00:00So this one was from Bloomberg. It was from earlier in the week. New York City's Knicks fans
00:04agonize over reselling their seats for $72,000. So there was agony about that. Yes, here's the
00:09agony. Okay, so we're talking about the season ticket holders, right? People who had them in
00:13families for decades. You know, they had them and they can buy seats to the NBA finals at face value.
00:19Sure. Which is still a lot. The question is, do they go to the game or do you sell them?
00:25Because
00:25you can get so much money. There's some tickets going for $100,000. Can you witness this moment
00:30you've been waiting forever to see or do you pay for your kid to go to college? It is crazy.
00:35There
00:35was one guy, okay, he said he was in Section 200. That's where his tickets are. He paid $750 per
00:40ticket. I looked this morning on the sites like Vivid Seat, SeatGeek. Tickets there are now $15,000
00:46to $20,000. Wow. And he only paid $780 for one. So you see this like whole back and forth.
00:54Lisa
00:55were you a season ticket holder? Would you sell your tickets to game three?
00:58I have college tuition to pay for. I probably would. Take President Trump's advice. Kids
01:03are going to watch it on TV and you're going to go to college. I don't know if you can
01:06see
01:06this on television. It was like Section 102. Amazing deal. $12,270. I love they're also like
01:12budget deals as well. It's just like an astonishing. 6D will set you back 60 grand.
01:17Yeah, sure. Each. Wait, that was your kitchen for that. That was $95,000. What does that one do?
01:23Do you get to like hang out with Taylor Swift? It must be nice.
01:27Oh, man. So this is the whole back and forth that they're going through. But
01:29David, what would you do? I'd definitely sell them. Okay. See?
01:33You know, I'm a pragmatic person. I love the team. I do. Excited for the moment. But there
01:39are bills to pay. There are bills to pay. And there are plenty of them. Let's move on to this
01:43one.
01:44And if you have those bills, you might need this story. The Atlantic binge drinking has never
01:48been easier. Okay. This is because, okay, here's the reason why. So drinking more portable
01:54cocktails that are available at more places. So it's easier to drink them. So instead of having
01:59to, you know, mix the drinks yourself, more companies are selling them in cans. You see
02:03them, right? Like the cut waters. Was that the barrier? Having to pour different things in a glass
02:07and stir? I know. The ones you're looking at now, those are the buzz balls. Okay. I've never had a
02:12buzz
02:12ball. Oh, yes. My son has had those. Yes. He is of legal age. But they're more affordable,
02:20some of these, than, you know, doing the mixed cocktails. Because like this, you can get the
02:22cut waters for like 12 bucks for a case of like four, you know? A peppermint white Russian.
02:27You can get them. So you can crack open a can and have a chocolate espresso martini, like right at
02:32your hands. I will say anecdotally. Anecdotally. I always love that. You're going to give me a
02:38hard time with the story anyway. I was, I was picking a bottle of wine at my liquor store on
02:43the corner and they do have tons of these pre-made cocktails. And I asked the guy about it and
02:46he
02:47said they're extremely popular. All ages. People just want to come in, get a cocktail, like have
02:51their drink and then go to dinner. So I love going to the beach in New York where you can
02:54just get a
02:54nutcracker. A kind of illegal, illegally prepared cocktail in a plastic bottle sold by some
02:59unlicensed purveyor. That's adorably sketchy. I love that. You can find those in your parks in
03:04New York City as well. Wait. And I always feel like the alcohol has got to be strong enough that
03:08if there's anything amiss with it, it's going to kill anything. I can't. I've never heard of this.
03:13My first. Stay tuned. So you're drinking these random alcoholics? Well, not every day. But
03:18occasionally. You know, it's the summer in the city. Next, as Tom Keen would say. Okay. Yes. As Tom Keen
03:23loves to say. Okay. New York Times. That's what we're going to next. Okay. So what are all those
03:27people waiting in line for? It's a cake in a cup. Okay. So this is dot cake. It's like a
03:34simple
03:34cake. It's topped with frosting. It has sprinkles. It looks great. Tastes great, apparently. Different
03:39flavors. The line starts as early as 6 a.m. and goes around the block. It costs about $8. If
03:47you're
03:47in Long Island and you get it. If you go to the city, you got to pay $11. But it's
03:50a social media
03:51phenomenon. I mean, it's exported from Long Island to Butterfield market locations. And that's where
03:57it's sold that. So at Butterfield market locations, people are standing out. I'm going to go out on a
04:00limb and guess Christina is not going to wait in line for a social media food item. No, no. Go
04:05to
04:05the grocery store, buy a box cake, put it around thing, put some sprinkles on it, save yourself the
04:09time. I'm totally with you. I'm totally with you. Totally. This is not hard to know. All right. Okay.
04:14This last story. Last one. It hits home. I hope my husband is not watching. So this is more from
04:20the pursuits. More luxury homeowners want sleeping spaces away from spouses. Okay. So more couples
04:27are asking for two primary bedrooms, right? Because they have different sleeping schedules. Maybe
04:33they're in different times. Are they hosting a morning show on the weekend perhaps? Maybe they're
04:36hosting a morning show on the weekend. Maybe they're snoring. Maybe there's menopause issues and
04:41you need the fan going all times of the night. Just theoretically just an option. Just putting it
04:47out there. Okay. Yes. But the reason they say why it's happening more now is because a lot of people
04:51wear those, um, the health trackers. Okay. And so it tracks your sleep. So now you're more
04:56self-conscious. I'm not getting enough sleep. So now more couples are doing this. It's not, it's
05:00actually, it's to save your marriage. I do. When my son is not sleeping at home, I send the husband
05:05to
05:05the husband's room. Wow. Do you couch surf when you have to get up early? Um, I'm often told to
05:10sleep on the couch if I have to work late or get up early because it's disruptive when one comes
05:15into
05:15the bedroom and anyway. Yes. And it saves the marriage. I'm not, in New York City, I'm not buying
05:19a separate bedroom. No. I feel like this is a suburban Midwestern luxury, but maybe people are more
05:25able to afford it. Here in New York, you're lucky if you've got a bedroom. Um, I've got a Long
05:29Islander
05:29riding in here. Oh, wow. Those cakes are so 10 years ago on Long Island. Really? They're still waiting
05:34outside. Brutal. Well, then all more reason to stop standing in line for food.
05:39Who knew that the trendsetters are in Long Island and in New York City, we were merely sheep following
05:43the Long Islanders. Glad to have that update. Great.
