Raffael Flores-Contreras is a promoter/photographer/DJ that’s been living in New York for the past 8 years. I met him through Cecilia Jurado at Y Gallery’s first exhibition back in 2006. Last Friday we met at Simone’s, a peculiar burlesque bar in the East Village, to talk about the Gypsy movement in the City, how he got into photography, among other things. Every Thursday he hosts a party at the Bulgarian Bar and he always keeps his website up to date with pictures from underground parties all over New York City.
