Motherhood is one undeniable element in 'Margo's Got Money Troubles' and Elle Fanning wanted to channel that in every way she could. In this video, she explains how helpful it was to have experienced mothers (and babies) on the set of the Apple TV original and how it shaped her portrayal.

00:00Gosh, I mean, it is such a, I know, it's such a running theme in the show.
00:04I mean, particularly, you know, we had real babies on set.
00:07River and Graham, who are our little sweet babies that we all really bonded with,
00:11and who, like, are unbelievable actors.
00:14Like, they add so much to the scenes and would look exactly on cue or make a noise.
00:20Like, it was crazy how good they were.
00:24But, yeah, I mean, obviously I was surrounded by a lot of mothers on set,
00:29and so, you know, I don't know what breastfeeding feels like or that pain.
00:34Or we were talking about, you know, Bodhi has colic and just the emotions that are, you know,
00:40the hormones that are coursing through your body and what that feels like
00:43and what Margot's going through.
00:45You know, I don't have any children.
00:46I haven't experienced that yet.
00:48So I definitely leaned on the mothers around me.
00:51And for the birthing scene, I mean, I was asking Michelle a lot of, like, is this real?
00:55Like, what is, you know, what's this pain?
00:56So just trying to, you know, fine-tune it so that when people watch the show,
01:01they feel like they can relate and maybe see a little bit of what they experienced.
01:06I mean, also, Margot doesn't have all the answers.
01:08She's a young mom who's also trying to figure it out.
01:12So in the moments, if I felt a little tentative like that,
01:16I wanted to bring that to Margot's, you know, what she was going through.
