An article entitled “The Journey of Finding the Tallest Tree in Formosa Taiwan” has been published in the journal Frontiers in Forests and Global Change. The project was completed with the help of the public poring through tens of thousands of images to find giant trees across Taiwan. The findings identify the country's 10 largest trees, some of which are among the tallest known in East Asia. The giant Taiwania fir "Heaven's Sword" stands over 84 meters tall in central Taiwan.
