00:00Weekend's best, weekend's worst. I'm going to start off with my weekend's best, Clint.
00:05And my weekend's best goes, and part of this is with the Houston Rockets as well,
00:10but the Minnesota Timberwolves, because they have followed the Rockets kind of,
00:14I don't know if they've followed their lead, but the Rockets and the Timberwolves here in the last week
00:18have both introduced their new uniforms, and very much like what the Rockets did,
00:25where you can see the Rockets kind of took it back a little bit of old school.
00:31The Rockets seem to try to incorporate all of their uniform histories in their jerseys,
00:38but you can see them going back to the old look, the old color scheme.
00:43The Timberwolves did the same thing, Clint, and it's a strong look.
00:48They've kind of like the Rockets, updated and upgraded their original uniforms,
00:56and they are clean.
00:57These are, they've got a black, a white, and a green one as well, and they are clean.
01:05If you roll on down a little bit more, you can see some more of the look.
01:09But they are clean.
01:11I love it, just straight Wolves across.
01:13They got KD to come out, or KG to come out there in new uniforms.
01:18I like them.
01:19They are classic, simple, and a good look.
01:25And I'll be honest with you, I think there are other franchises around sports
01:30that could probably do this.
01:32I really do.
01:33I think the Denver Broncos should think about doing this.
01:39I think they should go back.
01:41They've hit it out of the park when they redid theirs.
01:43They redo them, and I think, because I don't like this new little uniform.
01:47This is the third time, or the second one they've changed since they had the old.
01:51The Broncos you do?
01:52Yeah.
01:52You don't like the new one?
01:53I don't like the new ones.
01:55But I wish they'd go back to the old Elway ones.
02:00Yep.
02:00The old one.
02:01And they'll wear them.
02:01They'll wear them with the orange ones.
02:02They'll wear them every now and then.
02:03That orange is the deal, right?
02:05And the helmet, yeah.
02:06That's a clean look.
02:07Scott Van Pelt always says,
02:08They are the ones making the decisions not to wear these, and they'd look better.
02:13We obviously know the Oilers cannot do it, or the Tennessee Titans are doing it as close as they can.
02:21We can't just pull out the Oiler ones, but those would be clean.
02:25I think the Falcons should go back.
02:28That was my next team right there.
02:29To where I think the Commanders could just, you know, obviously not have that same emblem.
02:35But whatever they're using, I think they should go back to those uniforms.
02:38I don't like these Commanders ones.
02:40The Grizzlies, I wish the Grizzlies would just go back to their original ones straight up.
02:45I think there are other franchises that should think about doing with the Rockets and the Timberwolves.
02:49Yeah, I think that's a good one.
02:51I'm definitely a uni guy.
02:52Just make sure the people you guys sitting around the table get it right.
02:55I mean, and getting it right don't mean perfect.
02:57Boy, they've been some bad ones.
02:58Somebody threw some Arkansas, a couple of Arkansas Razorbacks, when they changed unis, threw them out there the other day.
03:04I was like, God.
03:04I mean, I remember seeing them.
03:05They're even worse now.
03:07I don't have to look at them every day, and they're even worse now.
03:10Yeah.
03:10No, yeah.
03:11I'm a fan.
03:12I like what the Timberwolves and the Rockets, what they both did.
03:15What's your weekend's best?
03:16My weekend's best is the SEC, college baseball, college World Series.
03:20I don't know if you boys saw this, but it's a record.
03:23College World Series record.
03:24The SEC put five teams in.
03:27I guess you saw part of it up close.
03:28Yeah, I watch Oklahoma beat the hell out of them.
03:30Well, at least you get to watch your team in a super regional.
03:33I think Tyler and I, our guys lost early.
03:37But big shout-out to Bama, Ole Miss, OU, Georgia, and Texas for representing the SEC.
03:48Five strong.
03:48Over half the teams.
03:50There's eight total teams in the College World Series.
03:52Five of them are out of the SEC.
03:53The other three, Troy, North Carolina, and West Virginia.
03:58I believe, correct me if I'm wrong, this is West Virginia's first trip to the College World Series.
04:02And is it Georgia's first trip to the College World Series as well?
04:05I don't know, but a lot of people feel like Georgia's the favorite.
04:07Yeah.
04:08Georgia's, I mean, they're all obviously playing good baseball at this point in time.
04:14But I think I saw where it was Georgia's first.
04:18Maybe not.
04:18But nonetheless, big shout-out to the SEC for dominating in one more sport.
04:23Yeah.
04:23There you go.
04:24OU beat the hell out of Kansas both days.
04:28Well, at least you got to watch it.
04:29It was sad.
04:30Now, I'd rather have lost in the region.
04:33Not even hosted.
04:34They hosted that, didn't they?
04:35They hosted.
04:36They embarrassed themselves and came out there.
04:39It was 12-2 last I checked today.
04:42Hold on, Joe.
04:43And the weather came and forced them to have to sit through there another day.
04:48They lost the first game 8-1.
04:50It was 12-2 the last one I saw.
04:5113-2 the last time I saw it.
04:53So, just a complete ass-kicking.
04:55All right, my weekend's worse.
04:57And I say this every year, and there are going to be some people who will call you soft.
05:02That's fine.
05:07The finals officiating, especially in game two, it's just stupid.
05:14And they do this every year where they just absolutely say,
05:19to hell with what we've done and how we've called everything for 82 games,
05:26we're going to change this into a completely different sport.
05:31And the hell with freedom of movement, hand-checking, and everything.
05:37I mean, it was so bad.
05:38I saw somebody text in and say,
05:39Ron, do you think they were favoring the Spurs?
05:42I don't think they were favoring anybody.
05:43I think the Knicks probably got the worst whistle.
05:46They were letting them be so physical,
05:48and then they called those two fouls on Carl Anthony Towns
05:51where the game really seemed to shift when he had to come out.
05:54But, I mean, there was one point, De'Aaron Fox got hooked in the middle of the lane.
06:01Just got hooked.
06:02They were hooked together.
06:03And he spun off of it, and I think double dribble into an and one.
06:08And nobody called anything into the and one.
06:10It is so.
06:11Every time Brunson crosses the court, and listen, I'm not mad at Stephon Castle.
06:16Hell, they got to.
06:17Stephon has fouled him.
06:19Go watch it.
06:19Let's see what they do.
06:20Stephon Castle is two-hands in his back all the way.
06:24One time he went to the lane, grabbed him, and they still just let it go.
06:28It is way too physical.
06:30And I'm telling you, and I know many people don't want to hear this,
06:36especially our producer, but this is why I have at times kind of felt for James
06:46because the way that, like, James Harden and Luka and SGA play throughout the entire season
06:52that they allow and it gets them to being who they are, they get in the playoffs,
06:56and now all of a sudden we've turned into the 90s.
07:00Yep.
07:00And then it becomes physical.
07:02And then everything that you allow to happen that helped their games for 82 games
07:08is now completely different.
07:10It's just like if they just change to the NFL and say, man, these playoffs start, man,
07:15like, we're going to start letting them be able to pull them a little bit on these routes.
07:19We're going to start to let them.
07:20It is just, it was that, the officiating was nuts in that game.
07:25Richard Jefferson said multiple times, guys, I can't believe I'm saying this,
07:29but I think this thing is a little too physical.
07:32Yeah, I tell you, Ron, for me, you know, I think it's a problem on both ends.
07:36You mentioned the regular season, regular season basketball for a handful of guys.
07:41It's so, for lack of a better term, soft in the regular season,
07:47and then it just, it's an extreme shift.
07:50Just do one.
07:50I think they both, yeah, yes, yeah, fair.
07:53Just do one.
07:53Be closer to the middle on both ends.
07:57And I think it's better for everybody involved.
07:59It's beyond let them play.
08:01Like, this is like, come on, guys.
08:03That's Jesus, right?
08:04Like, it is wild to me how physical, especially on the perimeter.
08:09There is not going around anybody because you can just reach out and grant folks.
08:14All right, what's your weekend's worth?
08:15Well, it's Brandon Iyuk, the former wide receiver for the 49ers, Ron.
08:21And I don't know why, but as I try to wrap my head around what's going on,
08:26I feel like, and I could be completely wrong here,
08:30but I feel like Brandon Iyuk is a throwback to the days when, like, I played
08:36and there were, like, really talented dudes that just didn't understand the business
08:40that really hadn't grown up yet that would work their way out of the league, you know?
08:43It seems like the kids nowadays, the players nowadays, are a little more
08:48at least aware of what's going on in the league and what, you know.
08:51Brandon Iyuk, get this.
08:53I mean, you understand the situation with him and the 49ers, right?
08:55The 49ers basically voided all of his guaranteed money
09:01because he wouldn't even show up to work, to rehab the knee.
09:06And now they've asked him not to come to the facility.
09:09Oh, they're out.
09:11They've tried to trade him.
09:12Nobody will trade for him.
09:13So their response is, well, we're not going to release him until the last second
09:16because we're not going to allow him to go somewhere and work out with the team
09:19and be better and then, you know, and that kind of deal.
