00:00Your life, your ministry, pastors, leaders, your church, your local church,
00:05everything that we do is to point and bring glory to the Lord Jesus Christ.
00:12Amen, church.
00:14What happens when you do that?
00:16Well, life takes on a whole new meaning.
00:19Power comes into your life.
00:21Remember the early church, Peter and John, they were on their way to the temple
00:25and the Bible says,
00:26At the gate, beautiful, there was a man laying from his mother's womb who never had walked.
00:31Since he was born, he never had walked.
00:33And, you know, Peter went to him, Peter and John, and he says, you know, he asked for money.
00:39He asked alms.
00:41Alright, and this is what Peter did.
00:43Peter said, silver and gold, I have none, but such as I have, I give you.
00:47In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
00:51Church, if you are the bride of Christ and he is our bridegroom,
00:55know this, you have the power of attorney.
00:58You can use your husband's name.
01:00In fact, you can have a supplementary card in case you didn't know.
01:04Amen.
01:06You can sign off in your husband's name.
01:09Hallelujah.
01:10Whatever your husband has, you have.
01:14Some lady is going, amen.
01:18Whatever he has, you have.
01:22You know, Jesus gave us the power of attorney.
01:24It doesn't matter if I am poor.
01:26If he gave, if a rich man gave me the power to sign off in his name,
01:30it's not how rich I am.
01:31It's how rich the person I represent is.
01:36Okay?
01:37So, Jesus said,
01:39all power is given unto me in heaven and earth.
01:41Go ye therefore.
01:42That's the power of attorney.
01:43You're not going in your power.
01:45You're not going in your wisdom.
01:46You're not going in your strength.
01:47You're not going in your provision.
01:48You're going sponsored by Jesus Christ, our Lord.
01:53Who has all power.
01:55So, Peter and John look at the lame man who never had walked and says,
01:58in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
02:00Learn to use that.
02:02Alright?
02:03If your child is sick, learn to rebuke that fever in the name of Jesus.
02:06Amen.
02:07You can even curse that pimple on your face in the name of Jesus.
02:11Alright?
02:11Use the name.
02:13It's been given to you.
02:15Amen.
02:16Are you with me?
02:17So, he said,
02:18in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.
02:21And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up.
02:24And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
02:27Verse 8.
02:27And he, leaping up, stood and walked.
02:29Entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
02:33And all the people saw him walking and praising God.
02:36And they knew that it was he who sat for alms at the beautiful gate of the temple.
02:41And they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
02:45Next.
02:46And as the lame man which was healed helped Peter and John,
02:48all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's.
02:53Greatly wondering.
02:54And when Peter saw it, in other words, they were admiring Peter and John.
02:58Like, wow, Superman has come down.
03:00Iron Man also.
03:01You know?
03:01And they were looking at them like they're some special, you know, person.
03:05Alright?
03:06But when Peter saw that, he answered the people,
03:09Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this?
03:12Or why look ye so earnestly on us as though by our own power or holiness we had made this
03:20man to walk?
03:22Sometimes there's an impression given in some ministries that are miraculous, you know.
03:28We have that in our church as well.
03:30We have people healed of cancers.
03:32We have people healed of terminal diseases.
03:34But remember this.
03:36It is the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
03:39Alright?
03:39It is His power.
03:41His glory.
03:42We may pray and the healing happens in front of our eyes.
03:45But remember this.
03:45It is not the holiness of the man praying.
03:49Amen.
03:50It is not the power of that lady praying.
03:52It is the name of the one she represents.
03:56So, Peter was looking at them.
03:57Hey guys, why are you looking at us as if our own power, our holiness made this man walk?
04:05They refused the praises of man.
04:07They didn't come around there and say, yo man, look at this.
04:10Come on.
04:11Take a good look at this.
04:12Look at this.
04:13No.
04:14They were very careful not to take the glory.
04:17So, why look on us as though it's our power, our holiness.
04:22The next phrase.
04:24The God of Abraham, He told them.
04:26And of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified His Son, Jesus.
04:35That's the message of the Holy of Holies, people.
04:37God wants your life, your gifts, whatever it is that is in your life, to bring glory to Jesus Christ.
04:45Amen.
04:46See, these guys, they were not out to make themselves popular.
04:49They were not out to exalt themselves.
04:51They were not out to exalt one another or somebody else or whatever.
04:54They are here to exalt one name.
04:55The Lord Jesus Christ.
