00:04he's celebrating with a UFC event on the White House South Lawn, because why not?
00:09Ahead of the event, UFC boss Dana White met with Secretary of State Marco Rubio to discuss using
00:13sports as a tool for diplomacy. The pair signed a memorandum of understanding that the State
00:18Department said marks, quote, a new public-private partnership to enhance sports diplomacy initiatives
00:24and collaborate on the global growth of mixed martial arts. We're also getting some more
00:29details about the Sunday night matches and how it's all going to go down. The seven-fight event
00:34will include two separate championship bouts, the lightweight and interim heavyweight divisions.
00:39The winners of those two fights, as well as President Trump, will be presented with massive
00:44belts containing 60 carats of diamonds and two carats of rubies, the most expensive ever produced.
00:52Now, to be clear, the president is getting one no matter what, since he's turning the big 8-0,
00:56but he's not actually duking it out in a cage match. The UFC's octagon fighting ring,
01:01positioned roughly where the Marine One helicopter typically lands, is surrounded by elevated seating
01:06supported by massive underfloor scaffolding that has to kind of correct for the way the lawn slopes.
01:12Towering over this makeshift facility are two massive arches of steel holding lighting and
01:18limited protection from rain, nicknamed the claw for that four-leg metal spans resemblance to a vending
01:24machine clasp, the one, you know, that uses to retrieve the toys. I could never win those.
01:28Now, beneath the temporary structure are small trailers for talent and event staff. One is labeled
01:34Octagon Girls. Closer to the Washington Monument are large event tents and portable bathrooms flanking
01:40the lawn's iconic fountain. The 14 fighters are expected to enter the cage through the literal
01:45White House, through 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, though exactly how they're going to do that
01:50will remain a surprise until Sunday.
