In an unprecedented long-range offensive, Ukrainian forces executed their furthest confirmed strike of 2026 during the night of June 14. President Zelenskyy reported successful hits on the Temp Rosrezerv oil storage facility in Rybinsk, located over 700 kilometers from Ukraine's border, as well as the Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, Tula region, which he identified as vital to Russia's explosives manufacturing. Footage circulating online captured massive flames and thick black smoke emanating from both sites. NASA's FIRMS satellite monitoring identified a thermal anomaly at the Azot facility around 03:09 local time. Russia's Defense Ministry acknowledged the downing of 249 aerial targets across various regions overnight, with air raid warnings issued in 28 regions. Six Russian airports faced air traffic restrictions. Zelenskyy characterized the attacks as 'long-range sanctions against Russia' in light of 'Russia's refusal to conclude this conflict.'
