00:00The rainy season is here and it's that time of the year you and I, especially those of us using
00:04waterways transportation must ensure safety. And how should we do this? You must ensure that before
00:09entering that boat, you wear your life jacket. This is to ensure that whenever there is a boat
00:13mishap, you're able to float and not drown. Then secondly, you must ensure that by 7 pm
00:20you don't board any boats because it's risky to sail at that particular time. And for the drivers,
00:26the boat operators, ensure that your boat does not sail after 7 pm. Ensure that all passengers
00:33adhere to wearing their life jackets and other safety protocols. And on the part of the Inland
00:38Waterways Authority, ensure that both the boat operators and the passengers adhere to this
00:43safety protocol. And if they refuse to do so, enforce that law, enforce the Inland Waterways
00:49Transport Code, whereby they are sanctioned for violating the rules. This is how we can
00:53ensure that we are safe. It's better to be safe than receive condolence message.
