00:00I think it's very important for the United Kingdom to show leadership on the climate
00:05challenge.
00:06It's a very important challenge of our time.
00:08It's also, I've long believed, the single biggest opportunity for the next generation
00:13of jobs, and that's demonstrated in the fact that this morning here at COP I'm announcing
00:18a £1bn order for blades for offshore wind, which will be jobs in hull.
00:25Now that's really welcome news, I'm really pleased, there's a global race on for the
00:29jobs of the future in renewables.
00:31I'm absolutely determined that the UK is not just going to be in that race, but we're
00:36going to be winning that race, because that race is measured in well-paid jobs across the
00:40United Kingdom.
00:41Well I look forward to working with President Trump, of course I do, as I'll work with all
00:45global leaders on this, but we just had a very successful international summit for investment
00:51just a few weeks ago, which brought in over £60bn worth of investment.
00:55most of that was in renewables, and that's investment directly into the United Kingdom.
01:01We'll answer that our goal later on today, but look, it will be ambitious, and that's
01:06measured not by telling people what to do, it's measured by making sure that we get to
01:12clean power by 2030.
01:13That's the single most important target on the way to the emissions, and that will bring
01:18with it, lower bills for people for their energy, it will give them independence so that tyrants
01:24like Putin can't put his boot on our throat, causing all sorts of difficulties for our energy
01:28bills.
