00:00Well, it says a lot. It says they've arrived early. It says that they are good enough to do something
00:07like that.
00:08It tells you that they've got this never-say-die attitude that is clearly paying off for them.
00:17That series was spectacular. They won the first game. I don't think anybody would have anticipated a seven-run fifth
00:27inning, but they managed one.
00:30And they get completely shut out for all, pretty much most, of the second game.
00:40They ran into an incredibly good pitcher in Yamamoto, who was a World Series MVP, as we all remember, a
00:50year ago.
00:50So you're taking on this team with all their talent. You win the first game. You lose the second game.
00:56And it was kind of cute, because after the first game, you heard Dave Roberts talk, and he said that,
01:04I believe he described Will Venable as a mentee, which I haven't heard all that often.
01:11But he was apparently a mentor to his little brother, is the way he described it.
01:16But he said they would win the series, and lo and behold, they did not win the series, because the
01:22White Sox got another big inning.
01:25Only this time, it was one with home runs.
01:28So the home runs came back, and from unusual sources, really.
01:33I mean, Sam Antonacci and Chase Meidroff were two of the home run hitters, and the other was Colson Montgomery,
01:42who's not an unusual source.
01:44But it's amazing, because it tells you everything you need to know about the White Sox.
01:48You have a rookie and two second-year guys hitting home runs for the White Sox.
01:54They are such a young, such an anxious sort of rambunctious bunch that they don't even realize what you're supposed
02:07to do or not do.
02:08And therefore, they're in every game, and they're going after it.
02:12And they do kind of remind you of the 2015 Cubs, you know, when that group started winning and then
02:19ended up on their way to a World Series.
02:22It was a phenomenal—it tells you they can compete with anyone, and that is a great message for the guys
02:30to get.
