00:00Today 4th June, onset of monsoon happened in Kerala and it has covered up to Mangalore and then some parts
00:11of Tamil Nadu which is very close to our Western Ghats and extreme South Tamil Nadu and then it continues
00:21to Bay of Bengal and likewise.
00:24So in another 2-3 days monsoon will reach Goa and then coastal Karnataka and then to Goa and then
00:35again more parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu also will get covered in 2-3 days time.
00:44We have already predicted a below normal monsoon. Is there any change?
00:49No, it is because El Nino is strengthening and we are expecting a negative impact on our Indian summer monsoon.
01:00India, all India total as well as Kerala rain also will be negatively impacted by the presence of this El
01:07Nino.
01:09Models are predicting that it will continue, it is called a full flow El Nino if it continues for a
01:17particular period.
01:18So it is expected to have some impact till the end of the year. It will affect the ending of
01:24monsoon season.
01:25Shikha and what is the focus for Kerala for the coming days?
01:29Yeah, coming days we are expecting widespread rainfall for the coming 7 days and all these 7 days have rainfall
01:40alerts and up to 8th of June.
01:46Many districts will have orange alerts. In fact today, tomorrow, in fact the coming 4 days, 4th June, 5th June,
01:566th and 7th June, all 14 districts have alerts and most part of Kerala will be under orange warning.
02:06Yeah, because westerly winds are seen even up to around 6 km in vertical and the wind speed is also
02:19reasonably good.
02:21So we can expect some good amount of rainfall in the coming days and beyond that after 10th we can
02:28expect some reduction also.
