At a recent event, Craig Federighi breaks down Apple's approach to AI. Discover why Siri is designed to be an extension of your system experience and how the new Siri app serves as a natural way for users to reference and continue their interactions.
Transcript
00:00We see Siri not as a separate chatbot, an unintegrated place you go and chit chat,
00:09but rather as an integral but conversational tool that you use in the moment, deeply integrated into your experience.
00:18Understanding what's on screen, able to interface not in some separate world but directly in the document that you're editing
00:25and that you want help proofreading, that you want tips on.
00:30And so while these experiences are conversational, they are really an extension of your system experience, deeply integrated into your
00:38flow.
00:39If you want to get back to such a chat that you had because you want to continue it, you
00:44want to reference it,
00:46and quite honestly in our platform the most natural affordance for any user to go find something like that is
00:52to have an app that they can manage on their home screen,
00:54launch and get back to. And so we have a Siri app and that Siri app just re-embodies those
00:59capabilities of that core system experience.
