While gun purveyor Steve Farrell (Randolph Scott) shows off the latest revolver innovation, a Colt .45 repeating handgun, to Sheriff Harris (Alan Hale), outlaw prisoner Jason Brett (Zachary Scott) grabs a pair and hightails it out of town -- and the sheriff jails Farrell as a likely partner in crime. But during Farrell's incarceration, Brett goes on an unstoppable rampage. Farrell is released, and must stop the outlaw with the assistance of Walking Bear (Chief Thundercloud) and the Colt .45.

00:00:41The End
00:01:11The End
00:01:11The first Colt repeating pistols in this territory, Sheriff. Finest guns ever made. Here's law and order in six-finger
00:01:18doses. Yes, sir. Easy to load and as durable as your mother-in-law.
00:01:21Listen to that salesman later, Sheriff. Let me out of here. The stage is ready to roll. I'll see that
00:01:27you're on it. Now, shut up. Heard a lot about these new Colt repeating pistols, Mr. Farrell?
00:01:32You'll hear more. Nothing like them. How much more does a man have to hear? Look what it says in
00:01:38this advertising your company's doing.
00:01:40The Secretary of War under President Polk has contracted with Mr. Colt for 2,000 of his pistols.
00:01:46During the war with Mexico, these pistols were responsible for our victories, even though we were outnumbered.
00:01:51The remarkable advantage of the Colt repeating pistol was dramatically proved in the personal experience of Captain Steve Farrell, who
00:01:58was sent to Texas for the Cavalry Detachment to rescue Colonel Cross of the American Army.
00:02:03Ambushed by the Mexicans, the entire detachment was killed or captured, and only Captain Farrell escaped by shooting his way
00:02:09to freedom with a pair of the new Colt repeating pistols.
00:02:13Mr. Farrell. Captain Farrell, is that you?
00:02:17Mr. Colt presented me with his pair when he was in Washington, trying to interest the government in his revolver.
00:02:22When my outfit was wiped out in that ambush, it was these guns that saved my life.
00:02:28Wish I could deliver them instead of just take orders, but in fact, I was nearly a year behind.
00:02:32No chance of getting a pair soon, Mr. Farrell.
00:02:35No, not this far west yet. Government orders have to come first.
00:02:40The powder is automatically measured as you pour from the flask.
00:02:43Six shots instead of one. Man, that makes a difference.
00:02:46In your business it does, and I'm not covering the general trade until every law officer in my territory gets
00:02:51his order in first.
00:02:53Just crimp in the bullets. No wadding is necessary.
00:02:58And the ram attempts them home.
00:03:00Six shots instead of one.
00:03:03Earl, you really got some.
00:03:05If I had me one of them revolvers, I wouldn't be here now.
00:03:11Push the cap down tight, and she's ready to go.
00:03:15All your customers, as noisy as that.
00:03:17Only one way to handle these trouble-hunting drifters.
00:03:20Pick them up, keep them on ice overnight, and then ship them out of town.
00:03:23Keeps the streets clean.
00:03:25Every man to his business, Sheriff.
00:03:27Now, to get back to mine, ordered in pairs.
00:03:30This is the way Colonel Colt ships this model. Complete.
00:03:35The stage is ready to roll.
00:03:37Got you packed your freight, wrapped for shipment?
00:03:39Be right out with him.
00:03:41Mind waiting a minute, Mr. Farrell?
00:03:43Want to hear more about those guns.
00:03:45This little job won't take long.
00:03:48Maybe this time it won't. I'll be back.
00:03:50Mister, you ain't coming back.
00:03:52Maybe I'm an old man, but I know your kind.
00:03:54Rotten, clean through, yellow as a whining puff.
00:03:56The kind that can't be a man without a gun in his fist.
00:03:59A pistol don't make a man.
00:04:01It's the gent behind the gun that counts.
00:04:09Colt, the old man just said that it was the gent behind the guns that counted,
00:04:12and I'm behind these.
00:04:14Never let me catch you when you want to.
00:04:16Ah, that's better.
00:04:17I'm going to keep you on your feet.
00:04:18I got use for you.
00:04:25Hey, what's going on in here?
00:04:31Thanks, Farrell.
00:04:33Don't you'd forgotten your promise.
00:04:35Wouldn't show us.
00:04:36Let that one go.
00:04:37Get his partner here.
00:04:40Partner?
00:04:41Yes, partner.
00:04:42You heard that killer calling my name.
00:04:44A slick way of getting guns in here without the sheriff's suspicion.
00:04:47Now, wait a minute.
00:04:48Wait a minute and lock him up.
00:04:50He stole those guns.
00:04:51Yeah, that's your story.
00:04:53He stole those guns, I'll tell you.
00:05:12I'll tell you.
00:05:12Be all right.
00:05:15More.
00:05:53Come on.
00:06:14All right, Farrell.
00:06:19On your way.
00:06:20Your gear's in that closet there.
00:06:22Get it out.
00:06:23Decided you might have made a mistake about that killer and me?
00:06:25Not on your life.
00:06:27The town put this badge on me because I promised to let you rot in jail.
00:06:31I still wish that I could.
00:06:33Why turn me loose, then?
00:06:35The circuit judge hit town this morning.
00:06:38Head, I never had enough on you to hold you, according to law.
00:06:41Ordered me to release you.
00:06:43So come on, get a move on.
00:06:44I ain't got all day.
00:06:46If it takes a stubborn man to make a good sheriff, you ought to be the best in the country.
00:06:51And don't figure on doing much with them fancy pistols, because I got the country well-plastered with information posters
00:06:58on you.
00:06:59You're not only stubborn, mister, you're a fellow.
00:07:02Did you put out posters on the thief that took my guns, too?
00:07:07I'll make a deal.
00:07:09I'll give you a letter clearing you if you'll tell me where that killer's hiding.
00:07:12Why?
00:07:16Because it's worth $5,000.
00:07:27Hasn't wasted much time with my guns, has he?
00:07:29I don't know where he is, but you'll know when I find him, I aim to get my guns back.
00:07:34A pair of guns ain't worth a long hunt.
00:07:36A pair he has are.
00:07:39They weren't made for the use he's putting them to.
00:07:44Blamed if I don't have to leave you.
00:07:48Too bad you couldn't have felt that way four months ago.
00:07:51I'll walk down the stable with you.
00:07:53Might make a difference in the price you get charged for your horse's key.
00:07:58You know, if I thought you'd really been telling a straight story from the beginning, Farrell,
00:08:03you'd wish me luck.
00:08:06Thanks, Sheriff.
00:08:13What a nice day.
00:08:29You're a nice day.
00:08:32Thanks, Sheriff.
00:08:32I don't know.
00:08:33You're an amazing day.
00:08:33I don't know.
00:08:33I don't know.
00:08:33I don't know.
00:08:34I don't know.
00:08:37You're a nice day.
00:08:37Oh, my God.
00:08:38I don't know.
00:08:40I don't know.
00:08:41I don't know.
00:08:55Oh, you hear some shooting?
00:08:57No.
00:08:59Jumpy, I guess.
00:09:00You sure we're carrying gold?
00:09:02If we are, we'll find out.
00:09:04That Jasper with the .45s hasn't missed a shipment in weeks.
00:09:21There!
00:09:53It's a great-looking bunch of Indians.
00:09:57Did you get the real ones planted?
00:09:58Right where the sheriff won't have to spend any time looking for them.
00:10:02You sure think of everything, don't you, Brad?
00:10:05Well, it's getting pretty close to time.
00:10:06The rest of you men ready?
00:10:07Yeah.
00:10:08All right, now, remember.
00:10:10Don't break cover until you see that scar flying from the stage cover.
00:10:13It'll be different not having you and your guns with us today.
00:10:16You'll get used to it.
00:10:17The fellow's got to move up.
00:10:19Chief, you almost lost top hair.
00:10:29Here comes help.
00:10:31We can't do anything for others.
00:10:33But we'll get you a ride into next town.
00:10:36No.
00:10:37Why me look like Indian?
00:10:42Kill my people.
00:10:44Blame my people for holdup.
00:10:46Holdup, huh?
00:10:54Cut you down for bait, huh?
00:10:57Boss has gone, which talk many times.
00:11:00Like you.
00:11:11Chief, take my horse.
00:11:12Get back to your people.
00:11:22On the move.
00:11:23Hurry, Chief.
00:11:35Oh, wait.
00:11:40Who's going on?
00:11:46Come on.
00:11:47Come on.
00:11:49Come on.
00:11:57Hold it up ahead.
00:11:58I'll give you a hand.
00:11:59Smash through, don't stop.
00:12:02Get up.
00:12:03Understand, don't stop.
00:12:05Get up.
00:12:13Don't be alarmed, ma'am.
00:12:14A little trouble ahead.
00:12:16Trouble?
00:12:17It'll be all right.
00:12:18Just keep your head down.
00:12:20No, you can't.
00:12:22Don't worry.
00:12:23Leave this to me.
00:12:31Here's your guns.
00:12:32I hope the boys don't forget my wife's on board.
00:12:34They won't.
00:12:36Yeah, that stage is carrying gold, all right.
00:12:41Aren't you ever jumpy, Brett?
00:12:43Look, hadn't you better clear out?
00:12:45It wouldn't do for your wife to see you here with me, would it?
00:12:48No.
00:12:48Come on.
00:13:02You can't, I tell you.
00:13:03You mustn't.
00:13:03You want this stage stopped?
00:13:05No, but...
00:13:05Just keep out of my way.
00:13:31You don't know what you're doing.
00:13:33Lady, I don't know what you're doing.
00:14:03No, you must, but you can't.
00:14:05I can try. I've come a long way for the chance.
00:14:35Out of powder. Let them go.
00:14:37Let them go.
00:14:37Let them go.
00:14:38Let them go.
00:14:38Let them go.
00:15:33You're in with this bunch.
00:15:34Oh, no, I'm not. You don't understand.
00:15:37Maybe the sheriff will.
00:15:39That driver's badly hurt. We've got to get him back to town.
00:15:58Give me a hand.
00:16:03Hey!
00:16:04Hey!
00:16:09Hey!
00:16:18Hey!
00:16:20Hey!
00:16:20Hey!
00:16:22Hey!
00:16:30Hey!
00:16:32Hey!
00:16:37How'd it go?
00:16:38Doing great.
00:16:41Right according to plan.
00:16:46What was the take?
00:16:48I don't know yet.
00:16:50Boys are bringing it in.
00:16:56What's the matter? Are you nervous?
00:16:58What about you?
00:17:00While you carry a nurse?
00:17:01No, it's just
00:17:03Just what?
00:17:04Come on, spit it out.
00:17:06I'd hate to think that you or your wife
00:17:08was holding anything out on me.
00:17:10What do you mean?
00:17:12Haven't I been working right along with you
00:17:13ever since you took this place from my nowhere for a hangout?
00:17:15Even against my wife?
00:17:17No, it's just that
00:17:20you've been taking too many risks
00:17:21that you don't need to.
00:17:23And this isn't a really big thing.
00:17:26Go ahead.
00:17:29You're like a miner.
00:17:30Like me before I figured it out.
00:17:31Because there's a mining boom going on,
00:17:33you figure the only profit's in gold.
00:17:35I figured there should have been
00:17:36about $10,000 in gold on that stage today.
00:17:40Nickels and dimes.
00:17:41Where was it going?
00:17:42Outside to buy more equipment,
00:17:43to open more mines,
00:17:44to raise more buildings in Bonanza Creek.
00:17:46The town.
00:17:47That's where the big take is.
00:17:48How many miners leave a boom town richard
00:17:50when they showed up?
00:17:51Not one in a thousand.
00:17:52Where does the gold they dug go?
00:17:54The gambling halls.
00:17:55The saloons.
00:17:56The banks.
00:17:57You think I'd have got this place
00:17:58for the price I did
00:17:58if the first owner hadn't gambled himself
00:18:00into a jam and lost the whole works
00:18:01to the bank?
00:18:02You got a gambling hall
00:18:03and a saloon and a bank
00:18:05you want to turn over to me?
00:18:06The town's full of them.
00:18:08And for the taking.
00:18:09Let Beth and me do more
00:18:10than just spot stage shipments for you.
00:18:12We're known in town.
00:18:12We lay the groundwork.
00:18:13You can move in behind us.
00:18:15You got a little capital.
00:18:16And where money won't talk,
00:18:17those will.
00:18:22You know,
00:18:23your wife ain't been
00:18:24exactly anxious
00:18:25to help us so far.
00:18:27If she ever got on to you,
00:18:29if she ever found out
00:18:30you was one of us.
00:18:31I'll take care of her.
00:18:32This is a chance
00:18:33to shave every day,
00:18:34to sleep between clean sheets,
00:18:36to have men tip their hats
00:18:37to you on the street
00:18:37and ask you for advice.
00:18:38My hands in their pockets
00:18:40at the same time, huh?
00:18:41Now you're getting the idea.
00:18:46Well, let's ask Beth.
00:18:47Here she comes now.
00:18:49No, she better not
00:18:50see me talking to you like this.
00:18:52Then you better get in there
00:18:53and get in there fast.
00:19:08All right, talk.
00:19:10What about that man on the stage?
00:19:11What about those 45s
00:19:12he was carrying?
00:19:13Talk to me.
00:19:14I don't know.
00:19:15I never saw him before.
00:19:16He just appeared.
00:19:18Right out of thin air?
00:19:19Yes, out of thin air.
00:19:20He was on the stage
00:19:21before I knew anything about it.
00:19:22There was nothing I could do.
00:19:24You have to believe me.
00:19:26You've got to.
00:19:29Where's my husband?
00:19:31What have you done to him?
00:19:32Nothing yet.
00:19:33I wanted to hear your story first.
00:19:35Must you hold us responsible
00:19:37for everything?
00:19:38What do you expect of us?
00:19:40I'm not sure about your husband,
00:19:42but I can tell you all about you.
00:19:44And you do believe we had nothing to do
00:19:46with what happened on the stage?
00:19:48Sure.
00:19:49You're too smart to lie to me.
00:19:59of your husband.
00:20:00Your husband is in there.
00:20:14Oh, you handle that beautifully.
00:20:16Did I, Paul?
00:20:18I'm sorry.
00:20:20Sorry?
00:20:21What's the matter with you?
00:20:23What happened on that stage today?
00:20:26Beth, did you...
00:20:27Go to somebody for help?
00:20:29No, we're cowards, both of us.
00:20:31Because we value our lives?
00:20:32What happened on that stage?
00:20:34A man I've never seen before turned Brett's gang back.
00:20:37I escaped when he stopped the stage.
00:20:41Oh, Paul, we can't go on like this.
00:20:44As members of the gang, as if we had joined willingly.
00:20:47There must be someone we can turn to for help.
00:20:50The judge, the sheriff, somebody in town.
00:20:52We've talked about this before. It's too risky.
00:20:55Maybe Brett wouldn't harm you, I don't know.
00:20:57But he'd kill me.
00:20:59If he thought for a minute that you had anything to do with that trouble on the stage today,
00:21:03he'd have shot me right through that door, with you standing here.
00:21:07Is that what you want, Beth?
00:21:08Oh, no, Paul, of course not.
00:21:10I don't want the other things he's promised.
00:21:12I don't want good living, travel, and money.
00:21:16I want what we had here before we ever saw him.
00:21:19They're our lives.
00:21:20We've a right to live them.
00:21:22And I want to keep on living mine.
00:21:28Be patient a little longer, dear.
00:21:30His guy never stays long in one place.
00:21:32I know it isn't easy, but we've just got to wait.
00:21:36He's an animal.
00:21:38You should have seen him behind those guns today.
00:21:41I think he kills just to see men die.
00:21:45I know what's best for us, believe me.
00:21:47Trust me, sweetheart.
00:21:49Oh, Paul.
00:21:56It's been a hard day for you.
00:21:58Let's get out of here.
00:22:00Maybe after you've rest a little while, you'll feel better, huh?
00:22:02Yes.
00:22:14Something's wrong.
00:22:22Yeah, give me a hand.
00:22:24What happened?
00:22:29Careful, he's in pretty bad shape.
00:22:31All right.
00:22:31Well, at least the stage came back this time.
00:22:33What about the express box?
00:22:35It's up there.
00:22:36Those blasted Indians in the hills?
00:22:39Any of you know an Indian who's got a pair of cool .45s and knows how to use them?
00:22:44Where's your sheriff?
00:22:45Right here.
00:22:47What's this, about a pair of .45s?
00:22:50You ought to know, sheriff.
00:22:51You got reward posters out on the gang that did this.
00:22:53Harris, how long are we going to put up with that bunch?
00:22:55Just as long as I have to put up with a town that hides behind its own street.
00:23:00I've kept that bunch out of Bonanza Creek.
00:23:03And I'm not going into the hills to look for them until you, all of you, get off your bellies.
00:23:09You get me a posse to back me up and I'll bring the gang in.
00:23:13Well, I haven't lost anything in the hills.
00:23:15One bullet will kill a man dead enough.
00:23:17I ain't takin' chances with six.
00:23:19Grow big men in this country, don't you, sheriff?
00:23:22Hmph.
00:23:23Pockets are full of profit that can't get up on their hind legs.
00:23:26What's your name, mister?
00:23:28Farrell.
00:23:29Steve Farrell.
00:23:31All right, boys.
00:23:32Roll the stage down to the corral and see that box gets back to the office.
00:23:38You look like one man who could talk to the boss of the .45s gang on even terms.
00:23:43Will you step inside?
00:23:53Sit down.
00:23:56Thanks.
00:24:16Now, why are you here and what did you say your business was, Farrell?
00:24:20I didn't say.
00:24:22I'm looking for a man, the same man you are.
00:24:25Why?
00:24:26He stole a pair of guns from me.
00:24:29Well, I suppose one reason's as good as another.
00:24:32Do you think you'll find him?
00:24:33I know I will.
00:24:34You help me and I'll help you.
00:24:36You need a deputy.
00:24:39Oh.
00:24:41You mean you want one of these?
00:24:44Sure.
00:24:46I want the law behind me when I go after those guns.
00:24:48Well, pin it on, mister, and welcome.
00:24:52Looks like I'm going to have my first night off in months.
00:24:55You mind?
00:24:56No.
00:24:58Any passengers on that stage when it left today?
00:25:02I don't know.
00:25:02I didn't see it leave.
00:25:03Why?
00:25:04Oh, nothing.
00:25:05Go ahead, Sheriff.
00:25:06I'll hold the fort down.
00:25:08Got some thinking to do.
00:25:09Well, I'll see you later.
00:25:14Maybe a little investigating, too.
00:25:19Hmm.
00:25:39What's the matter?
00:25:41Who is he?
00:25:41Where did he come from?
00:25:42Who?
00:25:44That man on the stage.
00:25:45What's the difference with that shot at before?
00:25:47Yeah, but not with a pair of those.
00:25:49I don't like it.
00:26:09Now we'll find out.
00:26:10Who crossed us up on the stage today?
00:26:12Shut up.
00:26:13The boss was...
00:26:16What happened?
00:26:18Your past almost caught up with you.
00:26:20Don't be funny.
00:26:22Well, you're in a jam.
00:26:23You want to hear about it or don't you?
00:26:25No, he's getting a little big for his britches.
00:26:27I'm listening.
00:26:29You know who that was on the stage today?
00:26:31No.
00:26:32Steve Farrell.
00:26:33Farrell?
00:26:34A gun salesman.
00:26:35He says you owe him for those, uh...
00:26:39Those guns, and he brought along another pair to collect with.
00:26:41He ain't going to get a chance to use them.
00:26:43Where is he now?
00:26:45Oh, that'll keep.
00:26:46We're making a deal first.
00:26:50So, Harris, come in.
00:26:52You stay out of this.
00:26:55Sit down and shut up.
00:26:59I'd better like this deal of yours.
00:27:01You'll have to.
00:27:03I've got Farrell in my hip pocket, and he might get loose.
00:27:07When I let you start working my county, there was one thing we never settled.
00:27:11Like what?
00:27:12I'm giving the orders, and you're taking them.
00:27:16You're a big man, ain't you, Sheriff?
00:27:18Tough, too.
00:27:20And smart.
00:27:34What are you without these?
00:27:37Yella.
00:27:39Why should you get all the gravy and leave me to wash up the plates behind you?
00:27:43Now listen.
00:27:44You listen.
00:27:47It's the last thing you're going to hear.
00:27:58Now pick him up and put him in that chair.
00:28:06You think fast.
00:28:19The smart sheriff, wanting to be the big boss.
00:28:22Do you want to listen now?
00:28:24Where's Farrell?
00:28:25He's in my office, wearing a deputy star.
00:28:28So that's what you thought was smart.
00:28:30You're going to send him out here after me with the law behind him.
00:28:33Not really.
00:28:34Sure, you go ahead.
00:28:35You do that.
00:28:37Only he'll never get here because we'll meet him on the way.
00:28:41He's sharp.
00:28:42He may not do it.
00:28:44He's your deputy.
00:28:47Make him do it.
00:28:49All right.
00:28:56Oh, Sheriff.
00:29:02Now take him up.
00:29:03Send him back to town and get in here.
00:29:06Looks like we're going to get ourselves another pair of .45s.
00:29:19So that's where he...
00:29:23In town.

00:34:35Came no good for talk, all right.
00:34:46Too many trails, all get away.
00:34:50But maybe not so bad.
00:34:54Joaquin Bear make you present.
00:34:56That's a present I can use.
00:34:58All right, boys, start talking.
00:35:01Indian has ways to make prisoners talk.
00:35:05I'll make them talk when I get them back to town.
00:35:15Good morning, Judge Tucker.
00:35:17Good morning, Donovan.
00:35:18How's the missus?
00:35:18Oh, fine, thanks.
00:35:19Good.
00:35:28What are you doing here?
00:35:29I started Farrell on his way.
00:35:30Yeah, I know.
00:35:31I saw him start out.
00:35:33But, uh, Brent figured I'd better keep an eye on you today, just the same.
00:35:37Now, you listen here.
00:35:51Farrell!
00:35:53Then some of the 45s.
00:35:56I know this one.
00:35:57He shot Ben Murphy off a stage I was riding last month.
00:36:00This gunk held up Tom Feeney and me out at our claim.
00:36:03Well, thanks to Farrell, we're getting some action at last.
00:36:06The stagecoach yesterday, and now this.
00:36:08It's time we took a hand.
00:36:09Someone get a rope.
00:36:10Oh, hold on!
00:36:12You elected me to law.
00:36:14We're sticking to due process.
00:36:15Nobody's gonna get hung here without a fair trial.
00:36:17The sheriff's right.
00:36:19If you think they deserve a hanging, appoint a minor's court to do it properly.
00:36:22You're making us waste a lot of good time, Farrell.
00:36:26All right.
00:36:27We'll elect to court, then.
00:36:28Here's Judge Tucker.
00:36:30The sheriff said this has got to be according to law.
00:36:33We'll need your help, Judge.
00:36:34A duty and a pleasure, gentlemen.
00:36:36We'll have court set up and a jury paneled in no time.
00:36:39All right, inside.
00:36:40Over this way, man.
00:36:48What happened?
00:36:49How'd you get them?
00:36:50I was ambushed.
00:36:51They'll tell us about it.
00:36:53You'll get nothing out of us.
00:36:55Suit yourselves, boys.
00:36:56If you decide to talk before that court's set up out there, we'll do what we can for you.
00:37:00And if you don't, well, there you are next.
00:37:04Get in there.
00:37:15Make yourself comfortable, Sheriff.
00:37:18We've got more time than they have.
00:37:19Let's go.
00:37:21Let's go.
00:37:48Let's go.
00:37:57Let's go.
00:38:12Let's go.
00:38:17Let's go.
00:38:18Let's go.
00:38:18Let's go.
00:38:18Let's go.
00:38:18Let's go.
00:38:19Let's go.
00:38:19Let's go.
00:38:19Let's go.
00:38:26Let's go.
00:38:27Now what?
00:38:27Don't make sense.
00:38:36Well, we're on our way.
00:38:38I figured if you see...
00:38:39I said I had it figured.
00:38:41All right.
00:38:43All right, then, but don't forget.
00:38:44This was my idea.
00:38:45I ain't forgetting anything, including your wife.
00:38:48How are you going to explain this move to town to her?
00:38:51She's kind of stubborn.
00:38:52Not that stubborn. No woman is.
00:38:54This means luxury. It's good living.
00:38:56You can buy the best woman with gold.
00:38:57She won't care where it comes from.
00:38:59Beth will string along.
00:39:00Not so easy and not outside the law.
00:39:03She'll give you trouble.
00:39:04I won't let her.
00:39:05She'll have to understand this is our big chance.
00:39:07I'll make her see it.
00:39:08That won't be necessary, Paul.
00:39:10I understand completely now.
00:39:13The things I've gone through to buy my husband's safety.
00:39:16Do you know why I ran over here when I saw you ride in?
00:39:19I was afraid.
00:39:21Afraid something would happen to you.
00:39:22Beth, listen, it's not what you think.
00:39:24It never has been, even from the beginning, has it?
00:39:26The man I thought I married never really existed.
00:39:29You know I love you.
00:39:30You think I want to keep you in this dirty mine?
00:39:32The dirt didn't come out of the mine, Paul.
00:39:34Beth, this is a way to everything that we've wanted.
00:39:37It affects our whole life, our future.
00:39:39Not mine.
00:39:40That's over with.
00:39:41Finished.
00:39:42I'll take care of her.
00:39:43Better make it fast.
00:39:46Beth, be sensible.
00:39:48If you can't understand my thinking, at least respect my judgment.
00:39:51Respect.
00:39:53You think I'll let your stubbornness stand in my way now?
00:39:56Everything I've planned for?
00:39:58Move.
00:40:08Hey, bring those horses up here.
00:40:12Like honest mine and so well, you ought to be happy in here.
00:40:22Paul?
00:40:23Paul?
00:40:29It's terribly dark in here.
00:40:32Don't leave me without a light, please.
00:40:37There's candles in there someplace.
00:40:38Don't leave me without a light, please.
00:40:51Beth.
00:40:53I'll be back sometime tomorrow.
00:40:55I know how you feel right now, but we'll do some thinking until I get back.
00:40:57Think real hard.
00:40:58Maybe you'll change your mind, because whatever I'm doing is not only for me, but for you too.
00:41:02Don't forget that.
00:41:18Don't forget it.
00:41:20Don't forget it.
00:41:24Don't forget it.
00:41:30Let's go.
00:41:54Let's go.
00:42:30Let's go.
00:43:04Let's go.
00:43:04You're not going to get those boys to talk.
00:43:05Our rope's pretty persuasive.
00:43:07How are they coming out there?
00:43:08Just about set.
00:43:10Nervous?
00:43:11If I'm not going to hang, why should I be nervous?
00:43:19All right.
00:43:20Come on, Judge.
00:43:21Let's get the drive.
00:43:24You ready?
00:43:25I'm now declaring this court in session.
00:43:29Bring in the prisoners.
00:43:30Right, Judge.
00:43:38No ropes stretched yet.
00:43:40No, the law works kind of slow.
00:43:42Give me your guns.
00:43:48Donovan?
00:43:49Stay here as lookout.
00:43:50Get a couple for yourself and the boys.
00:44:16You ready?
00:44:18We know the charges.
00:44:19Who can identify these men?
00:44:21I can.
00:44:22I can.
00:44:22They were part of the .45's bunch that helped...
00:44:27Anyone else want to perjure himself?
00:44:29It's a break.
00:44:30All right, get those cuts off.
00:44:31Hold it.
00:44:36There's some of your .45's and the head man himself.
00:44:38Look at his guns.
00:44:39Why, he's here.
00:44:40Open your mouth.
00:44:42Here they are.
00:44:45Look at them.
00:44:46You've all been crying for law and order.
00:44:49Well, now you're going to get it.
00:44:50Thanks to the help I got from Mr. Brett in setting my trap.
00:44:53Trap?
00:44:54You could have let us in on it.
00:44:55Wait a minute.
00:44:56I won't buy that on a stranger say-so.
00:44:59Or yours either, Sheriff.
00:45:01Don't worry about him.
00:45:02He was the only man with sand enough to help me.
00:45:04What about those two?
00:45:05We were just two men out of his gang.
00:45:07Ain't too big a price to pay for the safety of the badge he's wearing.
00:45:10Come on.
00:45:11Let's get on with this.
00:45:12All you need is another length of rope.
00:45:14Order!
00:45:15Handsome order!
00:45:22Hey!
00:45:24Let's have some order!
00:45:26You'll have your say directly, Farrell.
00:45:27We're handing this legal.
00:45:30Where do you think you're going?
00:45:31Get out of my way.
00:45:32Stay out of this.
00:45:32Get out of my way.
