00:09In Islamic history, knowledge has never been separated from social responsibility.
00:17Through knowledge, we build madrasa, shape systems of governance, advance trade and produce great civilizations.
00:32That is why knowledge must not remain confined to seminars, journals and academic spaces alone.
00:41Knowledge must come down to guide society, assist policy makers and answer the questions of the Ummah with wisdom and
00:55intellectual courage.
00:57This is important because society today seeks guidance in many new spaces.
01:05From social media and digital platform to artificial intelligence and public policy debates in this environment, knowledge must not only
01:21explain but also guide.
01:24Furthermore, we now live in an abundance of information but often suffer from a poverty of wisdom.
01:38Data is increasing yet wisdom is becoming more distant.
01:44This is where scholars as today play a vital role to turn information into understanding.
01:56Understanding into wisdom and wisdom into action.
02:01Ladies and gentlemen, at the same time, differences of opinion are part of the vastness of knowledge but they must
02:12be guided by adab al-ihtilaf.
02:18To differ without hostility.
02:23To argue without belating and seek common ground without betraying especially the principles.
02:35Therefore, intellectual consensus does not mean making all views uniform.
02:43This is not our purpose, not making all views uniform.
02:49It means building a shared value framework in facing common challenges.
02:58One of the greatest challenges today is technology.
03:02Artificial intelligence or AI is no longer an issue of the future.
03:09It is already shaping education, the economy, security, communications, governance and even the way society seeks answers about religion and
03:22life.
03:24The question today is not whether we should accept or reject technology.
03:29The bigger question is how technology should be guided.
03:34My greatest concern is that technology without values can become a tool of manipulations.
03:45Data without ethics can violate human dignity.
03:51Algorithms without wisdom can silently shape the minds of society.
03:57This is where I believe Naqashid Sharia plays its role as an ethical compass for progress.
04:10The technological advancement and system efficiency are not everything.
04:16The success of an innovation must also be measured by its ability to protect religion, protect life, protect intellectuals, protect
04:28lineages and property.
04:32That is why Muslims cannot merely be users of technologies developed by others.
04:42We must also be thinkers, creators and drivers of its directions.
04:52In ASEAN, especially in Southeast Asia, with our moderate Islamic traditions, our culture of courtesy and the diversity of our
05:05societies,
05:06A belief that we can offer an ethical technology model that embraces progress with eroding the values of identity of
05:18the Ummah.
05:36We must also be at least at a level of success with our way,
05:37in terms of the organization.
05:37We must be able to continue to create a way to achieve anti- nowadays,
05:37this is how we can achieve our personal complexity in between the generation and to the generation.
05:39This is how we are working in our culture together.
