00:00:39The End
00:01:05In the great gold rush, Alaska was the hope and dream of way-worn men.
00:01:09The ruthless siren of the far north, beckoning thousands to her icy bosom,
00:01:13beckoning thousands to her unknown regions.
00:01:15The Chilkoot Pass was the great barrier to the gold fields.
00:01:18Over this pass, men faced untold misery and hardship.
00:01:21Many lost their lives. Some fell exhausted the wayside.
00:01:24Others lost courage and turned back.
00:01:25But the brave went on.
00:01:31Far into the icy north, deep into the silent nowhere,
00:01:34came an undaunted lone prospector.

00:02:22And somewhere in that nowhere was another lone prospector.
00:02:32With cheerful optimism, our little Columbus descended into the vast, uncharted waste,
00:02:36then stopped, stepped, slipped, and slid.
00:02:54Now, let me see, thought the little fellow.
00:02:56Before I know where I am, I must get there.

00:03:11The End
00:03:39There in that frozen wilderness a dream came true,
00:03:41And a lone voice shrieked into the solemn sky.
00:03:44Eureka, I found it!
00:03:45A mountain of gold.
00:03:53But the elements laughed, roared, and thundered.
00:04:00But the elements laughed, roared, and thundered.
00:04:27The End
00:04:44And out of the lashing storm into the moaning shack came the little fellow.
00:04:47To find shelter, perhaps a little hospitality.
00:05:02And there he sat resting his weary bones as the icy wind howled through the knothole.

00:05:39I'm here, said Lawson.
00:05:41What are you doing?
00:05:43Eating, obviously, said the little fellow.
00:05:45Get out.
00:05:46Get out.
00:05:50Get out.
00:05:52Get out.
00:05:55Go on.
00:05:57Go on.
00:05:58Get out.
00:06:06Get out.
00:06:08And the wind also was giving Big Jim his troubles.
00:06:11Thank you, sir.
00:06:11Thank you, sir.
00:06:56Big Jim was the noble type.
00:06:58He had suffered.
00:06:59Oh, how he loved to suffer.
00:07:00He suffered about everything.
00:07:25Get out.
00:07:26Get out, said Black Larson, or I'll fill you both full of lead.
00:07:37Now then, the pair of you get out.
00:07:40Out!
00:07:42That kind of noise, Jim don't tolerate.
00:08:35I'll stay right here, understand?
00:08:37Right here, said Big Jim.
00:08:40Yes, sir.
00:08:41He'll stay right here, said the little fellow.
00:08:51Understand?
00:08:52We stay right here.
00:08:59And stay they did for days and nights, and their cabin moaned and groaned, and two men
00:09:04walked and never talked, and hunger gnawed their bones.
00:09:14I must have food, dear old big Jim.
00:09:17I must have food.
00:09:46So, here we go.
00:09:57What are you eating, said Black Larson?
00:10:00Nothing, said the little fellow.
00:10:02Open your mouth.
00:10:14Liar, it's that candle.
00:10:16That, said the little fellow?
00:10:18How revolting.
00:10:22If I thought you were holding out on me, I'd switch a gizzard.
00:10:32What are you eating, said Black Larson?
00:10:54One of us must brave that storm, said Big Jim, if we're to get food.
00:11:00Come here, the pair of you.
00:11:04We'll cut the cards and the low man goes.
00:11:23You're the man, said Jim.
00:11:32Goodbye, good luck, said the little fellow.
00:11:33Don't forget to bring home the bacon.
00:11:59Somewhere in that nowhere, the law was looking for Black Larson.
00:12:03Oh, my God.
00:12:05Oh, my God.
00:12:26Oh, my God.
00:12:30Oh, my God.
00:13:04Desperate with hunger, and here it was, Thanksgiving Day.
00:13:07Nevertheless, there was something to be thankful for.
00:13:20Not quite done yet, said the little fellow.
00:13:21Give it two more minutes.
00:13:22Come on, come on, said Big Jim.
00:13:24Big Jim.
00:13:54Big Jim.
00:13:56Big Jim.
00:13:58Big Jim.
00:14:11Big Jim.

00:14:31Big Jim.
00:14:32Big Jim.
00:14:36Big Jim.
00:15:57After scouring the country for food, the little fellow had to admit he had seen nothing.
00:16:02Not even a field mouse.
00:16:13From the pangs of hunger, Big Jim was becoming delirious, hysterical.
00:16:17In fact, it was a pain in the neck.
00:16:19Food, food, he thundered.
00:16:24I can put another shoe in the pot, said the little fellow.
00:16:26No, no.
00:16:27Anything but that.
00:16:31Poor Jim.
00:16:32He couldn't take it.
00:16:40To be continued...
00:16:41Come on.
00:16:41Oh, my God.
00:17:23What's the matter, said the little fellow?
00:17:25I thought you were a chicken.
00:17:35Oh, well, build up the fire, said Big Jim.
00:18:00What's the matter with you, said the little fellow?
00:18:03Come, my pretty bird, said Big Jim.
00:18:05Don't be childish.
00:18:18Hey, quit it.
00:18:19Don't be foolish.
00:18:19It's me.
00:18:23You, said Jim.
00:18:26I'm sorry.
00:18:26I must be crazy.
00:18:28Huh.
00:18:28You're telling me, said the little fellow.
00:18:34There, now.
00:18:34You go inside, and I'll take the gun in case you lose it.
00:18:36Oh, my God.
00:18:37Oh, my God.
00:19:05Chicken or no chicken, the little fella looks appetizing to Big Jim.

00:29:15Kind of fresh, ain't she, thought Jack?
00:29:17Get down off that high horse.
00:29:18Me and you are gonna dance.
00:29:21Hey there, pan out a tune.
00:29:27Just a moment.
00:29:28I said we're gonna dance.
00:29:29I beg your pardon, said Georgia.
00:29:31And to show her how to contempt for Jack, she picked out the most deplorable looking tramp in the dance
00:29:36hall.
00:29:37Hey you, come here.
00:29:42Yes, you.
00:29:42Do you want to dance?
00:29:47You see, I'm very particular whom I dance with.

00:33:08If you want to make a hit with your lady friend, said Jack, you should tidy up and put your
00:33:11head on straight like this.
00:33:14Take that, you ouch!
00:33:27Ah, very good. Didn't know me own strength, said the little fellow.
00:33:56Hank Curtis Cabin was just a stone's throw from the dance hall.
00:33:59Hank was a mining engineer who lived alone and who occasionally went on long expeditions into the far north.
00:34:05Hank was kind and human, and our hero cold and hungry, and the beans smelled good and the coffee was
00:34:10steaming hot.
00:34:11So the little fellow devised a way of getting breakfast.

00:38:01There she stood, her loveliness lighting the room,
00:38:04filling his soul with the music of romance for which he was so ill-fitted.
00:38:08And as she introduced her friends, his heart began to sing.
00:38:25As they warmed themselves by the stove, he excused himself to get fire.
00:39:04And in that cabin, his secret was revealed, his love for Georgia.
00:39:09And the girls giggled and laughed, perhaps in order to hide their pity.
00:39:13For in the world of the dance hall, it wasn't wise for the girls to reveal their hearts.
00:39:17And so they thought they would have a little fun with him.
00:39:26There in the gloaming they sat, their faces alight with mischief.
00:39:30But all the while, his heart was singing.
00:39:56And so she fooled and flirted and stroked his hair.
00:39:59He knew she was fooling, but he was happy.
00:40:01For she was near him, holding his hand, smiling at him.
00:40:15Nice place you have here, said Georgia.
00:40:17I hope you will invite us again.
00:40:19What if she were fooling?
00:40:20He was enjoying the warmth of her attention.
00:40:23And the lady was enjoying the warmth of his chair.
00:40:48And now she was leaving.
00:40:50The light of her loveliness would be gone.
00:40:52And he would be left with an emptiness.
00:40:54To return to his bleak, lonely existence.
00:40:56Pardon me, said the little fellow.
00:40:58But, uh, he was lost for words.
00:41:03But would you really like to come again?
00:41:05Oh, of course, said Georgia.
00:41:06What do you say, girls?
00:41:08We'll come for dinner, New Year's Eve, said the ladies.
00:41:10Very well, said Georgia.
00:41:11We'll come to dinner, New Year's Eve.
00:41:25We'll come to dinner, New Year's Eve.
00:42:11And, of course, at that moment,
00:42:13Georgia would forget her gloves.
00:42:33For the next few days, the little fellow hustled and shoveled
00:42:37in order to buy that New Year's dinner.

00:46:27Georgia.
00:46:28So he muttered and stuttered and finally said,
00:46:30I can't make a speech, but I'll do a dance.

00:50:19Let's go up and visit the little lang syne
00:50:48We'll have a little fun with him, said Jack
00:50:49We'll send Georgia in first, then give him a scare
00:51:18Let's go up and visit the little lang syne
00:51:46Oh, forget it, said Jack
00:51:47How about giving me a little attention
00:52:10A day or so later in the recorder's office
00:52:13Big Jim tried to convince the assayers
00:52:15That he had a mountain of gold
00:52:20Where is this place, they said
00:52:22But Big Jim's memory had failed him
00:52:25All he knew was
00:52:26That it was near the cabin
00:52:35The cabin, that's it
00:52:36If I could find my way to the cabin
00:52:38I could find the mine
00:52:41But I can't remember
00:52:58Hey, said Jack
00:52:59Your lady friend, Georgia's been looking for you
00:53:00But the little fellow knew otherwise
00:53:02How dare that cat mention her name so lightly
00:53:04For two pins, he would give him another thrashing
00:53:07However, at that moment, being a little underweight
00:53:09He would ignore the insult
00:53:23But it was true
00:53:24Georgia had been looking for him
00:53:26Georgia had written him a letter
00:53:47And as he went looking for Georgia
00:53:49So Big Jim went looking for him
00:53:59You, you said Big Jim
00:54:05You, the very man I've been looking for
00:54:09In the cabin, in the cabin
00:54:11Where is it?
00:54:11Answer me, I say, answer me
00:54:12Can't you speak, man?
00:54:14Tell me, tell me
00:54:15Where's the cabin?
00:54:17The cabin, where is it?
00:54:19At last, I shall find my mountain of gold
00:54:21To your feet, man, quick
00:54:23You're coming with me
00:54:24Take me to the cabin
00:54:25And I'll make you a millionaire
00:54:26In less than a month
00:54:31Georgia
00:54:32Just a moment, said the little fellow
00:54:36Ah, Georgia
00:54:42You don't have to explain, I understand
00:54:43I love you
00:54:44I'm going to take you away from this life
00:54:46I'm going away
00:54:47And when I return
00:54:47I shall come back
00:55:01Exhausted and foot-weary
00:55:02They arrived at the cabin
00:55:08Ah, said Big Jim
00:55:09It won't be long now
00:55:10Bring in the yeast
00:55:11And tomorrow we'll start for the mine
00:55:14Here, take a swig of this
00:55:15It'll put hair on your top coat
00:55:21What do you say
00:55:22Then the tuber looked at?
00:55:25Ah, what do you say
00:55:38Are you going to take the shower?
00:55:38Did you see, say, get a swig of this
00:55:39Theena
00:55:52My, this is a heavy lamb chop, said the little fellow.
00:56:18The End
00:56:55Then fate, it's always fate, played its little joke.
00:56:58And again the elements laughed, roared and thundered.
00:57:01But through it all, our heroes soundly slumbered.
00:57:32And the little fellow awoke, blissfully ignorant of what had happened the night before, but feeling definitely conscious of the
00:57:37morning after.
00:57:55Oh, well, thought the little fellow may as well tidy up and get breakfast.
00:58:22This is the worst liver attack I've ever had, thought the little fellow.
00:58:37Feel that rocking?
00:58:39It's the stomach.
00:58:51The End
00:59:05The End
00:59:30It's not the stomach.
00:59:45Let's go to the other side, Sir Jim.
00:59:47We'll see how far it'll go over.
01:00:12Something must be missing underneath, said the little fellow.
01:00:17I'll go outside and see what it is.
01:00:22The End
01:00:23The End
01:00:30The End
01:00:39The End
01:00:48The End
01:01:11Now, said Big Jim, don't get excited.
01:01:13Take it easy.
01:01:14Take it easy.
01:01:15Don't move.
01:01:15Don't breathe.
01:01:19I said, don't breathe, stupid.
01:01:26You can be most annoying at times.
01:01:32If you'll only be cool, be calm, said Big Jim, we have nothing to worry about.
01:01:45The End
01:01:51Now, show a little character.
01:01:52Where's your willpower?
01:01:59The End
01:02:00Now, listen, said Big Jim.
01:02:01I've got a very good idea.
01:02:02Hold your hands like this, then I can get out first.
01:02:29You see what I mean, said Big Jim?
01:02:30Your mind is chaotic.
01:02:32You have no psychology.
01:02:33You have no control.
01:02:54And Big Jim discovered his claim.
01:03:06The End
01:03:07The End
01:03:33Now we shall be rich, said Jim.
01:03:34We shall be millionaires.
01:03:38And so they were.
01:04:00And now they were homeward bound and they were leaving the hardship and toil of Alaska.
01:04:04To live in the land of milk and honey.
01:04:06To live, laugh and indulge themselves in the lap of luxury.
01:04:09And they were famous and they were sought after by the press.
01:04:19In their cabin de luxe, they were welcomed and waited upon.
01:04:40And the reporter wanted to write the little fellow's life story from rags to riches.
01:04:44And he graciously consented.
01:04:58And Big Jim was manicured.
01:05:00No, not the nails, said he.
01:05:02The corns.
01:05:05And the reporter thought of a good idea.
01:05:07To have the little fellow pose in his mining clothes.
01:05:09It would make a human story.
01:05:20Georgia.
01:05:32And there she was in the steerage.
01:05:34Neither one knowing of the other's presence.
01:05:36And Georgia overheard the officer say there was a stowaway aboard.
01:05:44The officer from rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags
01:05:49to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags.
01:05:50The officer from rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags
01:05:54to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags
01:05:56to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags
01:05:56to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags
01:05:59to rags to rags to rags to rags to rags.
01:06:11The End
01:06:42The End
01:07:08You said Georgia
01:07:09I thought I'd never see you again
01:07:11And then she mistook him from the stowaway
01:07:28And the officer was going to put him in irons
01:07:31But Georgia pleaded for him and said she would pay his fare
01:07:43Heck, said the captain, that's no stowaway
01:07:45That's Big Jim's partner, the multimillionaire
01:07:50And of course there were apologies
01:07:53And the little fellow gathered himself together
01:07:55And James, the valet, was told to prepare for an extra guest
01:08:07Pardon me, said the reporter, but who's the lady?
01:08:11As of us does
01:08:12Oh, you don't say
01:08:13Well, congratulations
01:08:15Say, this will make a great story
01:08:16And with a happy ending
01:08:19And so it was
01:08:20A happy ending
01:08:45A happy ending
