Melinda French Gates is showing other billionaires how to spend their money—starting with addressing a lack of funding for women’s health in the U.S. and around the globe.

Across two hourlong interviews, French Gates talked to Fortune's Emma Hinchliffe about why this work matters to her and to the world—and how she hopes it might influence others with power.

00:00I think I would say to them that, look, it's challenging to speak out right now, right?
00:06And so there are many people doing work behind the scenes, but I think you can look at what
00:13people do, their actions. I mean, you know, we have the old adage, actions speak louder than
00:18words, right? I look back at the giving Mackenzie Bezos has done in the last year. Look at what she
00:23has said about historically black colleges in the United States and the importance of them.
00:28I think that would be very encouraging to me if I was a young black woman in college or
00:35Roz Brewer, who's been the president of Spelman. She's about to move out of that role, but she
00:40says like those, those grants are fundamental because, you know, she's, her schools are
00:45teaching confidence in the skills young women need to go into the workforce. But to say someone
00:49else cares about our institution too at a large level, that scale matters. People are maybe
00:56not always speaking about their grant making, but boy, they are doing it behind the scenes.
01:02Please don't be happy to be happy to be happy to be happy to be happy to have any plans.
