This film, The Untold Story (1993), is one of the most infamous entries in Hong Kong’s Category III cinema — known for its extreme and disturbing subject matter.

Based loosely on the real-life 1985 “Eight Immortals Restaurant” murders, the story follows a man who commits brutal crimes and hides them in the most unthinkable way imaginable… by turning his victims into food served at his restaurant.

As the investigation unfolds, the tension builds between the killer trying to cover his tracks and the police slowly uncovering the truth behind the disappearances.

It’s a film that pushed boundaries in both storytelling and shock value, earning its place as one of the most controversial horror-thrillers ever made.

Not for the faint of heart… 💀

00:00Jack brutally killed the store clerk and chopped up the body, stuffing the pieces into the meat
00:03grinder. To cover up the smell, he added spices to the meat. Then he prepared the dough and started
00:08making buns. The next day, steam filled the kitchen. The counter was lined with freshly
00:12steamed buns, and customers started walking in. As usual, they took a bite, saying the buns tasted
00:17better than ever, but no one knew they were eating human flesh. The more Jack sold, the more money he
00:21made. But over time, staff members began to disappear one by one. To avoid suspicion, Jack
00:26hired a new employee. One night while Jack was playing mahjong with his neighbor, he cheated,
00:31and the new employee caught him. The next day, the employee smugly exposed him. This sparked the
00:35idea for Jack to kill. That night when the employee was about to sleep, Jack quietly approached from
00:39behind, grabbing a steel needle. When the employee turned around, Jack stabbed him directly in the eye.
00:45The employee collapsed to the ground, writhing in pain. Now the meat filling for the buns could
00:48continue. Jack began separating the bones from the meat, with a meat cleaver. The leftover bones were
00:53packed into bags and tossed into the trash outside. But what Jack didn't know was,
00:57his strange behavior had already raised the police's suspicions.
