00:00Across France, there are thousands of spectacular chateaux, many being brought back to life.
00:10I'm actually a little bit nervous.
00:14By intrepid owners.
00:17Good lord.
00:19Who are relishing the challenge.
00:22And it's not the lightest of furniture, with it being chateau furniture.
00:26Of transforming them into stunning homes.
00:31Wow.
00:31This is spectacular.
00:33Welcome to your empire suite.
00:36It's your bride.
00:38And successful businesses.
00:41Long day, but fabulous wedding.
00:44They will ride every high.
00:49And battle every low.
00:52It's really annoying.
00:53We haven't got time for this.
00:54To follow their dream.
00:57It is emotional.
01:00Flipping ears.
01:01Of a beautiful life in France.
01:04Cheers to you.
01:05Here's to you.
01:06Here's to you.
01:07Where home is their very own castle.
01:15Today.
01:18One couple are faced with a porcelain nightmare, as they prepare for a dream wedding.
01:26Oh my goodness.
01:27I don't know when that was last used, but that looks like about 30 years ago.
01:30Yuck.
01:32Problems mount for these, Chatelain.
01:35Oh, for heaven's sakes.
01:36So those look like the exact same colour.
01:38They do.
01:39One is supposed to be like three shades darker than the other.
01:42And it's new beginnings for one lucky family.
01:46Yeah, let's go inside.
01:47That's just the entrance.
01:48How beautiful.
01:59In the stunning Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of Western France lies the majestic 19th century Chateau de la Boutiniere.
02:12Set in 52 acres, it comes with magical turrets and 47 elegant rooms.
02:24Gradually restoring it to its former glory is Alison, an interior designer, and Zion, a master builder,
02:35who snapped it up for 580,000 pounds in 2021.
02:42This Chateau is everything we ever wanted.
02:45It's a fairy tale.
02:46There's nothing I don't like about it.
02:48With 47 rooms to play with, this place is just an interior designer's dream.
02:53It is a lovely place.
02:55Since we moved in, we've done a lot.
02:58Everybody's asking, when would you finish?
03:00We say, I don't think we ever finish, because we probably have to go back to the beginning.
03:08Located 30 miles from the city of Poitiers, Alison and Zion have started to run the Chateau as a wedding
03:16venue.
03:17I will announce you, husband and wife.
03:21And the last time we saw them, they added another string to their bow by transforming part of the grounds
03:28into a stunning landscaped garden.
03:33Wow, we are there.
03:35I'm so proud of this garden.
03:37It's had so much work.
03:38But look at it now.
03:43Today, with the summer in full bloom, Alison and Zion are gearing up for their biggest ever wedding.
03:52The marquee that they're using is huge and we've had to prepare a huge piece of ground to accommodate it.
03:59And then we said, what about toilets?
04:02You know, you've got 150 people.
04:04And water toilets in France are extortionately expensive.
04:07We need to do something.
04:09They're just hoping they might be able to salvage some in an old farmhouse.
04:16Oh, my goodness.
04:17But it's been abandoned for decades.
04:21I don't know when that was last used, but that looks like about 30 years ago.
04:25Yuck.
04:26We have one toilet here behind us.
04:28And then there's another one behind that wall.
04:31So we have to take this wall down so they can come through one door.
04:37You know, otherwise they'll have to go all round.
04:39And that's just the technical bit.
04:40I've then got to make it look beautiful.
04:45With only a couple of weeks until the big day, they're hoping the other side is in better shape.
04:53Where did all this come from? Is this stuff we bought?
04:55We bought, we collect, we hide.
04:58Oh, wow.
05:00It seems to have accumulated a lot of things.
05:02We've got everything, including the kitchen in here.
05:06This job, as with every chateau job, has just magnified by 100.
05:10I didn't even know there was a single thing in here, let alone all this.
05:15Well, this is the gents' side, so I should go and get on with the ladies' side.
05:19Oh, yeah, you do the ladies, I do the gents.
05:21You get gents' side sorted out.
05:23Well, the gents, as long as I clean the toilet, they'll be all right with this.
05:36Nothing can be more important than helping a bride and groom for their wedding day.
05:42If it's good, they will always remember it.
05:46And if it's bad, they will never forget it.
05:50So we have to make sure they will always remember it.
05:57I hope to think what's living in this.
06:00Off we go!
06:03It's a huge challenge, but Alison and Zion are pulling out all the stops.
06:12All they can hope is that it doesn't drive them up the wall.
06:28In the beautiful Loire Valley lies the magnificent 19th century Chateau de la Croix Boisille.
06:39Sitting in seven acres, it comprises twelve exquisite rooms and an indoor pool and spa area.
06:52In 2019, American artist and antique jewellery dealer Vivienne and her British husband Simon decided to make it their home.
07:05I think I always dreamt of living in a chateau.
07:09I think a lot of little girls who spend a lot of time reading fairy tales think how marvelous it
07:15would be to meet Prince Charming.
07:17Now, ideally, he's got a British accent and obviously I'd met Prince Charming.
07:23The castle was a crazy idea, but I loved it.
07:25So my role as Prince Charming, if you like, was really just to try and make that dream come true.
07:29Oh, that's really sweet.
07:32Yeah.
07:35Located an hour's drive south of Le Mans, the couple bought the chateau for £716,000
07:45and share it with their daughter Isabella.
07:50When we last saw them, they'd created a spectacular master bedroom on the top floor.
07:58I'm amazed at what we pulled off.
08:00Yeah.
08:01So many new skills, right?
08:02Things I've never done before I've done in this room.
08:04And that's for the first time.
08:06And that's amazing.
08:09Today, they have a project to tackle for a VIP.
08:14It is a very exciting day here at the chateau because my mother has just arrived and she has also
08:19just retired.
08:20She's been a professional musician and a former opera singer for 60 years.
08:24So we are going to be having a celebration cocktail.
08:27And because the weather is so beautiful, we thought the perfect place to have it is on our terrace, which
08:33is right behind us.
08:34Yeah.
08:34But the terrace is a bit sad.
08:37So the big challenge today is we only have one day to get this whole thing ready.
08:42Yeah.
08:42And there's a lot of stuff we're doing.
08:44So there's definitely a time pressure going here.
08:50With time in short supply, Simon is heading out on a carpentry mission, while Vivienne tackles the soft furnishings.
09:04So the plan for today is that I've got these grubby old cushions from an old salon that we're going
09:09to put on the terrace.
09:10I was going to completely recover them, but I've realized that I don't have enough fabric.
09:14So now what I'm going to try to do is use one side, the ugly side, to kind of be
09:20the waterproof underneath side.
09:22And the first thing I'm going to do is unstitch one side of this, and then I'm going to measure
09:31out on my beautiful fabric here, which is face down, the exact same shape, stitch it up, and hopefully it's
09:38going to work out.
09:43To give the terrace more colour, they want to add some greenery, so Simon's constructing three chateau-sized planters.
09:54We want them to sit even on the floor, so the best way to do that, make sure I've got
09:59four posts exactly the same size.
10:05Yeah, it just looks like I'm getting the right size, you can see that those are perfect.
10:13It's my number one craft. Of all the DIY things that you can do, working with wood and carpentry is
10:18like my best.
10:18And the funny thing is that at school, I failed woodwork.
10:27I absolutely love sewing. We used to live in another chateau. We lived in a much bigger chateau for 17
10:33years.
10:33And when the ceilings are three or four metres tall, and we get quotes for a thousand euros for a
10:38single pair of curtains, I very quickly realised that sewing them myself and trying to get good deals on fabrics
10:45was the way to go.
10:51They seem to have it all under control, but with a party to host in a few hours, they may
10:58be cutting things a little fine.
11:03Coming up, Alison and Zion start to feel the strain.
11:08I don't think either of us appreciated how full on this would be.
11:11And new chateau owners tackle their first ever project.
11:15They came straight off. So that's a win. It's easy. This French chateau life.
11:28In the region of Normandy, in northern France, lies the charming Chateau des Fleurs Violettes.
11:38Worth a quarter of a million pounds, this stunning property was the prize on offer on Chateau DIY, Win the
11:48Dream.
11:50Every finish has to be perfect.
11:52Zav and Tash from Surrey won the competition after creating some amazing designs.
12:01Yay!
12:02Very happy. Beautiful.
12:04The pair who have won Chateau DIY, Win the Dream are Zav and Tash.
12:14Who would like the keys?
12:18Oh, my God!
12:23It's incredible. I can't believe it's happened, really.
12:27Yeah, it really is. I keep saying it's surreal.
12:31We wanted to get married in a French chateau. It's mind-boggling.
12:35We could never, ever have imagined that we would be getting married in our own chateau.
12:40Not a shot.
12:45Zav and Tash's new chateau is located near the historic town of Domfranc.
12:51Can you believe this is our lives now?
12:52Yeah.
12:54And as well as getting married, they'll be moving here with three-year-old daughter Esme and one-year-old
13:01son Jude.
13:03Do you like your new house buggy?
13:05Yeah.
13:06That means yes.
13:09The chateau has huge potential and has 17 rooms spread over three floors.
13:17I guess this is the lounge?
13:19Yeah, that TV room lounge.
13:21TV room, yeah?
13:21I love that.
13:22I love it. I know what I was going to say.
13:24The ceiling rose is fantastic.
13:26Oh, the fireplace. It's gorgeous. Wow.
13:30It's got really good features.
13:32It's gorgeous features.
13:34The castle has lots of character and opportunity in every space.
13:39Oh, yeah.
13:40The balcony room.
13:42It would be a shame not to, like, try to incorporate it into one of the other rooms.
13:46I think if it was, like, part of the master bedroom.
13:49You don't want your bathroom leading out onto a balcony, do you?
13:52Why not?
13:53You could have a nice shower with a good view.
13:55It's quite exhibitionist, though, you do.
13:57I think it's lovely.
14:00It's certainly capturing their imagination.
14:04And outside, it has a stunning garden with various outbuildings.
14:11The outside of the house is really important.
14:14We're getting married in the summer.
14:16In this garden, we just want it to...
14:18Well, we just want it to be beautiful for the photos and everything, don't we?
14:21It's really special.
14:22This is going to be so magical.
14:25Wow! Look at that!
14:28Oh, my God!
14:30Today, to add to the excitement, Zav's parents, Jackie and Andy, have arrived to see the chateau for the first
14:39time.
14:40What do you think?
14:41Wow!
14:42I love it!
14:44That's amazing.
14:45I think we'll probably get married under there.
14:47You've already planned it.
14:48It's a lot of ground, isn't it?
14:50It's huge!
14:50Should we go and have a look inside, then?
14:52Of course!
14:52Yes!
14:54Can't wait!
14:54Can't wait!
14:55Oh!
14:56How does that mean?
14:57Let's go inside!
14:58Oh!
14:59Let's go in!
14:59That's just the entrance!
15:01Oh!
15:02Oh, my goodness!
15:03How beautiful!
15:05Let's have a look what's behind the door!
15:07Let's go in!
15:08Oh, look!
15:10Look!
15:12Oh, gosh!
15:12Into the kitchen!
15:14Kitchen!
15:14I can see myself living here, actually!
15:17Yeah!
15:18Yeah!
15:19Oh, my God!
15:21Oh!
15:22Oh!
15:23Oh, wow!
15:23This is huge!
15:24It's bigger than you think, isn't it?
15:25Yes, it is!
15:27Absolutely!
15:29It seems to have got their approval...
15:32Do you want to see the stairs?
15:34..and there's already one room fully renovated.
15:39Whoa!
15:40And this is our bedroom.
15:46You want to get on there, as well?
15:47That's it now!
15:48Oh, you love too!
15:51The kids are loving it.
15:52Yeah.
15:52The parents are loving it.
15:54No complaints so far.
15:57With everyone happy,
15:59Zav and Tash are eager to get cracking
16:01on their wedding plans
16:04and want to start by sprucing up the tired shutters.
16:09I'm hoping they just lift up together.
16:11Yeah, it should do, but it depends on if it's rusty or not.
16:16Oh, that was easy.
16:17Lower it down.
16:18You can lower it down to me, I think.
16:19Let's see.
16:20OK, good.
16:21Great!
16:22There you go.
16:24And then the other one.
16:27Oh, there you go.
16:27That was even easier.
16:29Yay!
16:31Perfect.
16:34Thought they were going to be rusted shut,
16:35but they came straight off.
16:38So that's a win.
16:39It's easy.
16:40This French chateau life.
16:42OK, OK.
16:43They're off to the ideal start,
16:46but with all the chateau shutters needing to be restored,
16:50the challenge is only just beginning.
17:03In Western France, at Chateau de la Boutiniere,
17:08Alison and Zion's wedding guest bathroom is gradually progressing.
17:14The toilets have been cleared and the rooms now have a direct passage.
17:22This is only half of the battle.
17:25We've still got to clean it, paint it.
17:26We can put a chandelier, maybe, and all these sorts of things
17:29to make this space feel really good.
17:31Am I right?
17:32Absolutely.
17:33What did you say?
17:36Whoop!
17:38Timber!
17:40With the wedding in less than four weeks,
17:43Alison is eager to use some antique treasures
17:47that have been gathering dust.
17:50We brought this outside, this hat and coat stand,
17:54thinking this is going to be an easy job.
17:56And as always, now I realise there's beading missing
17:59and the mirror can't be found.
18:00And it's the usual story.
18:02Everything's so busy, busy, busy.
18:04We just move things and then things get separated.
18:08Believe it or not.
18:09Oh, well done.
18:11That's very good.
18:12We found the mirror.
18:14We're one step closer to having a piece of furniture.
18:17Whether we can finish it off looking nicely or not, I don't know.
18:20But if we can get the mirror in, that's a good start.
18:24Alison's lavish ideas are taking shape.
18:27Shall we just try this?
18:28Let's try it.
18:30And she also has a simple solution
18:32to hide the rest of the clutter
18:35by hanging some old velvet curtains.
18:38I've got pegs there to hold it up.
18:40OK, well, let's...
18:44Happy with the hide there.
18:46So that's actually the perfect length.
18:48Yeah.
18:49That's the perfect answer for all that rubbish.
18:51It's a bit like a theatre, you know.
18:53This is a different room.
18:56Hello.
18:59It is like a stage, isn't it?
19:01I think that's going to work, don't you?
19:03Yeah.
19:04It's another step in the right direction.
19:07But with the whole space still to freshen up,
19:10they're far from home and dry.
19:13It seems that every project we start,
19:16every wedding we start,
19:17it just expands beyond anything that we first discussed.
19:21and that's the way it is at the moment,
19:24because it's just...
19:25everything's new and we need all these facilities.
19:29I don't think either of us appreciated how full on this would be.
19:33They have lots on their plate
19:35and with a wedding to host for 150 guests,
19:39their workload is not going to get any easier.
19:49In the Loire Valley at Chateau de la Croix Boisille,
19:54it's only a couple of hours until Simon and Vivienne's terrace party.
20:01The planter's nearly done.
20:02I just have to put on the decorative balls that we bought.
20:05So this is what makes it a little more Chateau-esque,
20:08is the little pom-poms or the little decorative balls on here.
20:12And there you go, you see, that's finished.
20:17So now I've just got to paint them.
20:19Simon is eager for the planters to be the star attraction
20:24and hopes Vivienne approves.
20:27Oh, my gosh.
20:30Hello.
20:31Wow, these look amazing.
20:33Yeah.
20:33Oh, you got the little balls on top and everything.
20:36Do you like them? Yeah, I think they look pretty...
20:37They are so perfect.
20:41And they roll.
20:42They roll as well, yeah.
20:43They're so big.
20:44We looked at buying them online and they were €350 each.
20:48Can you imagine if we'd spent €1,000 on these?
20:51Yeah.
20:52This is great, you know.
20:53So clever, you're so clever.
20:56Thank you, glad you're happy.
20:57They look beautiful, I'm ecstatic.
21:00Having got a big thumbs up,
21:03Vivienne's aiming to do an equally impressive job with the cushions.
21:09OK, did this work out?
21:14I think it's going to work just fine.
21:17There's the cushion.
21:18I just need to finish off the edge with a zipper.
21:21I'm really pleased and I do think it's a beautiful fabric.
21:24One down, three to go.
21:28It's proving to be straightforward.
21:31And in the kitchen, Isabella's in charge of making the party food.
21:38We're going with a pink and white theme for all of our food.
21:41Luckily, it's lots of easy items, but I'm definitely feeling the pressure a little bit.
21:46It all seems to be running smoothly.
21:50And Simon hopes the pink shades they've bought for the planters will also follow suit.
21:57That's a very pale pink there.
21:59OK, so that's one shade and then we need the other shade as well.
22:05OK.
22:07That's a different shade.
22:08You sure?
22:09Yeah.
22:13Oh, for heaven's sakes.
22:15So those look like the exact same colour.
22:17They do.
22:20One is supposed to be like three shades darker than the other.
22:24To me, they look exactly the same shade.
22:26Put this on a piece of paper and see how they dry really quickly.
22:32OK.
22:33The same colour.
22:34Oh, for heaven's sakes.
22:35Are they the same colour?
22:35They're exactly the same paint.
22:38I like the colour.
22:40It literally matches your dress.
22:42It's like he saw your dress and mixed it.
22:46OK, well, anyway, this is what we've got to work with.
22:49Good luck.
22:52It might not be perfect, but all they can hope for is that it will be all right on the
22:58big night.
23:05Still to come.
23:07Zion gets tied up in knots.
23:10Where would this go? I don't know.
23:12Maybe like this.
23:14And it's a race against time for Simon and Vivienne.
23:18Definitely. Now, we really need to hurry.
23:30In Western France, at Alison and Zion's, it's the day before they host their biggest ever wedding.
23:38And the preparations are well underway.
23:43I think we're almost there. It's been a year in the planning.
23:46The bride and groom are Anna and Harry.
23:47And they've got all their friends here.
23:49They've come over from the UK.
23:50I don't think they've ever been to a chateau before, a lot of them.
23:53So it's all very exciting.
23:57Today, they're eager to get the wedding guest bathroom looking chateau-esque.
24:02This is the last step.
24:04We've got a three-piece suite.
24:06We've got a couple of mirrors.
24:07We've got some candlesticks.
24:09Various things.
24:10It's going to look really chic.
24:12First up is the antique hat and coat stand.
24:16Just go to the back, have a look.
24:18Yep.
24:19That's fine.
24:24We like to drill in vacuum at the same time, so no dust.
24:29That's it.
24:32Don't you love it?
24:34This little place needs to be really functional, but actually, I'm going completely over the top.
24:39I'm loving every minute of it.
24:43Alison is in her element.
24:46I just love that.
24:48And even has some opulent his-and-hers signs for the toilets.
24:54All these little finishing touches.
24:56I'll put it.
24:57Are just me humouring myself.
25:00It's all about the detail.
25:03I suppose this is a humour.
25:07We're dancing now.
25:09So many little tiny pieces.
25:12There we go.
25:13With the job done, Alison decides to check in on the guests, leaving Zeon to finish off.
25:23She's going to say no good, she'll have to change, but it's the way it goes, you know?
25:30She's the designer.
25:34Where would this go? I don't know.
25:37Maybe like this.
25:42Where would it be?
25:44So they can see it.
25:45I suppose here.
25:47So, it looks alright.
25:49And Zeon's hoping that Alison agrees.
25:55Oh, look at this.
25:57Design director.
25:58Anything missing?
26:00I think I will put that, that side.
26:04You don't walk into the back of a sofa.
26:07And it'll block people.
26:10You can put that chair where you had that one.
26:15Lovely.
26:19Just a few weeks ago, this run-down farmhouse, with two dishevelled bathrooms, was nothing more than a dumping ground.
26:31Now, it's been transformed into a chic and elegant restroom, with sparkling toilets and a spacious lobby.
26:43It's perfect for their guests to freshen up in true Chateau style.
26:50It looks amazing.
26:52We've got furniture in there.
26:53We've got our carpet in there.
26:55We have literally...
26:56It looks like Savoy Hotel.
26:59They've done an excellent job.
27:01And with their biggest event of the year happening tomorrow, all they can hope is that their hard work won't
27:09go down the drain.
27:18Taking on the challenge of renovating any size of French Chateau is far from straightforward.
27:26We're not new to gardening, but this is on a completely different level, isn't it?
27:31While it can often prove challenging...
27:35There's only another 189 square metres to do.
27:39Restoring its unique features can bring great rewards.
27:46What do you think?
27:48Yeah, nice. Really nice.
27:50Cheers to the fountain.
27:52Cheers.
27:54In south-west France, at Chateau de la Salle, Christina and Sassan are about to start their own restoration project,
28:04after discovering an old bench.
28:08It's fun to just kind of find stuff laying around.
28:11Sometimes we find stuff in the overgrowth of the garden like this.
28:15It's got some character and it's solid iron, so we thought we would restore it and then put it out
28:22by the pool, where people sit and relax.
28:25Hopefully that'll work out.
28:28With the bench in a state of disrepair, the first task is to remove the rotten wood.
28:35Okay, I want to start with the two bottom ones.
28:37The hard part is probably going to be getting the old screws off because they're all rusted together.
28:42But we've got the angle grinder for that, so once we get that off, then we can start putting it
28:47back together.
28:48Easy peasy, right?
28:51Sassan is, at least, ahead of the game, as he's already painted the new replacement wood.
28:58It took me about seven hours to paint 22 bars.
29:02It's exactly two metres which is the length of this.
29:06So the idea is to take two or three out from here and then go up.
29:15They've never attempted this before, so they're just hoping it's a case of out with the old and in with
29:26the new.
29:27I don't know if it's lined up.
29:29Ah, okay.
29:37As with anything, once you get the hang of what you're doing and actually figure out what the strategy is,
29:43it goes a lot faster.
29:44Think of such a simple bench has got 22 bars.
29:51Having once been DIY novices before they moved here in 2022, Christina and Sassan can now turn their hands to
30:01almost anything.
30:03I was always thinking that I would be doing a lot of DIY projects.
30:09What sort, I didn't know.
30:11I was petrified of the things that I needed to do and I had absolutely zero knowledge of.
30:17Nights before big projects where I can't sleep, we wake up thinking, oh, how are we going to fix that
30:22one issue that we know is going to be difficult.
30:25And then it's once you start doing it, it becomes a lot easier.
30:30You're happy with that?
30:31Uh, yeah.
30:34Next part you have to do is...
30:36No, I don't.
30:37Nine left of 22.
30:41I love seeing things develop very quickly.
30:45Other projects that take months aren't as satisfying as this.
30:50That you get to see the fruit of your labor all in one day.
30:53Almost there.
31:12You want to test it out? Sit straight in the middle?
31:15No, I'm sure it doesn't break.
31:17The weakest point.
31:20It's comfortable. Not bad.
31:27Just a few hours ago, the old garden bench was damp, damaged and decrepit.
31:36Now, it's been given a new lease of life that will last for many years to come.
31:43I have ice down here.
31:46Ooh, that's American stuff.
31:48And with temperatures set to soar this summer, it's the perfect addition to their pool-side setup.
31:56The project is done. We can just relax a little bit.
32:00It really doesn't get much better than this.
32:02So, you're happy?
32:04Yeah.
32:05Cheers.
32:06Cheers.
32:07It's been a job well done.
32:10And it looks like Christina and Sasan won't be going anywhere any time soon.
32:24Over in the Loire Valley, it's all systems go.
32:29Hey, now, are you going to be able to reach down and grab them like that?
32:32Yeah, absolutely.
32:34Vivienne and Simon are preparing for their party.
32:38Don't forget my legs are shorter than yours.
32:39I know.
32:41And with their giant planters finished, they need to be safely carried to the first-floor terrace.
32:48These things are huge.
32:50Tell me when it's flat. Wait, wait, wait, wait.
32:52Yeah, yeah.
32:53Am I on the top?
32:55Nope.
32:55Not yet.
32:56One more step, I think.
32:56Okay.
32:59Take it easy.
33:00Yeah, not too fast.
33:01Okay.
33:02One more.
33:03That's it.
33:04Are you okay?
33:05Yeah, careful.
33:06Okay, now, the good news is...
33:08Oh, is there good news?
33:08You can put it down here.
33:10Oh, yes.
33:10Oh, my gosh.
33:12That's good.
33:12That is good news.
33:13Because we have rollers.
33:17There you go.
33:18How does that look?
33:19Yeah, I do like it.
33:22They're off to an encouraging start, but with Vivienne's mum and friends arriving imminently,
33:30they're very short on time.
33:33Definitely feeling like now we really need to hurry.
33:39Your cushions are lovely.
33:42Yeah.
33:42They're so pretty.
33:46Don't have time to unpot all of these plants, and so we just stick them in the planters.
33:51I think it'll be fine.
33:52Oopsie-daisy.
33:54Take that.
33:57Ooh.
33:58So pretty.
34:00I think it's done.
34:01Beautiful.
34:05Just a few hours ago, their first floor terrace was bare, lifeless, and uninspiring.
34:16Now, it's become a stylish and charming place to entertain.
34:22By recovering cushions in chic fabric and creating handmade planters, they've given the
34:29space an elegant feel, while a delightful feast and champagne table ensures it's the
34:38perfect setting for a very special occasion.
34:43Okay, Mom, you're the guest of honor.
34:46This is a little cocktail surprise for you to celebrate your retirement.
34:51Oh, my goodness.
34:53Oh, my goodness.
34:54That's beautiful.
34:56So gorgeous.
34:57We know how you love Rose.
34:59Oh, beautiful.
35:01Isabella has created an entire canapé menu of predominantly pink and white items.
35:08Pink and white with a little green.
35:11To join in with the festivities, close friends Mark and Rushton have also been invited.
35:18Tonight, we are celebrating my mother's retirement.
35:2260 years as a professional musician.
35:25Here's to you.
35:28Happy retirement.
35:30Would you please grace us with a few notes on the piano?
35:34Please.
35:35How can I say no to you?
35:51It was fantastic.
35:52It was a lovely, lovely thing for Nina's retirement.
35:58It was a good evening.
36:00It's a nice terrace.
36:01It has a nice view over the garden.
36:02It's lovely up there.
36:03Certainly enjoyed it.
36:04It looks very much like what we were aiming for.
36:07And it was a nice place to have a party this evening, a little cocktail party.
36:10And although, you know, we're a little bit late getting there, we pulled it together.
36:14We were able to pay tribute to my mother, tribute to her love of roses, her love of the colour
36:20rose.
36:20It was great.
36:21It was.
36:21It was.
36:22I'm very proud of it.
36:23It's proved to be a triumph.
36:26And with a new entertaining space to enjoy, Vivienne and Simon are set to host a lot more parties.
36:39Coming up, the pressure builds for Alison and Zion.
36:44It's going.
36:46And Zav and Tash get a dose of chateau reality.
36:50I thought we were a fifth of the way through.
36:53It turns out we're not.
37:01In Normandy, in northern France, Zav and Tash are preparing their new chateau for their own wedding.
37:11Just finish sanding this one side and I will just quickly give the other side the same.
37:18While Tash continues to spruce up the shutters, Zav and his dad, Andy, are tidying the overgrown facade.
37:28We are just pruning back the wisteria.
37:31If we want it to look good for the wedding, we need to prune it all back so it flowers
37:36properly.
37:36But it's going to be a long job.
37:39I've just mixed up the blue.
37:41It looks really lovely.
37:42So I'm just going to go in with the first coat and see how it goes.
37:46And we're going back now.
37:49Oh, it's nice.
37:52Come see Zav if you like it.
37:55Yeah, that's great.
37:58Love that.
37:59We kind of hoped that the blue shutters would be a nice contrast against the purple wisteria when that comes
38:04out, don't we, honey?
38:05Yeah, it'd be beautiful, won't it?
38:07Yeah.
38:09Their colourful transformation is underway and they're already loving their new life.
38:16I feel like our families have been at home here the second they walk through the door, which is lovely.
38:22We rely on our parents to help, don't we?
38:24We all just pitch in together and help each other, which is nice.
38:29It's probably just as well.
38:31As with all the shutters to repaint, it could take a while.
38:37It's 12, isn't it?
38:39No.
38:39Yeah?
38:42No.
38:42Why?
38:44Because count.
38:46Yeah, but there's two on the side of the house, aren't there?
38:49No.
38:49Yeah?
38:51There are.
38:51Are there?
38:52Yeah.
38:53On the side of the salon.
38:55I thought we were a fifth of the way through.
38:57Turns out we're not.
38:59Sorry.
39:01Slow but steady wins the race.
39:08I think we're almost there.
39:10Hopefully they look nice when they're up.
39:13Tash's family have also now arrived.
39:17Are you OK?
39:19Yeah.
39:20And they're eager to show off their handiwork.
39:25Right.
39:27Line me up.
39:29I got it.
39:35Ta-da!
39:36Yay!
39:37One job done.
39:38Well done.
39:39It looks really good.
39:40I'm looking forward to seeing what our family think of them.
39:43Oh, it's beautiful.
39:45Wow.
39:46That's such a beautiful colour.
39:48Such a lovely colour.
39:50That's so beautiful.
39:51Such a good job.
39:51Well done.
39:53It looks gorgeous.
39:55Two done.
39:56Eight to go.
39:57Twelve to go.
40:00First job done.
40:01First job done.
40:03Pretty pleased with that.
40:05Yeah.
40:05They look great.
40:06Yeah.
40:06And it feels good to have made a start.
40:08Yeah.
40:09The family seemed to like it, didn't they?
40:10They love it.
40:11They loved it.
40:12They love everything we do now because we have a chateau, so...
40:16If they want to keep coming, they have to keep us sweet.
40:20Zav and Tash's French adventure has begun.
40:24And with a chateau wedding to look forward to, their dream new life is slowly becoming a reality.
40:33Yeah.
40:44Over in Western France, it's only a couple of hours until Alison and Zion host their biggest ever wedding.
40:53We're all under control and everything's working, everybody's helping, everything's on time.
41:00It's all running like clockwork and the ceremony area outside the hunting lodge is almost set.
41:09Just going to pop to the marquee to make sure everything's on track there.
41:12I think, at the moment, Zion and I are just plugging holes.
41:16With 150 people to cater for, it's a huge operation and Alison is leaving nothing to chance.
41:27Everything's good?
41:29All going well?
41:30Yeah, thank you.
41:31Everything is almost ready now.
41:33Beautiful.
41:34Beautiful.
41:35And with their newly landscaped garden on display for the first time, Zion is eager to showcase his pride and
41:44joy.
41:46Just to make sure that we are working.
41:50Woohoo!
41:51It's going.
41:55We are now in full flow, getting all the things out that only can be done literally hours before the
42:01ceremony.
42:02They've all done something.
42:03Their uncle has done the flowers, somebody else has done the signs.
42:06It's lovely.
42:06Their parents, friends doing the ball, the cake.
42:09Yes.
42:10Everything.
42:11It's a real homemade wedding and it's just a privilege to be part of it.
42:16With the sun shining, it's turning into an idyllic day.
42:22And with the guests beginning to take their seats, it appears only groom Harry is feeling the heat.
42:30I've got a full crew of like...
42:32Josh, that's your job all day.
42:34Fan people.
42:36With the scene set and everyone in position, it's showtime for bride Anna.
42:44On behalf of Anna and Harry, I would like to welcome you all to this celebration of their marriage.
42:54Today's ceremony is a statement that Anna and Harry intend to share for the rest of their lives together.
43:02As witnesses to this marriage celebration between Anna and Harry, we support you in the love you share.
43:11We support you in the love you share.
43:14We pronounce you wife and husband.
43:17We pronounce you wife and husband.
43:21You may kiss.
43:29This is what it's all about. This is just the best.
43:33That's what it's for, isn't it? This place.
43:36It's magical, isn't it?
43:38We did it!
43:41Now the nuptials are out of the way, the celebrations can truly begin.
43:57We're having an amazing time.
43:59This place is just extraordinary.
44:01Idyllic for a wedding.
44:03It's unreal. It is unreal.
44:05Alison and Zeon literally are incredible people.
44:08And they've created an incredible day.
44:10So, yeah, legends. Let's call them legends.
44:14It's proved to be a huge success.
44:16So, Alison and Zeon can finally start to relax.
44:21Today has been actually wonderful.
44:24I've really enjoyed it. I got really quite emotional.
44:27It's all gone extremely well.
44:29I'm so proud of this place. Everybody's been loving it.
44:32If this is how weddings going to be, I would say bring them on. No problem.
44:37Yeah.
44:38It's been five years in the making.
44:41But now the Chateau is officially a lavish wedding venue.
44:46Alison and Zeon can look forward to making many more couples' dreams come true.
45:11You know my job because he changed his time.
45:24You know my tune.
45:25I'm so proud of them.
45:25Well we have to walk around.
45:25Her mom's küll's freedom is in that utility肉ап.
45:25It's not just your cuerpo down point año.
