00:00When does a ceasefire stop being a ceasefire? I think that many civilians in Lebanon would argue
00:05that the so-called truce between the US, Iran, Israel and Lebanese militant group Hezbollah
00:11never really started. But certainly today's extraordinary exchange of fire between Israel
00:16and Iran has put this truce that's supposedly in place since April very much on edge. It has even
00:24angered US President Donald Trump. He's made it very clear on his social media accounts that he
00:28wants both sides to stop. Now this particular round started over the weekend as Israel has been
00:34pushing further into sovereign Lebanese territory and even bombed the southern suburbs of Beirut.
00:39That angered Iran that responded with fire to Israel and Israel has said that it's been firing
00:45at energy infrastructure in Iran and also defence infrastructure. But this has put a huge pressure
00:50on already fraught talks that are supposedly taking place between the US and Iran. President Donald
00:56Trump has said that these talks are ongoing and has apparently reportedly been incredibly fraught
01:01conversations between him and his closest ally, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,
01:06with even some reports saying that Donald Trump used expletives in a very heated phone call.
01:10But it doesn't seem to have worked as Israel is pushing ahead with this offensive and so much is
01:15at stake. We've already seen the biggest disruption to energy supply lines basically in modern history
01:21because of the closure of the street of Wormuz. Today, Iran's closest ally, the Houthis in Yemen,
01:27have threatened to close the Red Sea if Israel continues. This has impacted global markets and
01:32really the worst is yet to come if this continues. Donald Trump has made it very clear that he wants
01:38this to stop. Whether he actually has control is yet to be seen. At the moment, the fighting continues
01:43and the horizon is looking bleak.
