00:00As a spell of rain slows down in Hualien, visitors are heading to a local exhibition
00:04honoring those who helped the town recover from a destructive flood last year.
00:09The exhibition, called Unite for Good, collected rain boots, shovels and train tickets left
00:14by clean-up volunteers from across the country.
00:17Over 500,000 of these so-called shovel heroes came to the area after a barrier lake burst
00:23its banks and buried Guangfu Township with muddy flood waters.
00:26Nineteen people were killed and hundreds were injured.
00:29A year later, memories of that time still have a lasting impact.
01:10The exhibition is organized by the Rotary Club and is being held at the Hualien Sugar Factory.
