00:00:22We've got discounts store-wide.
00:00:24Come on in today to the end of December.
00:00:26We'll have you ready, and for the first 10,000 coming through, they'll get a free Secret Santa hat.
00:00:32Come on down. We're waiting for you now.
00:00:42Good morning, everyone. It is time to wake up upstate. I'm Scott Morris.
00:00:48And I'm Amari Harris.
00:00:49Merry Christmas, everyone. Can you believe that Christmas is right around the corner?
00:00:53Honestly, I can't. But our man in the street, Corey Thomas, can.
00:00:58Because he's been out in the county, and he has found a holiday story that is sure to warm our
00:01:03hearts.
00:01:04Well, good morning from Porter's Cafe.
00:01:07Now, just over six months ago, a kitchen fire shut the cafe down, and Marco, the owner, didn't have the
00:01:13funds to make the needed repairs.
00:01:15Well, that is until an anonymous fan of the cafe started a Save Porter's fundraiser online.
00:01:23Nobody knows who did it.
00:01:25But the effort went viral, the locals pitched in, and before you know it, the cafe had a new kitchen.
00:01:32Now, just over two weeks until Christmas, and they are celebrating their grand reopening today.
00:01:38That just warms your heart. What a beautiful story of neighbors helping neighbors during the holiday season. I love that.
00:01:44And I hear their famous Christmas sugar cookies are to die for.
00:01:49You know what, Corey? I'm going to make you a deal.
00:01:51I will de-ice your parking spot for a week if you bring me back a dozen of those cookies.
00:01:56What do you say?
00:01:57You got a deal, Scott. Yes!
00:02:00Those must be some cookies. I would have de-iced a spot for a month, by the way.
00:02:04I'm telling you. Corey, a deal's a deal. You bring back those cookies.
00:02:27Good show. You too.
00:02:29One more day, and I am out of here.
00:02:33Where is it you're headed this year? Bali?
00:02:36Bali? That was three years ago. I'm going to Belize. Ten days. Sun, surf, and scuba. It's going to be
00:02:42amazing.
00:02:43You can never get out of here fast enough. What do you have against Christmas, anyway?
00:02:47Nothing. I love Christmas. Christmas is great if you've got people to spend it with.
00:02:50But all my friends are visiting family, and their relatives live so far away,
00:02:54I just decided a few years ago that I am way better off traveling the world at Christmas time, thank
00:03:00you,
00:03:01instead of sitting at home watching the snowfall.
00:03:03Oh, the life of a bachelor. Full of fun and freedom.
00:03:09Yeah. Something like that.
00:03:17Hey, guys.
00:03:19Hey, guys.
00:03:20Hey, guys.
00:03:20Hey, guys.
00:03:21Good day.
00:03:27Hi.
00:03:36Good morning.
00:03:38Good morning, boss.
00:03:41Fresh cup of joe for you.
00:03:44What would I do without you calling?
00:03:49Hard to believe it's already the holidays again.
00:03:52I know.
00:03:53Any big plans this time around?
00:03:55Uh, well, Kylie and I will trim the tree, then make sugar cookies,
00:03:59and maybe a little Christmas caroling, then the winter carnival.
00:04:04Just like every year.
00:04:07Exactly.
00:04:08Why fix it if it isn't broken?
00:04:09If you say so.
00:04:12But I do remember a time when you and Matt were always coming up with fun new things to do
00:04:17at Christmas.
00:04:20Sorry, I didn't mean to.
00:04:22No, it's fine.
00:04:24To be honest with you, Christmas was always Matt's thing.
00:04:28I don't know.
00:04:28Since he's been gone, I've tried to keep up the tradition, but it's just not the same.
00:04:34Every year, I think this year will be easier.
00:04:38And it never is.
00:04:39I'm sure Kylie taking off for Europe next week isn't helping.
00:04:43Yeah, I am going to miss her, but I am so happy for her and David.
00:04:48I mean, what could be more romantic than a Christmas honeymoon in Paris?
00:04:54Newlyweds.
00:04:55Well, you're handling her leaving better than I could.
00:04:59Yeah.
00:04:59I couldn't have made it through the last five years without Kylie.
00:05:03She's more than a niece.
00:05:04She's like a sister to me.
00:05:06So, we'll just celebrate a little early before they go.
00:05:10See?
00:05:10This Christmas is already shaping up to be different.
00:05:16You could try to meet someone.
00:05:19Oh, no.
00:05:21I'm good.
00:05:22The only man I'm going to be spending time with this Christmas is Mary McLean.
00:05:26Sounds like the winter carnival is going to be different this year, too.
00:05:30Mm, that's what I'm afraid of.
00:05:32I'm meeting with him later.
00:05:33Hopefully, he'll still be open to a few ideas.
00:05:36If anyone can convince him, it's you.
00:05:43I understand if you don't have the budget for a Santa's village this year,
00:05:48but can we at least put a tree in front of town hall?
00:05:51Christmas in Coopersville just isn't the same without it.
00:05:53It's tradition.
00:05:54Well, you know the town took a big hit when the plants shut down.
00:05:57Our budget is stretched so thin,
00:05:59we can barely afford a scaled-down version of the winter carnival.
00:06:02It's been a tough year all around.
00:06:04Yes, I know.
00:06:05All the more reason for some holiday cheer.
00:06:09Okay, if you've got any other ideas that won't break the bank, I'm all ears.
00:06:13Actually, I do have one.
00:06:15The other night, I was on a walk on that path from Main Street to the Park's gazebo,
00:06:19and I was thinking, wouldn't it be so beautiful if we lined both sides and even over the top with
00:06:24holiday lights?
00:06:25Walk of lights. I love it.
00:06:27Wait, that sounds too expensive. Why don't we just save that idea for next year?
00:06:31Mr. Mayor, Randy, a walk of lights would increase foot traffic to all of our Main Street businesses.
00:06:37It would make our town more of a destination for holiday shopping,
00:06:40and that would be great for all the businesses.
00:06:43I'm not saying no just yet. Go on.
00:06:46Well, I'm sure the town has plenty of lights packed away in storage.
00:06:50Let's put them to use.
00:06:51And I was thinking we could hire Sean Cain. I'm sure he could use the work.
00:06:55Yeah. Yeah, he and his wife had a pretty rough go of it this year.
00:07:00Okay, I'm sold.
00:07:02Thank you, Mr. Mayor.
00:07:03Now, if we could just put a big, beautiful tree right out front.
00:07:06Don't push your luck, Jamie.
00:07:12There you are!
00:07:16I can come back if I'm interrupting.
00:07:18Oh, it's okay.
00:07:20Guess you're looking for these?
00:07:21Yeah.
00:07:22And to congratulate you on the great work that you've been doing.
00:07:25I mean, the message boards are lighting up.
00:07:28People love the upbeat, positive, feel-good stuff you've been doing. Great work.
00:07:33I'm glad.
00:07:35Oh, yes.
00:07:37Ha-ha.
00:07:40What's going on?
00:07:43Cory's family surprised him and Vero with tickets on a Caribbean cruise with the whole family for the holidays.
00:07:50That's... amazing. Why are you so bummed?
00:07:52Because I can't go.
00:07:54There's no one to cover for me.
00:07:55No, there's gotta be...
00:07:57What about meteorologist Molly?
00:07:59I asked. She can't.
00:08:00Anyway, I've been doing these feel-good local stories around Christmas for years.
00:08:04Our viewers love them, and they're counting on me.
00:08:08They're practically a holiday tradition for our show.
00:08:11So I'll stay put.
00:08:13Hopefully I can FaceTime the grandkids from the islands.
00:08:18Hey.
00:08:20What if I cover for you?
00:08:24I'm very funny, Scott.
00:08:25No, I'm being serious.
00:08:27Really, I've been in the studio for so long.
00:08:29Look, it'd be good for me to get out there on the field and do some reporting again.
00:08:33But what about your trip?
00:08:34Belize will always be there.
00:08:36Cory, this could be a trip that you guys never forget.
00:08:39You really deserve this.
00:08:41Are you serious?
00:08:44Yeah.
00:08:46Scott, wow.
00:08:50I can't wait to tell Vera.
00:08:52Thanks, man.
00:08:53You got it.
00:08:54Yeah.
00:08:59That was very sweet, Scott.
00:09:01You sure he can handle it?
00:09:04You're forgetting I started in the field, Amari.
00:09:07It'll be fun. It'll be fine.
00:09:08Fill in for Cory, co-host with you.
00:09:11Works for me.
00:09:13Looks like you'll be here for Christmas after all.
00:09:15Hmm.
00:09:16Hmm.
00:09:17Looks like it.
00:09:30Remember this one?
00:09:31Of course I do.
00:09:32From our road trip to Niagara Falls.
00:09:34Yes.
00:09:35Kylie was in charge of navigation.
00:09:37Somehow we ended up on the Canadian side without our passports.
00:09:41Really?
00:09:41Yeah.
00:09:42It's a miracle they let us back in.
00:09:44You might want to keep that in mind when you're in France.
00:09:47Otherwise, you might end up in Switzerland.
00:09:49Um, we've actually had a change of plans.
00:09:53David and I decided that it's not really the best time for us to go on our honeymoon.
00:09:57You canceled your trip?
00:09:58Just postponed it for a while.
00:10:01Why?
00:10:01I don't understand.
00:10:02We want to save as much money as we can for a down payment on a home next year.
00:10:07Oh.
00:10:08You don't have to postpone your honeymoon.
00:10:09You can always ask me for help.
00:10:11But you've already done so much for me.
00:10:14Like when I moved up here for college, you wouldn't even let me pay rent.
00:10:17And when Matt got sick, you were my shoulder to cry on.
00:10:21We support each other.
00:10:22We're family.
00:10:27Why do I get the feeling you guys aren't telling me something?
00:10:30I got a job offer.
00:10:32It's an amazing program.
00:10:34Helping young adults with disabilities get vocational training.
00:10:37Kylie, that's fantastic.
00:10:38Why wouldn't you tell me?
00:10:39That sounds like your dream job.
00:10:41It is.
00:10:43But it's in Seattle.
00:10:46Oh.
00:10:50Well, I knew when you moved up to Cooperville, it wouldn't be forever.
00:10:54I mean, that job, though, it sounds exactly like what you've always wanted.
00:10:58You have to take it.
00:10:59I already did.
00:11:01And David found a buyer for his shop.
00:11:04It all happened really fast.
00:11:06But we're moving next month.
00:11:10Wow.
00:11:13I'm really happy for you guys.
00:11:16That's another reason why we wanted to spend the holidays here with you in Cooperville.
00:11:20Because who knows what the future holds.
00:11:22Maybe next year you'll spend Christmas with us.
00:11:25Or we'll take a trip somewhere.
00:11:29Future, right.
00:11:30And in the meantime, I want this to be the best Christmas we've had in years.
00:11:35Let's make this year different.
00:11:37Don't get me wrong.
00:11:38It's nice.
00:11:40It's just felt a little stale recently.
00:11:43No offense.
00:11:45No.
00:11:46Stale is the right word for it.
00:11:48When it comes to Christmas, your uncle really set a high bar.
00:11:52I mean, I try, but he was the one that always brought the holiday spirit.
00:11:58More like he was possessed by it.
00:12:01Well, I remember when he came in the shop with flyers promoting his idea for a town gift exchange.
00:12:05Yeah.
00:12:06Yes, he wanted to spread holiday cheer in a meet your neighbor kind of way.
00:12:11I don't know.
00:12:11He didn't write anything down and his plan got so mixed up nobody knew who they were buying for.
00:12:16No need for a spreadsheet, Kylie.
00:12:18I've got it all stored in my super computer right here.
00:12:21Yeah, ideas were his forte, but execution, not so much.
00:12:26But I did love the way he always brought joy to Cooperville.
00:12:30Our town could use someone like Uncle Matt right now.
00:12:34That's for sure.
00:12:45So, while Cory's on vacation, Scott here has notably offered to step in and do a bit of field reporting.
00:12:51Those are some big shoes to fill.
00:12:53That they are, but I promise everybody I will do my best to be a worthy replacement.
00:12:57We'll see about that.
00:12:59In the meantime, I understand you've invited some special musical guests to the studio this morning?
00:13:04Yeah, I have.
00:13:05That's right, Amara.
00:13:06I'd like everybody to meet Bellevue High Classic Quartet and their amazing teacher, Miss Ramirez.
00:13:11Welcome, everybody.
00:13:12Welcome to Wake Up.
00:13:14We are so excited to be here.
00:13:16We're excited to have you.
00:13:17And as I understand, you're not just here to play some beautiful music.
00:13:20You also are on a mission because of a very, very special invitation you got this week.
00:13:26I am very excited to tell you that this quartet was recently invited to Washington, D.C.
00:13:31to perform for the president at the White House's annual Christmas party.
00:13:35That is so fantastic.
00:13:37You must be so proud.
00:13:38I am.
00:13:39But unfortunately, our school doesn't have the funds to send these kids to Washington right now.
00:13:44Well, this is an opportunity that you can't let pass you by, so what are you going to do?
00:13:48We've decided to raise enough money to cover the travel costs ourselves.
00:13:53That's a great idea.
00:13:54Tell our viewers right now how they can help support you all to be able to do just that.
00:13:58Well, tonight, my students will be performing a donations-based concert at the Bellevue High Auditorium.
00:14:05We hope everyone in the area can come and show their support.
00:14:09Fantastic.
00:14:10It's going to be a great show.
00:14:11It really is.
00:14:11Thank you so much, Ms. Ramirez.
00:14:12Kids, fantastic.
00:14:14You heard it here, everybody.
00:14:15Come on out and support these talented, talented kids.
00:14:18And at the same time, listen to some beautiful music.
00:14:22Hey, Kylie.
00:14:23Quick question.
00:14:24Do you and David have plans tonight?
00:14:28Perfect.
00:14:36Then we could criss-cross all the way up to the gazebo, then.
00:14:40I could run the lights around the edge of the roof there, too, and support beams as well, if you
00:14:43like.
00:14:43Yes, that would be great.
00:14:45If I get started right away, I'll be done by tomorrow.
00:14:47Okay, perfect.
00:14:48I'll let Randy know.
00:14:50You selling your truck?
00:14:54Yeah, I don't want to, but I'm running out of options unless more nice people like you have to.
00:14:58Don't hire me.
00:14:59We had to tell the kids this year that Christmas might not be what they're used to, you know?
00:15:04How's Marcy?
00:15:05Oh, you know Marcy.
00:15:06She's trying to stay positive.
00:15:07Hopefully, she'll get a good job soon.
00:15:10Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of you.
00:15:12Thanks.
00:15:14I can't wait to show this to her and the kids.
00:15:19You know, it's little things like this that go a long way to lift people's spirits up.
00:15:24Forget their troubles.
00:15:25You know what I mean?
00:15:27Yeah, I do.
00:15:39Oh, hi.
00:15:40Hi.
00:15:40Oh, you made it.
00:15:42Mwah.
00:15:43Not exactly Carnegie Hall.
00:15:46Since when do you go out of your way to help some high school kids you don't even know?
00:15:49Since today.
00:15:51I thought it would be nice to show some support.
00:15:52And you did say Christmas is getting a little stale, so.
00:15:55Where'd you hear about it?
00:15:56Wake up upstate.
00:15:57Scott said a story on it.
00:15:59Come on.
00:16:02That explains it.
00:16:03Scott Morris is Aunt Jamie's TB crush?
00:16:06No, he's not.
00:16:08Yeah.
00:16:09Why not?
00:16:11He's cute.
00:16:12He's nice.
00:16:14He might even be single.
00:16:16I doubt it.
00:16:17Does he wear a ring?
00:16:18No.
00:16:19So you've checked.
00:16:20See what I mean?
00:16:22TB crush.
00:16:22I do not have a crush on Scott Morris.
00:16:27Yeah.
00:16:28You guys, uh, you guys watch the show?
00:16:31I don't.
00:16:31But she does.
00:16:32Every day.
00:16:33Never misses it.
00:16:34Wow.
00:16:35Well, we appreciate that.
00:16:36Um, would any of you mind being interviewed right now?
00:16:41Sure.
00:16:42Aunt Jamie would love to.
00:16:44No, she wouldn't.
00:16:45Yes.
00:16:46She would.
00:16:47Okay.
00:16:48So we'll just kind of be up there.
00:16:51Okay.
00:16:51Hi, Jamie.
00:16:52I'm-
00:16:53Scott Morris.
00:16:54Yeah.
00:16:55That's, uh, what they call me.
00:16:59Oh, sorry.
00:17:00Oh, that's okay.
00:17:02Um, you ready?
00:17:07Okay, three, two.
00:17:09Hey, everybody.
00:17:09Coming to you from Bellevue High, where the audience is starting to gather for a great benefit
00:17:14concert.
00:17:15I'm here with Jamie.
00:17:16So tell everybody at home, uh, what brought you out to support the kids here, Jamie?
00:17:19Uh, you did.
00:17:20You invited me.
00:17:22Well, us, we all got invited by you.
00:17:25That's true.
00:17:26Mm-hmm.
00:17:27Um, so do you live in, uh, Hudson City?
00:17:31Cooperville, actually.
00:17:32Uh, it's off the 90 West, about a 40-minute drive from, um, here, give or take.
00:17:38You know, if there's no traffic, which there wasn't, because there's no rush hour right now.
00:17:41Hmm.
00:17:42Well, that's good to know.
00:17:43I'm sure everybody appreciates you making the drive out.
00:17:45The kids appreciate your support.
00:17:48Yes.
00:17:49It's for the kids.
00:17:50That's right.
00:17:51Absolutely.
00:17:52Which is the spirit of Christmas.
00:17:54That's for sure.
00:17:55Thank you so much, Jamie.
00:17:56You're welcome.
00:17:57Great.
00:17:58Thanks.
00:17:59You did, you did really well.
00:18:01That was terrible.
00:18:02I'm sorry.
00:18:03No, that's not true.
00:18:04You did, you did great.
00:18:05It's hard with the camera and everything.
00:18:07Thank you again, uh, for your support.
00:18:10Yeah.
00:18:10All right.
00:18:12All right.
00:18:16Enjoy the show.
00:18:17Oh.
00:18:17Yeah.
00:18:21Okay, who's next?
00:18:24What just happened?
00:18:26Well, you just got interviewed by Scott Morris, who was nice and cute and very charming,
00:18:32while you were totally nervous and awkward.
00:18:35All caught on camera.
00:18:38I'm so embarrassed.
00:18:39Oh, don't be.
00:18:40I'm sure he interviews so many nervous Nellies he's used to it.
00:18:42And hey, look on the bright side.
00:18:44You finally got to meet Scott Morris.
00:18:46And now I have a reason to watch his show tomorrow.
00:18:50Okay, I need some air.
00:18:55Hello, Bellevue.
00:18:56How's everybody doing?
00:18:58Great.
00:18:59Good to see those smiling faces.
00:19:00Look, if it's all right with everybody, before the concert starts, we would like to,
00:19:04uh, shoot a quick update with Miss Ramirez here that'll be on tomorrow's show.
00:19:08All right?
00:19:08So big smiles.
00:19:10Here's your TV crush again.
00:19:12Stop.
00:19:12You ready to go?
00:19:13Yes.
00:19:13Okay, let's do this.
00:19:14Here we go.
00:19:15Rolling.
00:19:16In three, two.
00:19:18Hello, everybody.
00:19:19I'm Scott Morris coming to you from Bellevue High, where the benefit concert for these talented
00:19:24kids right here, this amazing quartet is about to begin.
00:19:28Miss Ramirez, great to see you again.
00:19:29Nice to see you too, Scott.
00:19:31How's the fundraising going?
00:19:32Well, we've raised about $300 so far, so we have a long way to go.
00:19:37But we're so grateful to everyone who came out and dropped cash in our donation box
00:19:41or texted in a donation.
00:19:43Oh.
00:19:44Okay.
00:19:49Is something wrong?
00:19:49Yes.
00:19:51I mean, no.
00:19:52We just had an anonymous donation for the full amount.
00:19:56What?
00:19:57That's amazing!
00:19:59Oh, boy.
00:20:00Hugs too.
00:20:01This is crazy.
00:20:03Congratulations, everybody.
00:20:04You're so beautiful.
00:20:05Oh, congratulations, guys.
00:20:06You're gone to the floor.
00:20:07Yeah?
00:20:08Ha, ha, ha.
00:20:09Lots of smiles.
00:20:10Whoever you are, thank you.
00:20:13You're our hero.
00:20:15Ah!
00:20:15Success!
00:20:16Whoo!
00:20:17Well done, everybody.
00:20:29So do you live in, uh, Hudson City?
00:20:32Cooperville, actually.
00:20:33Uh, it's off the 90 West, about a 40-minute drive from, um, here, give or take.
00:20:39You know, if there's no traffic or two.
00:20:41Because there's no traffic.
00:20:42Well, if it isn't Cooperville's latest celeb.
00:20:45I was just watching your screen debut.
00:20:48I was hoping that would end up on the cutting room floor.
00:20:51Tell me Scott Morris is as nice in person as he is on TV.
00:20:55He is.
00:20:56Was.
00:20:57Nice.
00:20:58And very handsome.
00:21:01I might just be imagining it, but I got the sense he kinda liked you.
00:21:06Okay.
00:21:07You two would make a cute couple.
00:21:09You are being ridiculous.
00:21:10Why not, Jamie?
00:21:12Newsflash, you're a catch.
00:21:14You're smart, kind, fun, pretty.
00:21:20Cooperville Tours.
00:21:23No, I didn't.
00:21:25Really?
00:21:27Okay, thanks.
00:21:29What?
00:21:29What's up?
00:21:30There's something we need to see.
00:21:32Come on.
00:21:35I thought our town couldn't afford a tree this year.
00:21:38Maybe the mayor had a change of heart.
00:21:41I'm glad you came to your senses, Mr. Mayor.
00:21:43It's not Christmas in Cooperville until there's a tree outside town hall.
00:21:47Oh, I can't take credit for that.
00:21:50It's an anonymous gift.
00:21:52Kinda like what happened at Bellevue High last night, right?
00:21:56Maybe it's the same person.
00:21:57No, doubtful.
00:21:59It's probably just a couple of random acts of kindness.
00:22:01Whatever you call it, I'm grateful.
00:22:04Town hall already looks more festive.
00:22:06Yep.
00:22:09Looks great.
00:22:13I'm wishing you were in Belize right now.
00:22:16What, Belize?
00:22:18I haven't given it a second thought.
00:22:20Good.
00:22:21I might have a scoop for you.
00:22:22I got a call from the mayor of Cooperville.
00:22:25Seems somebody anonymously gifted the town with a Christmas tree.
00:22:29Not exactly a hot scoop, Amari.
00:22:32What if it's the same person who gifted those kids their trip to D.C.?
00:22:35Or an epidemic of coincidental kindness.
00:22:40Either way, it's worth checking it out.
00:22:44Okay.
00:22:45You got me.
00:22:47I've been meaning to visit Cooperville anyway.
00:22:50Really?
00:22:51Mm-hmm.
00:22:52Uh-huh.
00:22:54Sure.
00:22:59With Christmas just around the corner, it seems that Hudson County has a bona fide holiday
00:23:03mystery on our hands as another anonymous donation has spread Christmas cheer in one of our towns.
00:23:08Good morning, Scott.
00:23:09Good morning, everyone.
00:23:11For the first time in years, Cooperville was not able to get a Christmas tree for the season due to
00:23:18a budget crisis.
00:23:19However, yesterday, this beautiful tree that you see right here showed up.
00:23:22No note.
00:23:23No explanation whatsoever.
00:23:25I'm joined here with Cooperville Mayor Randy McClain.
00:23:28Mr. Mayor, you must have been as surprised as anybody when this beautiful tree showed up on your doorstep.
00:23:34Yeah, you can say that again.
00:23:36Absolutely amazing.
00:23:37In fact, it didn't really feel like Christmas around here until this happened.
00:23:41So we're all very grateful to the person that made this possible.
00:23:45I bet you are.
00:23:46Absolutely.
00:23:46Very happy for everybody here in Cooperville.
00:23:48Oh, well, there you have it, everyone.
00:23:50You heard it from the mayor himself.
00:23:51Come on out to Cooperville where the Christmas spirit is in full display each and every night.
00:23:58Great.
00:23:59Good job, Mr. Mayor.
00:24:00Thanks.
00:24:00Fantastic.
00:24:01Can I ask you a question?
00:24:02Do you happen to know that young woman that's standing right there by the back of the van?
00:24:06Do you know who that is?
00:24:08Oh, yeah.
00:24:08That's Jamie Monroe.
00:24:10She runs Cooperville tours.
00:24:11Kind of a local expert around here if you need a guide.
00:24:15Hmm.
00:24:16You know, I just might.
00:24:19Oh, were you just at the tree?
00:24:22Yeah.
00:24:22Isn't it gorgeous?
00:24:24Yeah.
00:24:24Last night, Gary and I came down, got hot chocolates, and just looked at the tree for an hour.
00:24:30Most romantic thing we've done in years.
00:24:35Is that Scott Morris?
00:24:39Welcome to Cooperville.
00:24:42Oh, thank you.
00:24:44Oh, it's great.
00:24:46Um.
00:24:49I, I'm sorry to bother you.
00:24:51Um, it's, it's Jamie, right?
00:24:54You were at the concert the other night?
00:24:56Yep.
00:24:57That's Jamie.
00:25:02I have things to do.
00:25:05In the back.
00:25:06In the back.
00:25:07Uh-huh.
00:25:07Leaving now.
00:25:12So, what brings you here?
00:25:14The Christmas tree, actually.
00:25:16No, I meant here, to Cooperville tours.
00:25:20Oh, um, yeah, I need a tour.
00:25:23We, uh, need some shots of Cooperville, and I figured who better to show me around than the local tour
00:25:30company.
00:25:30Oh, okay.
00:25:32Uh, would that be for you, or you and your cameraman?
00:25:34Just me.
00:25:35For now.
00:25:36Well, unfortunately, our tour van already left for the morning.
00:25:39Oh, that's okay.
00:25:40I'm more of a walking tour kind of guy anyway.
00:25:42Mm, we don't have that in the winter.
00:25:44I'm so, so sorry.
00:25:46But we were just talking about adding a Cooperville Christmas tour.
00:25:53Right, Jamie?
00:25:54Oh, today would be the perfect day to do a trial run, don't you think?
00:26:00I'll cover here.
00:26:03You give the tour, and you take the tour.
00:26:10Off you go.
00:26:11Okay, great.
00:26:13Have fun, explore, enjoy Cooperville.
00:26:16We're glad you're here.
00:26:19Okay, well, uh, it looks like I will be giving you your tour.
00:26:25Great.
00:26:26Is there anything in particular you wanted to see?
00:26:29Not really, no.
00:26:30I'll just, uh, I'll just follow your lead.
00:26:33All right.
00:26:33Well, um, this is our downtown, obviously.
00:26:37It's beautiful.
00:26:38It really is.
00:26:38I love the mix of old and new architecture.
00:26:42Exactly.
00:26:43Okay, well, if you will follow me, Mr. Morris, I will begin your tour.
00:26:47Great.
00:26:50You okay?
00:26:50I don't know.
00:26:51Which side you...
00:26:52Okay, that's better.
00:26:55What an amazing space.
00:26:57I mean, you don't typically see buildings like this in small towns around here.
00:27:01Performing arts has been a great way to bring the community together.
00:27:05It's one of the reasons Cooperville was voted best upstate town in 2016.
00:27:10Really?
00:27:11That's pretty cool.
00:27:14I...
00:27:14It was a great honor, but it's not that cool.
00:27:17I don't know why I just said that.
00:27:19Because you're proud of your town and I admire that.
00:27:21Besides, I've always wondered who won best upstate town 2016.
00:27:24Now I know.
00:27:26Shouldn't you be taking notes or something for your shot list or whatever?
00:27:31I gotta store it all up here.
00:27:33Huh.
00:27:34You don't believe me.
00:27:36No, you just reminded me of someone.
00:27:46This is one of my personal favorite spots.
00:27:50I can see why.
00:27:51I really can.
00:27:54How long have you lived here?
00:27:55My whole life.
00:27:57Really?
00:27:58By choice or just circumstance?
00:28:01Um, I guess a little of both.
00:28:03When I was a kid, my parents moved here for work.
00:28:06And then after I met Matthew, he said I knew so much about this town, we should start a tour
00:28:11company.
00:28:11So we did.
00:28:14Matthew?
00:28:16My late husband.
00:28:17I'm sorry.
00:28:19Thanks.
00:28:21After he passed, I could have gone anywhere.
00:28:23Started fresh.
00:28:24But, Cooperville's been good to me.
00:28:28I have a job here that I love.
00:28:30A wonderful home.
00:28:32And a niece that I love like a sister.
00:28:34So I decided to stay.
00:28:36I mean, I get it.
00:28:37I really do.
00:28:39I traveled a lot as a kid and then even more with my career.
00:28:44So I don't really have a place that I call home.
00:28:48You're lucky.
00:28:50Well, maybe someday you'll find it.
00:28:52Maybe I will.
00:28:54Come on.
00:28:57Okay.
00:29:01Merry Christmas.
00:29:03That's very generous of you.
00:29:05Well, it's the holidays.
00:29:06It's time to be generous, right?
00:29:07Yes.
00:29:09To be honest, I, uh, I'm trying to get into the holiday spirit.
00:29:14Really?
00:29:16I got the impression from TV that you are Mr. Christmas.
00:29:20You'd think so.
00:29:21When I actually try and get out of here and escape to warmer destinations,
00:29:24I haven't stuck around for Christmas in a very long time.
00:29:28How's it going this year?
00:29:31Full of surprises.
00:29:33I know what you mean.
00:29:35Hmm.
00:29:37Well, I guess that concludes your impromptu personal tour.
00:29:41You get everything you need.
00:29:43Did you get ideas for the show?
00:29:46Actually, I was having too much fun.
00:29:47I seem to have forgotten some of the landmarks.
00:29:50Not going to let you down, huh?
00:29:52Probably should have taken notes.
00:29:54I was hoping for another tour.
00:29:57One that includes dinner.
00:29:59Oh, we don't offer that.
00:30:02That was, that was my attempt at asking you out to dinner.
00:30:07Oh, huh.
00:30:09I gotta work on that, huh?
00:30:10Yeah.
00:30:11Um, wow.
00:30:12Okay.
00:30:14Yeah?
00:30:15Mm-hmm.
00:30:15Great.
00:30:16Okay.
00:30:17I'll call you.
00:30:19Yep.
00:30:19You don't have my number.
00:30:20Sure, I do.
00:30:23Oh, well, there it is.
00:30:24Okay.
00:30:26Okay.
00:30:28Call me.
00:30:29Okay.
00:30:40When I saw what that person did for those high schoolers, and then the tree at town hall, I realized
00:30:45I should do something to spread some cheer myself.
00:30:48So I bought these cards and I gave them to the kids at the shelter to fill out.
00:30:52Now anybody who shops here can read a card from a kid and buy them the present they're asking for.
00:30:58That is a great idea, Kylie.
00:31:00Hopefully we'll be able to get something for every child.
00:31:03There are so many more families in need at the shelter this year.
00:31:06We can really feed everybody this Christmas.
00:31:09I had no idea it was so bad.
00:31:11How about we go first?
00:31:14I'd love to.
00:31:15Let me get a shot of you two in action.
00:31:20And I'll take one of those cards, too.
00:31:22What better way to start the giving than now, right?
00:31:26Well, you too.
00:31:43Good morning, everyone.
00:31:45It is time to wake up upstate.
00:31:48I'm Scott Morris.
00:31:49And I'm Amari Harris.
00:31:50We missed you in studio yesterday, Scott.
00:31:53How was your trip to Cooperville?
00:31:54It's great.
00:31:56The townspeople there are just so excited about their new Christmas tree.
00:31:59It was hard not to get in the Christmas spirit myself.
00:32:01In fact, I took a tour.
00:32:03Really?
00:32:04Yeah.
00:32:05It's a beautiful little town.
00:32:06So charming with so much history.
00:32:08Of course, it probably helped to have a great tour guide, which I did.
00:32:12I highly recommend Cooperville tours and sightseeing if you happen to be in the area.
00:32:17Planning to go back?
00:32:18Absolutely.
00:32:19Especially if more of these mysterious Christmas donations keep popping up.
00:32:23Oh, well, let's hope they do because our viewers are loving these stories.
00:32:27Here are a few of the posts we've gotten just this morning from our page.
00:32:30Oh, keep up the great work, Scott.
00:32:33Oh, my favorite people at Christmas are Santa, Amari, and Scott.
00:32:37And, oh, we love you, Scott.
00:32:40That's very sweet.
00:32:42I love you, too.
00:32:43I really do.
00:32:43And we'll have today's top stories after a very short break.
00:32:47We'll see you in a little...
00:32:49A tour guide, huh?
00:32:51What's her name?
00:32:53Oh, you heard me.
00:32:57Her name, um, was, well, is, it's Jamie.
00:33:01Oh, well, whoever this Jamie is, she's got you blushing redder than Rudolph's nose.
00:33:06Maybe she's the reason for all this holiday spirit you're giving off on camera.
00:33:10It's that obvious, huh?
00:33:12A little bit, yeah.
00:33:15Being out in the fields, giving you fresh energy.
00:33:18Keep it up.
00:33:20Oh, and, uh, call this Jamie, okay?
00:33:29Here she comes right now.
00:33:31One moment, please.
00:33:33It's Scott Morris.
00:33:37Be peppy.
00:33:39But not overeager.
00:33:45Hello, this is Jamie.
00:33:49Uh-huh.
00:33:51Uh-huh.
00:33:52Uh, can I just put you on hold for one second?
00:33:56He's coming back to Cooperville this afternoon for a story and wants to take me to dinner.
00:34:01A date!
00:34:03That's fantastic!
00:34:04I haven't been on a date in so long.
00:34:06Just think of it as dinner with a friend.
00:34:08A successful, charming, really good-looking friend we all watch on TV every morning.
00:34:15Just be yourself and have fun.
00:34:17Okay.
00:34:19You know he's still on hold, right?
00:34:20Right.
00:34:21Yeah.
00:34:21Okay.
00:34:22Uh, what should I say?
00:34:23Should I go?
00:34:28Hi.
00:34:29Sorry about that.
00:34:29Busy morning here.
00:34:32Um, yes.
00:34:33That would be great.
00:34:35Oh, it's perfect.
00:34:36It's just how I pictured it.
00:34:38I can't wait to see it at night.
00:34:39Town's gonna love it.
00:34:40You pulled all this off by yourself?
00:34:42Some of my, uh, construction buddies volunteered to help me out.
00:34:45Ah.
00:34:45I still have a couple more things to do, but it will be ready for tonight's unveiling.
00:34:49I love it.
00:34:50Thank you, Sean.
00:34:51Happy to do it.
00:34:52Let me get back to it.
00:34:55Oh, did you hear the shelter received a big food donation today?
00:35:01What?
00:35:02Oh, that's fantastic.
00:35:03You didn't know about it?
00:35:05Me?
00:35:06No.
00:35:06Why would I know about it?
00:35:07Well, I kind of figured since your niece works there and you always know everything that's going on around town
00:35:13anyway.
00:35:13Do they know who the donor is?
00:35:16No one knows.
00:35:17But when I find out, I am going to personally throw a parade for that person.
00:35:22Hmm.
00:35:22I called Scott Morris, you know, the TV guy.
00:35:25He said he's gonna come out here and do a bigger story in order to figure out who the generous
00:35:30mystery person is.
00:35:32That kind of PR is going to bring a lot more holiday shoppers to this town.
00:35:36I wouldn't play it up so much.
00:35:38I mean, if the donations were anonymous, don't you think they'd probably want to keep it that way?
00:35:42I mean, shouldn't we respect their wishes?
00:35:45Well, that wouldn't be nearly as much fun then, would it?
00:35:49No, it wouldn't.
00:35:52I'm here with Kylie Monroe outside of the Cooperville shelter.
00:35:56Hi, Kylie.
00:35:57Hi, Scott.
00:35:58And hi, David.
00:35:59You're my husband.
00:36:01We're newlyweds.
00:36:02Oh, well, congratulations.
00:36:04Tell everybody what happened here.
00:36:05It's been a tough winter in our town.
00:36:08A lot of families in need and not enough food to feed everyone.
00:36:11But today, a truck showed up unloading cases of canned goods.
00:36:16Pasta, eggs, bread, milk.
00:36:18It was really amazing.
00:36:20But just like with the town's Christmas tree, it was an anonymous donation.
00:36:24Did anyone happen to speak with the donor or were there any clues at all?
00:36:29The delivery guy said it was all ordered online, so we just don't know.
00:36:33But whoever they are, they're really good at figuring out what's needed in this town and making it happen.
00:36:39And we couldn't be more grateful.
00:36:41Or more deserving.
00:36:43Thank you so much, Kylie.
00:36:44All right.
00:36:45Well, there you have it, everybody.
00:36:47A lot of acts of kindness here in Cooperville, but the mystery remains.
00:36:52Is this the work of one person or many?
00:36:55Tell you what, I'm going to stay on this story until we find out.
00:37:03Kind of hard to believe that in one week I've interviewed both you and your niece, right?
00:37:08You should probably tell David he's probably next.
00:37:10Yeah, I'll give him a heads up.
00:37:14So, how did you become the host of Wake Up Upstate?
00:37:18Honestly, I never really set out to be on a morning show at all.
00:37:22I was just hoping for a career somewhere reporting the news.
00:37:25And I got my big break in a small little station in Wilmington, North Carolina.
00:37:30It's kind of a fun story.
00:37:31There was a hurricane watch.
00:37:33Our producer was just desperate to find somebody to go out on a remote shoot, so I volunteered.
00:37:37No experience at all.
00:37:39Zero plan.
00:37:40What could go wrong?
00:37:42Exactly.
00:37:43We all thought it was going to be just a quick weather update, but I...
00:37:46Am I talking too much?
00:37:48No.
00:37:49Yeah.
00:37:49No, I like it.
00:37:51Okay.
00:37:52Here I was, out there, just like wind blowing sideways, soaking wet.
00:37:56But I was shooting my first story.
00:37:59Well, clearly you survived.
00:38:01Hmm.
00:38:01Hmm.
00:38:02But I knew after that.
00:38:04I knew that's what I wanted to do.
00:38:05I wanted to be out in the field reporting real news.
00:38:08So I just worked hard and paid my dues.
00:38:11And here I am.
00:38:13Sounds like you've made a lot of sacrifices.
00:38:15Did you ever have time for a relationship or marriage?
00:38:24Uh...
00:38:25Almost once.
00:38:27That was a long time ago.
00:38:30Sounds like there's more to the story.
00:38:33No, we just met in the field.
00:38:35She was a producer and we were both, um...
00:38:38Travel junkies.
00:38:40Hmm.
00:38:41There comes a time when you've got to make a decision whether you want to settle down
00:38:44or you want to...
00:38:46Continue on at the crazy pace that we were going at.
00:38:48And I was ready.
00:38:50Put down roots, buy a house, start a family.
00:38:55But right before the wedding, she decided that the settled life wasn't for her.
00:39:01That was it.
00:39:03I never saw her again.
00:39:07I'm sorry.
00:39:09Losing someone you love is never easy.
00:39:14I think it was the, um...
00:39:16The loss of trust that hurt the most.
00:39:23But it's in the past and you move on.
00:39:26And honestly, if it hadn't happened, I probably wouldn't be in Cooperville right now.
00:39:32I have a feeling you would be in town anyway, covering the big Christmas mystery.
00:39:37I hope that I meet the real person I really do.
00:39:39I mean, if it is just one person.
00:39:41Then get that interview right before Christmas.
00:39:45Don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure it's a good idea to make a bigger deal out
00:39:51of this whole thing?
00:39:52Oh.
00:39:53Are you kidding me?
00:39:54Our viewers are loving this.
00:39:56They can't get enough of it.
00:39:58Yeah.
00:39:58No, I owe it to them to...
00:40:01To keep looking into it.
00:40:03And in the meantime, I get to spend more time in Cooperville.
00:40:06With you.
00:40:13Thanks.
00:40:15There you go.
00:40:17Cheers.
00:40:18Cheers.
00:40:18Oh.
00:40:21So, you've heard all about me.
00:40:23What about you?
00:40:26Do you date often?
00:40:29To be honest with you, you are the first man I've dated since Matt.
00:40:34Hmm.
00:40:36Can I ask how long ago that was?
00:40:39Five years, one month, three days.
00:40:43I get it.
00:40:44I do.
00:40:45When you lose someone, that's important to you.
00:40:47I mean, the past makes us who we are, but...
00:40:50Exactly, yeah.
00:40:52You know what?
00:40:53It's after eight.
00:40:54I bet they're on.
00:40:55Come on, I want to show you something.
00:41:00You did all this?
00:41:02Mm-hmm.
00:41:03Well, it was just my idea.
00:41:06There were other people involved in making it happen.
00:41:09Humble.
00:41:10Another one of your great qualities.
00:41:11I appreciate you saying that, but...
00:41:14I'm just like everybody else in this town.
00:41:16You see what I mean?
00:41:17You're such a good person.
00:41:18You do so much for the community, and you're not looking for any credit at all.
00:41:22Does that remind you of anybody?
00:41:25I don't know what you're getting at.
00:41:28I'll take your word for it.
00:41:30It's just all so beautiful.
00:41:34Would you look at that?
00:41:41I was just in charge of the lights.
00:41:43I had nothing to do with that.
00:41:46It is a tradition, after all.
00:41:49Well, we wouldn't want to break tradition, I guess.
00:41:56Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.
00:42:02Tis the season to be jolly, fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la.
00:42:21Scott?
00:42:24There's something I should tell you.
00:42:30It gets really icy in the parking lot, so be careful.
00:42:38I will.
00:42:39Good night.
00:42:52Am I late?
00:42:54You're never here before me.
00:42:56I need to tell you something.
00:42:58How did your date with Scott go?
00:43:01It was nice.
00:43:02It was really nice.
00:43:03We went to dinner and we took a romantic walk in the park.
00:43:07But that's not what I want to tell you.
00:43:10You know the things that have been going on around town?
00:43:13The tree in front of town hall, the music students, the shelter.
00:43:17The anonymous acts of kindness?
00:43:19Yes.
00:43:23You?
00:43:25You're a town secret Santa!
00:43:27It feels so good to say that.
00:43:28I've been dying to tell someone.
00:43:30But why?
00:43:31I mean, I always knew you were kind-hearted and generous,
00:43:34but this is above and beyond.
00:43:36Yeah, well, the other night,
00:43:40Kylie and I were reminiscing about Matthew,
00:43:42and she said something like,
00:43:45what this town really needs right now is someone like Uncle Matt.
00:43:49And I thought, why not me?
00:43:51Why not, you know, share some of my good fortune with the town
00:43:55and all the people that need it?
00:43:57Well, you've certainly done that.
00:44:00It's just, it's felt so rewarding.
00:44:02I mean, I just can't stop thinking about what I'm going to do next.
00:44:04By far, you are the coolest person I have ever known.
00:44:08But you can't tell anyone, okay?
00:44:10Of course.
00:44:10Mom's the word.
00:44:11Good, because I might need your help.
00:44:15I am so in.
00:44:18Okay, it looks like Scott is going to keep reporting on the things that are going on around Cooperville
00:44:23until he figures out who the mystery donor is.
00:44:25So you two will be spending more time together. That's great.
00:44:29Yes.
00:44:30But I also want to stay anonymous.
00:44:32You know, I don't want people to feel like they have to thank me or they owe me anything.
00:44:36It sounds like you got yourself into a bit of a pickle.
00:44:39Do you think Scott suspects?
00:44:41No, I don't think so.
00:44:42Well, that's good.
00:44:44Christmas is in five days.
00:44:46If we can stall him until then, or keep him off track,
00:44:50he won't uncover your identity before Christmas and then, poof, the story will go away.
00:44:56Okay, that's good.
00:44:57Stall him. How do we do that?
00:45:00Ooh, I've got it.
00:45:02What if I do a couple of good deeds on your behalf to throw him off the scent?
00:45:06Meanwhile, when you're together, you act a little bit Scroogey.
00:45:10Scroogey.
00:45:11You know, selfish, cold-hearted, not into Christmas.
00:45:15That way he won't see you as the type who would do any of this stuff.
00:45:18Maybe I should just tell him it's me.
00:45:20I mean, I don't like misleading him.
00:45:23You said you like doing these things for people, but you want to stay anonymous, right?
00:45:26Yes.
00:45:27So let's try my plan.
00:45:29You get to spend time with Scott and do your good deeds.
00:45:35Okay. But if he asks me, I'm going to tell him the truth.
00:45:37Agreed.
00:45:39So, what's your next mission, Agent Double S?
00:45:44Secret Santa.
00:45:46Okay, I have some ideas.
00:45:59Merry Christmas, Colleen.
00:46:01How'd you know it was me?
00:46:04Can I help you find anything?
00:46:15You want to buy all these toys?
00:46:17That's right.
00:46:20Ring them up.
00:46:22Happy to. It'll take me a few minutes.
00:46:24Wait a sec. Colleen, are you the Secret Santa?
00:46:28Me?
00:46:29Me? No.
00:46:31Let's just say I work for a client who is, okay?
00:46:35Oh, okay. Cool.
00:46:37So I'm going to buy all those toys, but I need you to do something for me.
00:46:41Sure. Anything.
00:46:42Great. If anyone asks, here's what I want you to say.
00:46:51This goes all through town and it stops at a great little restaurant where they have some very good fondue.
00:46:56And Jamie, can I talk to you for a second?
00:46:58Yeah, sure.
00:46:59Um, hey Colleen, can you come help this couple book a trolley tour?
00:47:03Sure.
00:47:04Hey.
00:47:05What's up?
00:47:07Well, I have some good news.
00:47:09Someone bought all the toy drive gifts.
00:47:12Yes, that's awesome.
00:47:13But also, is there something you want to tell me?
00:47:18Oh, no. Not that I can think of.
00:47:22Really?
00:47:22Because I know for a fact you've been hiding something from me.
00:47:27Okay, I was going to tell you.
00:47:29I didn't mean any harm.
00:47:31Let me explain.
00:47:32Please do.
00:47:33Because it was pretty shocking to find out online that you're dating Scott Morris.
00:47:37No.
00:47:39That.
00:47:39Yes.
00:47:41I can explain that.
00:47:43Why don't I take you for a coffee?
00:47:44Hmm?
00:47:45So, earlier this morning, a customer wearing a hat and sunglasses bought all the remaining gifts for the Cooperville Toy
00:47:52Drive.
00:47:52Someone who the owner here describes as being a very tall, over six-foot female with blonde, curly hair, used
00:48:01a cane, but had no noticeable limp.
00:48:05Did I get that right?
00:48:06Now that I think about it, she could have been wearing a wig.
00:48:09Well, there you have it, everybody.
00:48:11Who is this mystery person?
00:48:15Great.
00:48:16Thank you so much.
00:48:18I think.
00:48:19Don't mention it.
00:48:25He's a pretty great guy.
00:48:27He's funny and smart.
00:48:31Down to earth and handsome.
00:48:36You like him.
00:48:38We're still getting to know each other.
00:48:41I can't believe you didn't tell me.
00:48:43You never keep secrets from me.
00:48:47Maybe I do.
00:48:48Oh, really?
00:48:49What else are you keeping from me besides Scott?
00:48:53And speak of the devil.
00:48:56Jamie.
00:48:57Hi.
00:48:59Do you remember my niece?
00:49:02How could I forget? Hi, Kylie.
00:49:03Hi.
00:49:04I didn't think you'd be back in Cooperville so soon.
00:49:07Well, I was just at your husband's toy shop and it seems that someone in a disguise bought all the
00:49:13toys for the toy drive, so the mystery continues.
00:49:16Your job is so cool.
00:49:19Isn't his job cool?
00:49:20So cool.
00:49:22I better get back to the studio.
00:49:24I'll see you.
00:49:25Do you want to join us for dinner tonight?
00:49:27Our third wheel over here needs a date.
00:49:29I wasn't aware we had dinner plans.
00:49:32He must have forgotten.
00:49:33You should join us.
00:49:35I would love to.
00:49:37Where's dinner?
00:49:38It's a surprise.
00:49:39Aunt Jamie will send you all the details.
00:49:41Just don't wear anything fancy.
00:49:43Okay?
00:49:45Perfect.
00:49:46I'll see you there.
00:49:47Okay.
00:49:50Looks like we have a double date.
00:49:59Did you get it?
00:50:01Don't be shy. Come on up.
00:50:02Would you like some bread?
00:50:03There you go.
00:50:04Thanks for being here.
00:50:05Merry Christmas.
00:50:06Have seconds if you want it, okay?
00:50:08Lots of food.
00:50:09Lots of food, everybody.
00:50:11Hey, thanks for this.
00:50:13Really.
00:50:14I mean, usually I spend so much time at the studio reporting on other people's good deeds,
00:50:19and it just feels great to actually be helping out myself.
00:50:22So thank you.
00:50:27What?
00:50:29I was just thinking.
00:50:30I've watched you for so many years every morning on TV.
00:50:33I felt like I knew you, and now I'm getting to know you in real life in a soup kitchen.
00:50:40It's not.
00:50:41It's just all still a little surreal.
00:50:45You know that I'm just a regular guy who wears makeup every day and talks to people, right?
00:50:51I think you're a little more than that, Scott.
00:50:57Well, hello.
00:50:58Oh my gosh, look at you.
00:50:59You're all cozy.
00:51:01Merry Christmas.
00:51:09You guys are going to love France, especially Paris.
00:51:12I mean, the sights and the food, the bread.
00:51:16You cannot fathom how good the bread is.
00:51:19Mmm, bread. I love bread.
00:51:20You think you love bread now. You just wait.
00:51:23Man.
00:51:24When's the honeymoon?
00:51:26It was supposed to be this week, but we decided to postpone for a while.
00:51:30That's too bad. How come?
00:51:31We want to buy a house next year, so we decided to save as much as we can for now.
00:51:35These two are far too young to be so sensible.
00:51:38We'll get to Paris eventually, right?
00:51:40Right.
00:51:41So what else are you working on besides this Secret Santa story?
00:51:43Hmm.
00:51:45A lot of serious journalism.
00:51:46As a matter of fact, a caroling competition.
00:51:48There's a dog that can bark Jingle Bell.
00:51:51It's big stuff.
00:51:52No, I love it. I really do.
00:51:54But the viewers, they just want to find out who's behind these stories of anonymous generosity.
00:51:58That's what they want to know.
00:52:00Really?
00:52:02I don't see why it's so interesting.
00:52:06Why's that?
00:52:08Well, at the heart of it, it's just some guy giving people a bunch of stuff they don't really need.
00:52:20What?
00:52:22Just, um, I'm a little surprised hearing that come from you.
00:52:26Well, I don't mean to sound cold-hearted, um, but I'm just, I'm a little tired of this whole Secret
00:52:32Santa gag.
00:52:36Well, I'm not. And I'm happy to help however I can.
00:52:40We know just about everyone in town.
00:52:42Scott's a professional reporter. He'll be fine.
00:52:45Personally, I say go with the talented dog.
00:52:48This fruitcake just really looks good.
00:52:52Mmm.
00:52:53So good. You should try it.
00:53:01Okay.
00:53:04Good morning.
00:53:05Good morning.
00:53:06Don't good morning me.
00:53:08I barely slept last night because I couldn't stop thinking about dinner and how weird you were acting.
00:53:13And then it hit me.
00:53:15It's you, isn't it?
00:53:17I'm not following.
00:53:19You can't fool me.
00:53:21It's you.
00:53:22You're Cooperville's Secret Santa.
00:53:25Okay, yes, it's me.
00:53:27I can't believe I didn't figure it out sooner.
00:53:30I mean, it all makes perfect sense.
00:53:33But why don't you want anyone to know?
00:53:35Because I didn't do any of those things for attention.
00:53:38So you acted like a weirdo at dinner, so Scott wouldn't think it was you.
00:53:43Colleen told me to act scroogey, which felt so weird. I'm not doing that again.
00:53:48Colleen knows?
00:53:49Yes, I needed help.
00:53:51I couldn't just walk into David's shop and order up all the toys, could I?
00:53:55I'm gonna tell Scott.
00:53:57Kylie.
00:53:58Unless you let me help with your next anonymous gift.
00:54:01Of course, yes, you can help.
00:54:03My last Christmas here before we move will be so memorable.
00:54:07So, what's the next plan?
00:54:09I haven't thought of it yet. They kinda just come to me.
00:54:13I know.
00:54:14How about we adopt a family?
00:54:17We find a family that's had an especially hard year and we help give them a great Christmas.
00:54:23Someone like...
00:54:24The Cain family.
00:54:26Sean's carpentry business has really been struggling.
00:54:29Yeah, and Marcy lost her job. They could really use some holiday cheer.
00:54:32Let's give the Cain family their best Christmas ever.
00:54:37So, Kylie knows our secret?
00:54:40She figured me out.
00:54:43The more the merrier.
00:54:45So, what's the plan, secret Samaritan?
00:54:58Jamie! Jamie! Hi!
00:55:01Scott! Hi!
00:55:02You, uh, planning on feeding the whole town?
00:55:06No.
00:55:07Of course not, no.
00:55:09Uh, wouldn't be the holidays if you didn't overeat.
00:55:12I know I do.
00:55:13You got like 30 bags of groceries there.
00:55:16Yes, I do.
00:55:18You need some help?
00:55:20No, I'm good.
00:55:21I didn't expect you to be back in town so soon.
00:55:23You working on another story?
00:55:25Better get to it.
00:55:27Yeah, well, we probably should get back to work.
00:55:30Actually, just wanted to say hi.
00:55:33Hey, um, you free tonight?
00:55:37There's a place in West Hudson I'd love to take you to if you are.
00:55:40Uh, uh, yeah. Okay.
00:55:42Great. Okay, I'll text you the address.
00:55:44Alright.
00:55:45Okay. Are you sure you don't need any help?
00:55:47No, I'm good.
00:55:49Okay. Let's do it.
00:55:57You think he suspects you?
00:55:59No.
00:56:00I mean, he was looking at me weird, but I don't think he thought much of it.
00:56:03People stock up during the holidays, right?
00:56:05Not that much.
00:56:08Should we call it off?
00:56:10No. No way.
00:56:12He's taking me somewhere tonight, and I think that will buy us enough time to get to Christmas if I
00:56:17have your help.
00:56:20Absolutely.
00:56:30Hey, Colleen.
00:56:33So, another person knows our secret?
00:56:36Sorry. I had to tell him. I couldn't load everything by myself.
00:56:39Plus, we're newlyweds. We don't keep secrets from each other.
00:56:44I totally get it.
00:56:46Alright. Let's do this.
00:56:49This will work for you. Look inside.
00:56:53Uh, yeah. Put that on.
00:57:02We look ridiculous.
00:57:04I think that's the point.
00:57:05Now, if we're spotted, it'll be hard for them to identify us.
00:57:31Let's...
00:57:39Hi.
00:57:40Wow.
00:57:43You look amazing.
00:57:44Not that you don't always look beautiful.
00:57:48Now...
00:57:50Time to stop talking.
00:57:52Breaking news. Scott Morris, speechless.
00:57:58I've never been here before.
00:58:01Where is everybody?
00:58:05Did you buy this place out?
00:58:08It's just my way to say thank you.
00:58:09For sharing your town's Christmas with me.
00:58:13Shall we?
00:58:14We shall. Definitely.
00:58:16Okay. Here. Let me get this.
00:58:21Okay.
00:58:26You okay there?
00:58:27Yeah. I got it.
00:58:28I got it.
00:58:32Shhh.
00:58:33David, be careful.
00:58:38Shhh.
00:58:40Okay, let's go.
00:58:41Master guys.
00:58:44Here.
00:58:56Ooh, okay. What are we having?
00:58:57Oh, here we go. I had the chef prepare some of the Morris family Christmas classics. The Cornish Hen, which
00:59:03is kind of the star of the show a little bit. And then you've got a little bit of the
00:59:06mashed maple sweet potato. It's so good.
00:59:08Gosh, it all looks so amazing.
00:59:10Good. I'm glad.
00:59:11Being here for the holidays for a change just got me reminiscing about family Christmases and the feasts that we
00:59:17used to have.
00:59:19The Morris's don't do Christmas dinners anymore?
00:59:21Well, my sister moved to New Zealand. My folks passed away a few years ago, so...
00:59:27I'm sorry.
00:59:29Yeah, me too. I miss them. Especially this time of year.
00:59:33So are you glad that you stayed in town for Christmas?
00:59:36Absolutely.
00:59:38I love being here for a lot of reasons.
00:59:42Reminded me of what I love most at Christmas time.
00:59:45The way people come together and the joy that you get from Christmas traditions.
00:59:50I mean, I totally get why you love this town so much.
00:59:54And I know what I'm missing from my own life.
00:59:57And if I jetted off to Belize, I wouldn't have met you.
01:00:26Marcy, kids, come here! You have to see this!
01:00:29What is it, honey?
01:00:31Wha...
01:00:35I can't...
01:00:36This is amazing!
01:00:39This is incredible!
01:00:41Kids, look over here!
01:00:42Grab the one on top.
01:00:45Yay!
01:00:46So many presents!
01:00:48Honey, look at this!
01:00:50Yes!
01:00:51Yes, it's a huge present!
01:00:54Yes, Secret Santa spoiled us!
01:00:57Kids!
01:00:58Do you believe the Secret Santa came here?
01:01:00Grab all this stuff!
01:01:02Anyone else got the warm fuzzies?
01:01:10This is ridiculously good.
01:01:12Good.
01:01:13I'm so happy I got a secret for you because as good as the food is here, and I love
01:01:17the food,
01:01:18I actually come for the gingerbread cake.
01:01:21It's so great.
01:01:23And you're probably wondering what these guys are.
01:01:25Another Morris family tradition right here.
01:01:27These are Christmas crackers from England.
01:01:31Okay.
01:01:33Typically, you open them before the meal, but my parents always used to make us wait until dessert.
01:01:38So pretty.
01:01:39I'm going to show you how to do them.
01:01:40Okay.
01:01:40So you go in here, and you find the little tab.
01:01:43Uh-huh.
01:01:44And I'm going to show you right now why they call it a cracker.
01:01:46And make sure you squeeze them hard.
01:01:48And then on the count of three, everybody pulls at the same time.
01:01:50You got them?
01:01:51Okay. Ready?
01:01:51Here we go. One, two, three.
01:01:54Isn't that good?
01:01:55Yeah.
01:01:57Wow.
01:01:57What is all of this?
01:01:59It's just more surprises.
01:02:00For instance, I got a joke for you.
01:02:03Who is Santa's favorite singer?
01:02:07Uh, yeah. I don't know.
01:02:10Elphys Presley.
01:02:13Good one.
01:02:14Okay. Ready? I'll tell you mine.
01:02:16What do reindeer hang on their Christmas trees?
01:02:21I have no idea.
01:02:23Horniments.
01:02:24Horniments.
01:02:28I thought mine was bad.
01:02:29Now, if you choose to open that up, you got to wear it.
01:02:35That's open now. You got to wear it.
01:02:37Okay.
01:02:38Like this.
01:02:42See that?
01:02:44Look at you.
01:02:46How is it possible that you still look great wearing this?
01:02:50How about a little coronation dance?
01:02:52Okay.
01:02:52Yeah?
01:02:53Mm-hmm.
01:02:54Since we're royalty.
01:02:55Okay. If you say so.
01:03:16All right.
01:03:21Good.
01:03:24Okay.
01:03:25Let's do it.
01:03:26I'm going to go ahead.
01:03:30There's something I want to tell you.
01:03:35It's okay, you can answer it.
01:03:37No, no, no. What were you going to say?
01:03:41It might be an emergency. Go ahead.
01:03:45Okay.
01:03:47Thanks.
01:03:49It's an anonymous text.
01:03:52Secret Santa does it again.
01:03:54Oh.
01:03:55And there's a video attached.
01:03:56No.
01:03:57You know what? It's work.
01:03:59No, I can look at it later.
01:04:00I want to see it.
01:04:01Okay.
01:04:07Yay!
01:04:08This is incredible.
01:04:10Ah, the Kane family.
01:04:13I know them well.
01:04:15You do?
01:04:15Mm-hmm.
01:04:17I'd love to interview them.
01:04:19Could you introduce me, maybe?
01:04:22Sure, yeah.
01:04:24Great.
01:04:25Okay, um, what were you going to say?
01:04:31Oh, um, I just, I wanted to say that I'm really glad I met you.
01:04:40Me too.
01:04:53What a wonderful Christmas moment caught on camera.
01:04:56Absolutely.
01:04:57It's been a very tough year for the Kane family, but thanks to someone they may never get a chance
01:05:01to thank, at least their Christmas will be a memorable one.
01:05:05It's a great reminder about what the holidays are all about.
01:05:08Absolutely.
01:05:09See you tomorrow, everybody.
01:05:10Bye-bye.
01:05:17I've been getting emails from all over the county from people inspired to give back in their own communities.
01:05:22Hmm.
01:05:22Well, that means that we are doing our job, right?
01:05:24Yeah, absolutely.
01:05:25Excuse me.
01:05:26Okay.
01:05:28This is Scott Morris.
01:05:32Really?
01:05:34Last night felt so good.
01:05:36It's a shame you missed it.
01:05:38But I guess that was the point.
01:05:42Uh, we have a problem.
01:05:45Last night with Scott was so perfect.
01:05:50That's fantastic.
01:05:51Yeah, I'm not really seeing the problem.
01:05:54What the problem is, I'm not being honest with him.
01:05:56Right when I was about to tell him the truth, the phone beeped with that video and I chickened out.
01:06:01Good.
01:06:01No, not good.
01:06:02I don't like keeping secrets from the only man that I've really liked in a very long time.
01:06:07So here's what I'm going to do.
01:06:09I am going to just come clean and I'm going to tell him the truth, say I'm sorry for wasting
01:06:13your time, even though I could have added myself days ago, and just hope that he looks past it.
01:06:20Or we could stop the anonymous donations.
01:06:23He has nothing to report on.
01:06:25Christmas arrives, the story is forgotten, and no one ever knows.
01:06:28No, he deserves better than that.
01:06:31You're right.
01:06:32You should tell him.
01:06:33Right now.
01:06:34Now?
01:06:35Well, he's about to walk in through the door.
01:06:40How'd you do that?
01:06:41You guys are not going to believe us.
01:06:43But we found the secret Santa.
01:06:46What?
01:06:47Who?
01:06:48The person responsible for all this anonymous generosity.
01:06:51I'm going to go meet him right now.
01:06:52Give him a little pre-interview before I get him on the show tomorrow.
01:06:55Would it be okay if I came with you?
01:06:57I don't see why not.
01:06:59Okay.
01:07:01Great.
01:07:02Let's go.
01:07:08So, why did you want to do these things anonymously?
01:07:12I just wanted to spread, you know, some holiday cheer, make people happy.
01:07:17So, am I going to be on TV tomorrow?
01:07:19Oh, well, we've got a couple things to go over before we start scheduling the...
01:07:23Sorry.
01:07:24I'm just...
01:07:24I'm curious about one thing.
01:07:26What made you want to fund that trip to New York for those five students?
01:07:32They're great kids.
01:07:33They deserve it.
01:07:36Well, except it was D.C.
01:07:37And they're a quartet.
01:07:41That's a quartet.
01:07:42It's four kids, not five.
01:07:44Yeah, yeah.
01:07:44Four.
01:07:45I know that.
01:07:46Anyway, they're going to D.C.
01:07:47And that's all that matters to me.
01:07:49What can I say?
01:07:50I'm just bursting with holiday spirit.
01:07:53So, would it be all right if we shoot the interview at my tire shop instead of the studio?
01:07:58Yeah, I can make that happen.
01:08:01The Christmas tree in front of Town Square.
01:08:04What was your inspiration for that?
01:08:07I go with my gut.
01:08:09And it felt like, you know, every town needs a Christmas tree.
01:08:13So, we...
01:08:14We good?
01:08:16Where'd you get it?
01:08:23Joe's Christmas trees.
01:08:26Okay.
01:08:28I don't need you cross-examining me and questioning my motives, okay?
01:08:31I withdraw my admission.
01:08:33I'm not the secret Santa.
01:08:35You happy now?
01:08:44You really thought it was him, though?
01:08:46Well, I mean, I wanted to break this story before Christmas, so I guess just part of me wanted to
01:08:51believe it.
01:08:53Can I ask you something?
01:08:57Um, does finding out this person's identity really matter?
01:09:01I mean, it's just another news story, right?
01:09:04Yeah, I mean, I thought that at first, but it's just such a feel-good mystery that people are getting
01:09:08so interested in.
01:09:09I gotta believe that it's inspired people to celebrate Christmas a little differently this year.
01:09:13You know what I mean?
01:09:15Yeah, I do.
01:09:18Well, I better get back to the studio.
01:09:21Me too.
01:09:22I mean, to the office.
01:09:24Okay.
01:09:26See you later.
01:09:27All right.
01:09:33Hey, this is Scott.
01:09:34Leave me a message, and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
01:09:37Hi, Scott.
01:09:38It's Jamie.
01:09:39I was hoping that you could meet me at the auditorium where we first met tonight at 8.
01:09:46I'll be there with the secret Santa.
01:09:50Okay.
01:09:51Bye.
01:09:53You should do this again next year.
01:09:55Hmm.
01:09:55I don't know.
01:09:56I loved helping people, but keeping it a secret has not been easy.
01:10:00What do you want to show me?
01:10:08Look what you've inspired.
01:10:12Wow.
01:10:14How cool is this?
01:10:16People from all over the county donated.
01:10:18This is amazing.
01:10:21I'm so glad.
01:10:23But I'm really feeling like this was all a big mistake.
01:10:28I don't like misleading Scott.
01:10:30I'm going to tell him the truth tonight.
01:10:32Hopefully he will respect my wishes and keep my secret.
01:10:36What if he doesn't?
01:10:39I'll just have to accept whatever happens.
01:10:42I have to go.
01:10:44See you later.
01:10:54Hey, I need your help with something.
01:11:06Oh, there she is.
01:11:07But where's the secret Santa?
01:11:13Hey.
01:11:13Hi.
01:11:15I didn't expect to find you alone.
01:11:17About that, I came here to tell you that I'm the secret Santa.
01:11:22What?
01:11:24Kylie?
01:11:26Actually, it's me.
01:11:29Wait.
01:11:30Jamie, what's going on?
01:11:31I have no idea, but I came here to tell you that I'm...
01:11:34Secret Santa here.
01:11:36Wait a second, guys.
01:11:38So let me get this straight.
01:11:39All of you were lying to me?
01:11:41No.
01:11:42It was me.
01:11:43To string me along so that you'd get more publicity for your town?
01:11:46Is that what this is about?
01:11:47Is that what's happening?
01:11:47No.
01:11:48And if you would just let me explain...
01:11:49All of this was a lie.
01:11:50Scott, if you would just give me a chance to explain...
01:11:53Explain what?
01:11:54I don't even know what's happening here.
01:11:56They had nothing to do with it, okay?
01:11:58We were just trying to help.
01:12:00I have been wanting to tell you the truth this whole time.
01:12:04I trusted you.
01:12:09Scott.
01:12:12Scott.
01:12:28We wanted to stop by and make sure you're okay.
01:12:31Yeah, that'd be fine.
01:12:33Besides, it's Christmas.
01:12:34Not a time to mope around, right?
01:12:36We're sorry about what happened with Scott.
01:12:38Maybe we took things a little too far.
01:12:41No, don't be.
01:12:42If anything, you two helped me do good deeds for a lot of people.
01:12:45Good morning, you two.
01:12:46Oh, Kylie, something came for you this morning.
01:12:51For me?
01:12:52Here?
01:12:53I was surprised too.
01:12:58What is it?
01:13:02Two tickets to France, leaving tonight!
01:13:09Aunt Jamie, this is so sweet.
01:13:12You did not have to do this.
01:13:14No, I didn't.
01:13:16Really?
01:13:17I swear, it wasn't me.
01:13:19David?
01:13:20Is this one of your surprises?
01:13:21Not me.
01:13:24Don't look at me.
01:13:28Is there a note in there or anything?
01:13:31Nothing.
01:13:34Wait.
01:13:35Did we just get Secret Santa?
01:13:38It looks that way.
01:13:41Well, bon voyage.
01:13:45Well, it looks like we'll be away for Christmas after all.
01:13:49Which I couldn't be happier about.
01:13:52You two deserve the best honeymoon ever.
01:13:58Thanks.
01:13:59And we better get packing.
01:14:01Like, now.
01:14:02Yeah, you guys have a great time.
01:14:04Send me lots of pics, okay?
01:14:05We will.
01:14:06Merry Christmas.
01:14:07Uh, I gotta make some calls.
01:14:09Okay.
01:14:12Well, I have to admit, you made this the most memorable Christmas ever.
01:14:17Not too stale for you?
01:14:19No.
01:14:19Not at all.
01:14:20Well, I think Uncle Matt would have been proud of us.
01:14:24Me too.
01:14:27Miss you.
01:14:28I'll miss you too.
01:14:29And you swear this wasn't you.
01:14:32Believe it or not, this is one of those random acts that I had nothing to do with.
01:14:38I'll miss you.
01:14:41And hey, Aunt Jamie, maybe you should give him a call.
01:14:47Yeah, maybe I will.
01:14:52I'll miss you.
01:16:11There's something I shouldn't tell you.
01:16:13But there's something I want to tell you.
01:16:16I have been wanting to tell you the whole time.
01:16:39Christmas Eve is finally here.
01:16:40Scott, I understand you have a very special story that you want to share with us today.
01:16:43I really do.
01:16:44I do.
01:16:45And if I look a little tired this morning, it's only because I was up very late last night working
01:16:49on it.
01:16:50I'm sure our viewers are wondering if you finally unmasked Cooperville's secret Santa.
01:16:56I'm sure they are.
01:16:58And I'm sorry to say that I have not, but I have an even better story that I'd like to
01:17:04share with all of you.
01:17:06But before I do that, I need to say a heartfelt thank you to all the people of Cooperville for
01:17:11sharing this Christmas with me.
01:17:14I've got to say, for the first time in many years, I've got to say, for the first time in
01:17:18many years, I really felt home for the holidays.
01:17:19So thank you.
01:17:20And without further ado, here's the story.
01:17:24Hope you enjoy.
01:17:28The holiday season means a lot of things to a lot of people.
01:17:33But for the town of Cooperville, this year, Christmas was all about a secret Santa.
01:17:38And it seems everyone wanted to be one, whether it was making a difference close to home, helping out a
01:17:45friend, or providing something for strangers in need.
01:17:50So what started as a personal, anonymous mission quickly spread to an entire community.
01:17:57It's just so easy to say a quick Merry Christmas and then just get lost in our hectic holiday plans.
01:18:03But the residents of Cooperville consciously made time to give.
01:18:09They rolled up their sleeves and they showed each other, they showed all of us, what this season is truly
01:18:15all about.
01:18:15It's about letting others know that you care.
01:18:19It's about showing them that they matter.
01:18:22It's about doing for others.
01:18:24And the Secret Santas of Cooperville have done just that.
01:18:34I don't know what to say.
01:18:37My work the last couple of weeks definitely has reminded me that there's good out there in the world and
01:18:41that people need to see it.
01:18:44And honestly, I don't want to stop telling these stories.
01:18:46You think maybe Cory's going to want to take vacation every Christmas?
01:18:48He might.
01:18:50So, no more jet-setting to exotic places at the holidays for you?
01:18:54I think I'm going to save those for summer hiatus.
01:18:57Oh.
01:18:57It's like somebody's got their holiday spirit back.
01:19:01So, how will you be planning to spend Christmas?
01:19:04I mean, I hate to picture you sitting all alone in your condo watching the snowfall.
01:19:09I'll think of something.
01:19:10Mm-mm.
01:19:11I will think for you.
01:19:14Call her.
01:19:17Merry Christmas, Amari.
01:19:26I should just text him.
01:19:28I should text him.
01:19:29I should call him.
01:19:31Mm-mm.
01:19:32But if he doesn't want to talk to me, then I'll just send my call to voicemail.
01:19:36What do I say?
01:19:36I don't know what to say.
01:19:40And then if I don't say anything on the voicemail, he'll still know I called because...
01:19:45You know what?
01:19:46I should just go old school.
01:20:06This is great.
01:20:10Looking for someone?
01:20:13You're Amari Harris.
01:20:15I am.
01:20:16And you are...
01:20:18Jamie.
01:20:19Monroe.
01:20:20I...
01:20:20I'm...
01:20:21I was looking for Scott.
01:20:22Is he around?
01:20:24No.
01:20:24He left a while ago.
01:20:26Said he was going home.
01:20:27Okay.
01:20:29Okay.
01:20:30You could call him.
01:20:34Merry Christmas.
01:20:39Hey, this is Scott.
01:20:41Leave me a message and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
01:20:44Hi.
01:20:45It's me.
01:20:46Jamie.
01:20:48Um...
01:20:49Look, I wanted to apologize for what happened.
01:20:52And I had no idea that Kylie and my friends would interfere like that.
01:20:57And I would never waste your time or mislead you.
01:21:03I was just trying to help a few people out and spread some Christmas cheer in my town.
01:21:10But then, something unexpected happened.
01:21:15I met you.
01:21:18And we got to know each other.
01:21:21And I got to see what a kind, good man you are.
01:21:28And for the first time, when we kissed, I felt like I was ready to have love in my life
01:21:36again.
01:21:39And that is the best Christmas present I could hope for.
01:21:44So, thank you.
01:21:49Merry Christmas.
01:21:53Merry Christmas.
01:22:01Well, I don't like to toot my own horn, but...
01:22:05You pulled it off, Mr. Mayor.
01:22:07We pulled it off.
01:22:08Teamwork.
01:22:09And that story that Scott did, boy, that was really touching.
01:22:13I actually got a little misty-eyed.
01:22:16Me too.
01:22:18It was you, wasn't it?
01:22:21I don't know what you're talking about.
01:22:23You can deny it all you want, but that was a good thing you did, Jamie.
01:22:28I'm very proud of you.
01:22:32Hey, that's my cue.
01:22:33Care to join us for a little caroling at the gazebo?
01:22:36I think I'm going to head home soon.
01:22:39But Merry Christmas.
01:22:41Hey, she was well.
01:23:10I didn't expect to see you here.
01:23:13After almost 48 hours, I started to miss this town.
01:23:18And I got a mystery invitation.
01:23:20Apparently, the Winter Carnival is the place to be on Christmas Eve.
01:23:25That it is.
01:23:28Especially since you're here.
01:23:32Take it you got my message.
01:23:35The story you did was really amazing.
01:23:39Only because you're amazing.
01:23:40All those selfless acts inspired so many people.
01:23:44Where'd you get all those pictures?
01:23:46Flash drive just showed up at my office yesterday, anonymously, of course.
01:23:51Huh.
01:23:52Kylie.
01:23:54Speaking of Kylie, I hope she and David are enjoying their flight to Paris right now.
01:23:58Once you fly first class, there's just no going back.
01:24:01First class?
01:24:02Uh-huh.
01:24:03Uh-huh.
01:24:04You are the one that anonymously gifted that trip to them.
01:24:08I had some miles saved up, and I honestly don't believe that anybody should have to wait for their honeymoon,
01:24:13so.
01:24:17Besides, this way I get you all to myself this Christmas.
01:24:22As long as there's no more secrets.
01:24:26No more secrets.
01:24:27I promise.
01:24:30Until next year.
01:24:39I've been dreaming of Christmas time
01:24:48Every day through the year
01:24:57Free shine in every window
01:25:06Children all dream
01:25:10Of reindeer hoofprints in the snow
01:25:14Christmas time
01:25:16The best time of the year
01:25:20feel of Cabin
01:25:20We can't be here
01:25:25Alliqueness
01:25:26Because suddenly
01:25:27For lie
