00:00Congress quarters now and this is about the Rajya Sabha nominations. Let's take a look at that.
00:04The Congress Chief, Malik Arjun Khadge, filing the Rajya Sabha nomination.
00:09Now, remember that, of course, Malik Arjun Khadge is representing the upper house of the parliament for the Congress party.
00:16But this one coming in from the Rajya Sabha nomination at the Vidant Sauda,
00:21where Rahul Gandhi, Sidhara Maya, D.K. Shiv Kumar accompanying the party president for the nomination.
00:27Just to tell you, Rajya Sabha elections are set to take place on 18th of June.
00:32Congress has put forth some new names as well that have come in,
00:36especially with regard to the loyalists of the party who have been there for several years.
00:42And now we are told, Malik Arjun Khadge, who has of course been in the upper house already.
00:47And this time, ahead of the elections, when you are flanked by the topmost leadership,
00:52Sidhara Maya, former CM, D.K. Shiv Kumar, now the CM, leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha,
00:58Rajya Sabha, in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who is of course a senior leader,
01:02when they are accompanying Malik Arjun Khadge, it just shows the kind of support and unity they have.
01:11So, Congress party basically, just to tell you a little bit about the background,
01:14have released a list of the ones they have decided to nominate to the Rajya Sabha.
01:21They have also nominated Mansoor Ali Khan from Karnataka,
01:26Congress loyalist and spokesperson Pawan Khera,
01:29who also we know had been closely associated and worked with
01:33former Chief Minister Sheila Dixit for several years.
01:37Also, other names in the list of Rajya Sabha by-elections include
01:40Meenakshi Natarajan from Madhya Pradesh, Neeraj Dangi from Rajasthan,
01:43Praveen Chakravarti from Tamil Nadu and Pranav Jha from Jharkhand.
01:47Now, Pranav Jha, who most of us know, having covered the Congress party,
01:51that is not someone who has been at the forefront often,
01:55but has done a lot of background work and has been involved in media coordination,
02:00so has been an important person and factor for the Congress party.
02:04So, the Rajya Sabha elections for 24 seats in 10 states will be done on 18th of June.
02:11There's also a bi-poll to the upper house for one seat each in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Odisha.
02:15And 8th June is the final nomination that has happened.
02:20So, remember earlier when the names had come up,
02:23Pawan Khera had also put forth a cryptic post, we remember,
02:27about tapasya, so to say, it looks like that the tapasya has borne fruit.
02:31For now, it is Malikarjan Khadge, party president,
02:35set to return to the Rajya Sabha,
02:37flanked by the top leadership of the state and from Delhi,
02:42from the high command, there as he files his nomination papers.
