About This Game

A tale of emotion versus reason…

In Tales of Berseria, players embark on a journey of self-discovery as they assume the role of Velvet, a young woman whose once kind demeanor has been replaced and overcome with a festering anger and hatred after a traumatic experience three years prior to the events within Tales of Berseria. Velvet will join a crew of pirates as they sail across the sea and visit the many islands that make up the sacred kingdom of Midgand in an all-new adventure developed by the celebrated team behind the Tales of series. Veteran Tales of character designer Mutsumi Inomata has personally designed Velvet and famous Japanese animation studio, ufotable, returns to animate the game’s breathtaking cutscenes; delivering truly epic and emotional storytelling in their unique style.

00:00Ah, now that hit the spot.
00:05Hey, Velvet, can I ask you a question?
00:08You can do whatever you want, but just because you ask doesn't mean you're getting an answer.
00:13So, about that whole apple thing, you can't taste anything?
00:20Not entirely. I can taste blood.
00:24Nothing else?
00:25Nothing. And I don't think I can feel full, either.
00:29You don't think? You talk like you've never had a good meal before.
00:34I haven't. Not normal food, at least. Not since I became a demon.
00:39So, what have you been eating?
00:42Please. You were in that prison with me.
00:47I'm sorry.
00:48Forget it. This is just what I am now. As long as I have a recipe, I can still cook.
00:54And now I don't even have to worry about how it tastes.
00:58I suppose.
00:59Food keeps my strength up. That's all I care about.
01:08Oh, yeah. The guy at that weapon shop gave me some booze for the trip. I nearly forgot about it.
01:13You really think it's a good idea to drink when we've got demons to fight?
01:17A little drink'll warm me up.
01:19I thought you couldn't feel the cold.
01:21That's true, I suppose.
01:23Well, I'm not drinking it anyway. I'm using it for something.
01:26Like what? Got some wounds to clean?
01:29That's one use for it, sure. But I've got something more practical in mind.
01:33By pouring it on the pegs that hold the blade and hilt together, the wood will swell and hold everything
01:39firmly in place in battle.
01:41You've got such a one-track mind, I swear.
01:44That's just the kind of demon I am.
01:47That's just the kind of demon I am.
01:47That's just the kind of demon I am.
01:49That's just the kind of demon I am.
01:49That's just the kind of demon I am.
