00:16about two years ago and I realized I was I was forgetting people names and places didn't know
00:25why that was happening my wife also noticed it and no one else noticed it I just us did and
00:30so that
00:31was good I think I was sleeping for the first time at night and for the first time in 25
00:45years I was
00:45doing the 11 o'clock finally though getting a decent night's sleep and it wasn't getting better
01:06that was immediate it just he just popped into my head and then a couple seconds later
01:12I was scared I don't mind saying that it was scary because I thought wait a minute my life's supposed
01:18to be doing this and this and all of a sudden what's going on here I quickly I think moved
01:25into
01:25husband slash dad place I really did really took over because Alzheimer's really affects the family
01:36most and I as a dad and a husband I I said this I got to deal with this
01:51my job as a journalist is to speak honestly to the public truth and facts is what we deal with
01:57right that's what you deal with that's what all everyone at ABC deals with and that's what we want
02:01I felt like owed it to the viewers to be honest about this
