00:07The tool enables AI agents like ChatGPT and Claude to execute crypto trades and payments
00:13directly on users' behalf, using natural language instructions. The tool allows agents to rebalance
00:19portfolios, identify trading opportunities, execute strategies and manage positions over time,
00:24with plans to expand to stocks and predictions. Using Coinbase's X402 protocol, agents can also
00:31pay for digital services like paywalled research and data APAs without human involvement.
00:36The X402 protocol launched in May 2025 and has recorded more than 100 million transactions,
00:42with about 157,000 agents acting as buyers in the past 30 days. Coinbase earns trading fees on
00:48agent-executed trades and captures fees and spreads on USDC movement used to settle transactions.
