00:07The United Nations University report predicts data centers will account for around 3% of global power consumption by 2030.
00:14They'll also use trillions of liters of water, take up tens of thousands of square kilometers of land,
00:20and leave behind over 2 million tons of electronic waste.
00:24The impact on places like Taiwan could be high.
00:26The country already ranks 9th globally in its number of data centers.
00:30The report recommends looking at all of these aspects, saying that low carbon does not mean low impact.
