00:00Today is a victory for parents and for children and it's really good to see the commitment and
00:03the ambition from the government with their plans to announce the social media ban for under 16s
00:08and that's a great first start but there's much more the government needs to be doing. We really
00:12need to see that this ban includes really robust age checks and we don't have the loopholes that
00:17we've seen in Australia with their social media ban and we also need to see action with the way
00:21these platforms are designed. We need to tackle addictive design of these platforms as well
00:26because young people are telling us they're sick and tired of being sucked into doom scrolling
00:29because the way these platforms have been designed.
