00:00What's happening now in Bengal is some of the TMC leaders who've faced allegations of corruption, extortion, are now facing
00:08the wrath of people on the ground.
00:11There is one TMC, Neta, who was facing allegations of loot of the villagers, poor people, and was now seen
00:19hiding under a bed when people came looking for him.
00:22Right? That's the visual on your screen. Hiding under a bed when people, local villagers, angry villagers, as you can
00:29see, especially women, who wanted to come and they are seeking their money back.
00:35There have been earlier instances as well of extortion allegations against TMC leaders who were beaten up, who were then
00:41paraded through the villagers.
00:43Look at that visual on your screen. That when the villagers went looking for the leader, the Neta was seen
00:48under the bed hiding.
00:50This was with regard to a PM housing issue, which basically was a scam that allegedly was initiated or on
00:59the name of the PM housing.
01:01There was money taken from the local villagers and villagers have now come looking for this TMC leader.
01:07He was dragged out from under the bed and it's the cut money allegation basically that they were promised that
01:14you give me the money.
01:15I'll help that PM housing scheme for you. I'll get you a house. In turn, of course, nothing of that
01:20sort was going to happen.
01:21This is Kooch Bihar, ladies and gentlemen. And what an embarrassing situation for this leader to be hiding under the
01:29bed.
01:29Were there more like him who were asking or who asked people for money never to help in return?
02:03Ielse was going to be more like him because the
02:04So, we have to make a difference in the world.
02:09And we have to make a difference in the world.
02:11If we have to make a difference in the police,
02:16we will have to make a difference in the world.
02:34how people are taking their power back.
02:37They have landed up at this TMC leader's house.
02:40Tapas, any idea how much money possibly was taken by this leader?
02:44And how did he manage to even do it?
02:47Is he a powerful one?
02:49Well, yes, this leader belongs to Tremble Congress in Mathabanga
02:53and he happens to be a very, very influential leader
02:55at that very place in Mathabanga.
02:57What we gather from ground is that he used to take cut money
03:01from 2,000 to even 20,000, 25,000 for facilitating government schemes
03:06and for common people.
03:09And now when the Tremble Congress is not in power,
03:11it seems that like other places it has become a regular norm
03:14that people who owe money from these Tremble Congress leaders
03:18who have taken money from them going around and surrounding their houses
03:22and demanding for money.
03:23And in this case as well, people, at least 50, 60 people,
03:27went in a crowd and most importantly,
03:31the women beneficiaries of the government schemes
03:34were on the scene standing outside his house
03:37and trying to bring him out.
03:39And ultimately, when police was informed,
03:41when police reached, it was found that he was hiding under his bed
03:44and finally he was brought out
03:46and there was the irate crowd trying to target him,
03:49but deployment of huge police forces somehow rescued him.
03:51What we gather from Kuj Bihar police
03:54is that he has been detained and being interrogated right now.
03:57Exactly how many people have been frauded
03:59is still not known.
04:01Questioning is on.
04:02And if any complaints are filed officially with police,
04:05then for sure he will be arrested.
04:07But yes, there are at least 10 to 12 lakh rupees
04:10that is what we have been given to understand primarily
04:12that he has taken overall from that very village
04:15in order to provide government schemes to the people.
04:19Back to you.
04:19All right.
04:19Tapas is tracking all the latest on this.
04:21Over 8 lakh rupees from poor villagers with the promise,
04:24you give me the money, I'll get you housing
04:26from the PM housing scheme.
04:27Of course, that was not going to happen.
04:29The villagers have landed up at his door.
04:31He was found under the bed.
04:33And then also he was grabbed out from that location
04:37and the villagers then dealt with him.
