It's a battle of the AI giants. Discover the compelling argument that Gemini's design, which prioritizes a seamless and fast user interaction, perfectly aligns with Apple's core philosophy, giving it the edge over competitors for integration into their ecosystem.

00:00This is what has turned Apple from using ChatGPT as the basis for next-gen Siri to using Gemini.
00:07They announced Flash 3.5 Flash, excuse me, Gemini 3.5 Flash,
00:12with this whole thing being that it is about four times faster than GPT 5.5.
00:17And they showed a load of benchmarks where in about 50% of benchmarks,
00:23it's more or less as good as GPT 5.5.
00:28And the benchmarks where it matches 5.5 were the really key stuff that you would want for integrating into
00:35a phone.
00:36So like academic research to give you information about a topic or interacting with a UI.
00:41And so my take is this is what has turned Apple from using ChatGPT as the basis for next-gen
00:49Siri
00:50to using Gemini as the basis for next-gen Siri.
00:52The speed versus the quality of results is probably the really big thing
00:56because like the Apple experience of AI needs to be super slick.
01:01Apple does not want it to be waiting around watching dots spin while you wait for an answer.
01:08It wants it to be a really low latency back-and-forth experience with a certain level of quality.
01:14And I was like 3.5 Flash seems designed basically for this.
01:21And then once you added in Gemini Spark and some of the other things that they showed that it could
01:26do,
01:27I was like, oh, well, I wouldn't be surprised if this was it as well.
01:30The idea of being able to do what you're saying, create the widgets,
01:36ask these questions that like can make changes based on information that's at an OS level,
01:42Apple can give those keys to Gemini.
01:45Apple can take Gemini and build it into iOS in a way that it can do the same thing as
01:49it's going to do on Android.
01:50But for iOS, you know, Apple already has the Shortcuts app and all these APIs that it controls
01:56that I'm sure Google will have just said, you just tell us what you want it to do and we'll
02:01make it happen.
02:01Yeah, actually, that was an exact story this week.
02:03There was a rumor that as part of iOS 27, you'll be able to say to Siri what type of
02:09shortcut you want
02:09and it will generate it for you because at the moment it's kind of like this inaccessible system,
02:13which is super hard to know how it works.
