00:06According to a representative for the Orleans Parish Criminal District Court,
00:10the 39-year-old actor pleaded guilty in court to Simple Battery in connection with an altercation at a Maroney
00:16bar in February.
00:18LaBeouf was sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence and two years of active probation.
00:23He must also complete anger management and sensitivity training. The case has now been closed.
00:28His attorney, Sarah Chervinsky, told Page Six that the police and district attorney's investigation
00:33proved what LaBeouf had said from the beginning, that the incident was nothing more than a minor Mardi Gras bar
00:38tussle.
00:39The statement also said that there was no evidence the altercation was motivated by bias or prejudice
00:44and that LaBeouf wanted to take accountability for his role in what happened.
00:48According to his attorney, he is now focused on family, work, and new creative projects.
00:53The Orleans Parish District Attorney's Office formally charged LaBeouf last month.
00:57According to police, the Transformers star had been celebrating Mardi Gras for several days
01:02before he was arrested in the early morning hours of February 17th.
01:06Authorities said LaBeouf was asked to leave a French Quarter bar after allegedly becoming too rowdy.
01:11Witnesses described him as inebriated and somewhat belligerent.
01:14Police allege that after being escorted outside, LaBeouf punched an employee.
01:18Authorities said he later returned and became involved in another confrontation,
01:21allegedly striking the same employee in the chest and punching another person in the nose
01:26before being restrained until officers arrived.
01:29Videos obtained by TMZ appeared to show the actor involved in a physical altercation
01:33and later being taken away in an ambulance for treatment of unspecified injuries.
01:38After his release from the hospital, LaBeouf was arrested and booked into Orleans Parish Prison.
01:42With his guilty plea entered and sentencing complete, the case has officially come to an end.
