A California trip leaves a famous travel video blogger the victim of stalking after one of her local followers becomes too close for comfort.

00:00:13Earlier today a 28-year-old female was found brutally attacked in a public women's restroom
00:00:20at Harper Beach, California.
00:00:24Apparently the women were being stalked and according to authorities it appears that the
00:00:29stalker wanted his victims to be painfully aware of his menacing presence up to the very
00:00:35end.
00:00:37We need to issue the following warning.
00:00:39Throughout this upcoming segment we will be showing the actual videos regarding this case.
00:00:45Viewers discretion is advised.

00:01:24Newest development is that of a Colorado woman, Dakota Moore, brutally attacked at our local
00:01:31beach here in Harper County.
00:01:34Authorities are working around the clock to find any evidence related to the incident in
00:01:40the surrounding area.
00:01:42Miss Moore was known for her vlog channel, where she had thousands of followers.
00:01:48As a vlogger, it's quite common to interact with your families.
00:01:52Some vloggers receive gifts and small donations from their followers who have good intentions,
00:01:59while others who do accept these gifts, they're clouded with horrible agendas like that of Dakota
00:02:07Moore, which led to her attack.
00:02:11Since 2017, there have been five attempted and successful murders here in California, Arizona,
00:02:19and Nevada.
00:02:20Local police in all three states have had no success finding any evidence that might help
00:02:26lead them to the perpetrators.
00:02:28Authorities seem to believe all five of these are connected and that Dakota Moore was one of
00:02:35the last victims found.
00:02:38The Moore family hired a retired investigator, Robert Harris, as well as a private investigator
00:02:44and tech specialist, Jeff Marks, to help bring justice to Dakota, as well as other unfortunate
00:02:51victims and their families.
00:02:54Upon their in-depth investigation, videos were found in archives of emails and spam folders
00:02:59that were sent to each individual victim.
00:03:03These videos were that of the killers recording themselves, torturing their victims, and then
00:03:10sending the videos as a warning of what was to come.
00:03:16Investigators seemed to believe this was a taunt tactic, to scare them before their initial
00:03:21attack.
00:03:22Unfortunately, no tracing has been made due to the IP addresses being blocked, making it difficult
00:03:29for authorities to track them down.
00:03:32Dakota's brother, Brian Moore, and the investigators agreed to be interviewed so that we may look
00:03:39further into these horrific events to see what may have caused these people to act so morbidly
00:03:46on such innocent lives.
00:03:49No one knows exactly why these acts happened.
00:03:53And since Dakota's case in 2019, there have been no more reported incidents, leaving investigators
00:04:00completely clueless as to what the incentive was for these murders and attacks.
00:04:07Throughout this segment, the actual videos found of these victims will be shown.

00:04:34how you got involved with this case.

00:04:42I'm a retired detective that specializes in missing people.
00:04:46I left to start my own investigation company.
00:04:49That's how the family got a hold of you?
00:04:51Yes.
00:04:52Dakota's brother reached out to me when he saw an episode on the TV where I was interviewed
00:04:58for finding the little girl in Texas, Casey Brown.
00:05:01Ah, yes, I remember that.
00:05:03She was gone for months.
00:05:05A year and a half.
00:05:07Everyone except the little girl's mother thought her to be dead, but I found her.
00:05:12Now, Dakota, what do you know about her?
00:05:17Nothing, until her brother reached out to me.
00:05:19I'm not much of an online person, so I don't get into how everyone posts online.
00:05:25Have you ever heard of vloggers?
00:05:28Before I met her brother, no.
00:05:31That was a little eye-opening how that all worked.
00:05:33Posting where you're at all the time, asking people you don't even know for money.
00:05:38At the time of Dakota's brother reaching out, can you tell us what happened?
00:05:45He told me what happened, and the police weren't doing much to solve the case.
00:05:49So I started looking at it online and saw the endless amount of videos that she was posting.
00:05:54It was like a maze.
00:05:56How did you come to the conclusion that your case was related to the Dakota Moore case in California?
00:06:04Well, one of the things I did before reaching out to the investigator who was working on the case was
00:06:09that I made sure that this was linked to the Arizona and the Nevada cases.
00:06:14Which they were, the patterns were identical.
00:06:21That's what you say that led her to attack, correct?
00:06:27Oh, yes.
00:06:28I believe that 100%.
00:06:29She led them straight to her.
00:06:31Whoever was watching her, which they were, they knew where she was and what she was doing and even what
00:06:36she was wearing.

00:08:50How did you end up getting involved with this specific case?
00:08:55Once I showed the investigator the clips I had from the Arizona cases
00:08:59and found one of the same victims from the Dakota clips that he had showed me,
00:09:05he immediately brought me on to help out.
00:09:08Are all the videos the same for all the cases?
00:09:12The things we found on Dakota's cell phone were very similar to the Arizona case.
00:09:21Random spam texts with video links, including spam emails with video links also.
00:09:32We both went through Dakota's laptop and came across an endless amount of clips in her junk mail from the
00:09:39stalkers,
00:09:41which were the exact same clips I came across in Arizona and the Nevada cases.
00:09:48We tried really hard to enhance some of the images on some of the clips,
00:09:52but they were always wearing masks.
00:09:58Some of the victims we couldn't identify because they wouldn't show them while they were recording.
00:10:07The only victim from one of the clips that we were able to identify was Karen Harris from Las Vegas,
00:10:14Nevada.
00:10:15The killers were pretty green at that point.
00:10:20He, she didn't care if they had showed who was on camera.
00:10:25Are you able to see any of their faces?
00:10:31It wasn't about a year or so later when the new clips didn't show who the victims were.

00:12:27Yes. I was watching a show on TV about missing persons, and the detective on there had a great track
00:12:34record for finding kidnapped people.
00:12:36So, I reached out to him. I looked him up.

00:13:34But I think it was in her third year, she blew up all of a sudden.

00:27:13I feel that the killers love the setup.
00:27:16They love to set the scene.
00:27:19They love to film the chase and all the events that lead up to the death.
00:27:25But they won't show you that part.
00:27:28They want you to imagine what they did to them.
00:27:35Her brother gave me the login information book.
00:27:38She always kept a journal that reminded her of all her logins.
00:27:42And that was the way I was able to go through it and see all the videos and direct messages
00:27:47of her to find something.
00:27:48You know, see any patterns of someone who might be reaching out to her a little bit too
00:27:52much or a little bit more.
00:27:53Was that easy for you to narrow down?
00:27:57No.
00:27:58No.
00:28:00She has thousands of people.
00:28:03So it was a needle in a haystack.
00:28:07Emails, videos from fans, and donations from people.
00:28:12So she was well known, right?
00:28:15Oh, very much.
00:28:17Her followers enjoyed what she was doing and they paid her very well.
00:28:23Until it all stopped.

00:28:27Police say they couldn't track where all the money was coming from.
00:28:32Is that true?
00:28:34Yes and no.
00:28:35Some sources came in our favor and we were able to locate some of the donors.
00:28:40Can you explain how that works exactly?
00:28:45Well, some donors were using western unions.
00:28:48Fictitious names, some of the western unions were used, weren't there anymore.
00:28:52Fake accounts, they were just submitting money to her.
00:28:56And that's what led her to California, right?
00:29:00Oh, absolutely.
00:29:02If someone wanted her to come out to California so they could do what they did to her.
00:29:07Have you ever tried reaching out to the followers?

00:29:12But again, how do you question thousands of followers who might or might not be real people?
