00:00The Perikatan National-led states of Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah, and Perlis are expected to hold their state elections simultaneously with
00:09the 16th general election, says past election director Sanusi Noor.
00:14Sanusi said this would ease the work of the coalition's election machinery, allowing them to be more effective while also
00:21saving costs on holding the elections, Haran Metro reported.
00:24The Kedah Muntribasar added that the matter was discussed with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who agreed with PN's plan.
00:32The past-led states of Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, as well as Pakatan Harapan-led states of Selangor, Nagarisambilan, and
00:40Pinang, did not hold their state elections concurrently with the 15th general election in November 2022.
00:47Instead, they held their state assembly elections in August 2023.
00:51While there has been speculation of a snap G-16 later this year, Johor and Nagarisambilan are holding their state
00:57elections on July 11th and August 1st, respectively.
