In a remarkable survival story, veteran Nepali guide Dawa Sherpa was found alive on Mount Everest six days after he was reported missing and feared dead. Last seen descending from high altitude after reaching the summit, he survived alone in one of the world’s harshest environments before being spotted slowly making his way toward Base Camp. Despite suffering frostbite, he was conscious and able to communicate after being rescued and flown to hospital. Climbers and rescuers have described his survival as extraordinary, calling it one of the most incredible self-rescue stories ever witnessed on Everest.
