00:00My name is Angelo Pellegrino. I'm the owner of Pellegrini. I'm 33 years old.
00:04We've been on this neighborhood our whole life, so we've been working here since we're 13, 14 years old.
00:09This is a four-year-old business. This is what our family's taught us, and this is all we know.
00:17I am Nicholas Pellegrino. I am also owner of Pellegrini. I am 33 years old.
00:23I can't even imagine what Angelo will say. He's been here since the summer when we turned 13 years old.
00:28Our family's been in the city world, and all of us our whole lives.
00:31We've been serving the community for 40 years. We've just made our 40th anniversary,
00:35and we're looking forward to doing many, many, many of you all.
00:40Well, my cousin decided to hit me up and say maybe we should do a watch party
00:44and possibly charge people for food and have teepees outside, and I figured,
00:49let me expand on that idea. Let me tie my big McEnergy KSDC brothers first time,
00:55and let's give away a bunch of food. Let's give away cookies. Let's give away ice cream to these kids,
01:02and put a post out on social media. You know how that works. Our intentions were very small.
01:08We were going to be happy with 20, 30, 35 people. And obviously, in order to reach more people,
01:13you have to make posts on social media. And it abrupted, and unfortunately, NYPD came in very hard on us,
01:20shut us down. Community, over 100 calls, we were told. It is what it is, but we'll have another shot.
01:27I've been a basketball player my whole life. The Knicks are my passion. This is my business.
01:34I love this. This is why a family gave to me. We worked so hard for it all our lives,
01:38but there's something different when you're able to do something on your own, like basic energy,
01:43and know how to use it and leverage another business. So it's just a great passion. I love the game.
01:48I don't miss any Knick game. So it was just a great thing to bring junctures, and that's all
01:53I care about is the Yonkits. Well, sir, I mean, the immediate emotions, you're upset,
01:58you're disappointed because, you know, there's always one or two bad eggs that ruin a great
02:02event like this for everybody, and then, you know, we'll piggyback on them, and they call up,
02:06and unfortunately, a great event like this gets canceled. So you're a little mad, a little angry
02:10occurs, but then once you take a little time, gather your emotions, you tend to realize, you know,
02:15you see all the amazing support that everybody in this community gave us. I mean, like yesterday,
02:20I was off yesterday morning. I ran some errands. As I was walking through the streets,
02:23you have an outcry of support from the community, our customers, random people that I know by face,
02:30but I don't know, I stop and to say, hey guys, this was such a great thing, and, you know,
02:35the support was endless. You know, everybody, besides what they normally order, they, like,
02:40gobbled, tripled their orders yesterday, and, you know, me and Angel is going to be more appreciative,
02:44and, you know, there will be a lot of good will come out of this. Even though the event didn't
02:48happen, we're going to make, uh, right by his buddy and everything he worked in our favor.
