00:00Mr. The government of Kerala is launched on free service to the women in Kerala in our state-run RTC.
00:12So how it will be operate?
00:13Kerala government has decided to start a new scheme called Priyadarshini Yatra in which women travelling in ordinary buses need
00:28not give a single pie.
00:32In ordinary buses means eight types of ordinary buses. In all these buses, women need not pay a single pie.
00:43Moreover, they need not register anywhere. They need not show any card or registration number. This hassle-free and it
00:55is applicable to rich, poor, APL, BPL, Keralite, non-Keralite, anybody, including transgender persons.
01:07So, do you evaluate this financial commitment?
01:13Yeah, yeah. It is financially very difficult thing, but economically it is a good thing. It's a good economics, but
01:21bad finance. But we stand for the good economics.
01:25For women and working women especially, they will be benefited by nearly 2,000 rupees per month. That's a sizable
01:36amount for a working woman.
01:39So, it will enhance their standard of living. In many ways, I am not elaborating. In that way, it is
01:49a good economics. At the same time, as far as a corporation, KSRTC is concerned, it is a loss-making
01:59thing.
01:59But the government of Kerala has assured us that they will subsidize what we lose, meaning nearly 2 crore rupees
02:10per day.
