00:08Oh, oh, oh!
00:34This is the story of Cinderella, written by a Frenchman, Charles Perrault, over 200 years ago.
00:41It's the story of a girl mistreated by her cruel stepmother and stepsisters,
00:46who finds love and happiness with a little magical help from her fairy godmother.
00:55Once upon a time, there lived a young girl named Cinderella.
01:00She lived with her stepmother and her two stepsisters in a big old house on a fine old street.
01:08Today's lesson, soup. You may begin.
01:13Now, Cinderella's stepmother was a mean-spirited and bossy woman.
01:17Slow down, ladies. Slurp slower.
01:22While she doted on her own two daughters, trying to make them into something they weren't, and never would be,
01:29she kept Cinderella in rags and made her do all the work.
01:35Hi, everybody. What you doing?
01:37Well, I finished the mopping, the scrubbing, the washing, the cooking, and the dusting.
01:41I've made the beds, beat the rugs, polished the furniture, chopped the firewood, cut the grass.
01:45Oh, and re-shingled the roof.
01:47Huh. Is that all?
01:50Lazy girl.
01:51Now, go clean the chimney and the oven.
01:54Yes, stepmother.
01:57When Cinderella's work was done, she would sit quietly in her room with Pierre, her faithful one-eyed dog,
02:04and Maurice, her faithful frog.
02:08Ah.
02:10Cinderella!
02:12Coming, stepmother. Coming.
02:15Cinderella!
02:19Where is that girl?
02:21Cinderella!
02:23Oh, there you are.
02:27Your sisters have been invited to a ball.
02:30Everyone will be there.
02:32Except you, Cinderella.
02:35Because you wear red.
02:37And smell funny,
02:39Cinder-clyde.
02:41Cinder-clyde, Cinder-clyde.
02:43Who's gonna dance with Cinder-clyde?
02:47Yeah, Cinder-clyde.
02:50Now, be a good girl and help your stepsisters get ready for the ball.
02:56Yes, stepmother.
02:58So, Cinderella made new dresses and new bonnets.
03:03She styled their hair,
03:04polished their nails,
03:06and shined their shoes.
03:08Finally,
03:09the night of the ball arrived.
03:11Goodbye, stepmother. Goodbye, stepsisters. Enjoy the dance. Have a good time.
03:18Without me.
03:23I want to go. I want to go.
03:37Watch it, Buster.
03:43What's the trouble, Cinderella?
03:45Huh? Who said that?
03:49I did.
03:50Oh, my. Who are you?
03:53Why, your fairy godmother, of course.
03:56So, do you want to go to the prince's ball or not?
03:59The prince's ball? I can go to the prince's ball?
04:04Oh, yes. I do want to go. I do, I do, I do.
04:08Good, because there's no time to waste.
04:12It took only a few moments of magic for Cinderella's fairy godmother to turn a pumpkin into a fine coach.
04:19Wow.
04:20Six white mice into six white horses.
04:24Six lizards into six footmen.
04:27And Maurice and Pierre into coachmen.
04:30This is wonderful.
04:32But it's no use. I can't go to the ball dressed like this.
04:37Of course not, dear. There's nothing like being a princess.
04:43Oh, this must be a dream. Right down to my glass slippers.
04:50Oh, thank you, fairy godmother.
04:54Mwah!
04:56Yes, well, there's just one catch, dear.
04:59You must be home before the clock strikes twelve.
05:02If not, then poof!
05:05Everything! Pumpkin, mice, frog, dog.
05:10They all return to their original form.
05:14Understand?
05:15Yes, and I promise. Home before twelve.
05:20Arriving at the ball, Cinderella was met by the prince himself.
05:25Oh!
05:27Cinderella danced and dined and had a wonderful time.
05:32Oh, I'm sorry, your highness. I've had a wonderful time. But I really must be going.
05:40What? So soon, my love. We've only just met. Besides, it's only midnight.
05:47Midnight? Midnight? Oh, no!
05:50Kiss me, my darling.
05:59Home before twelve.
06:01Now, or else.
06:12Cinderella had a long walk home.
06:15The prince and the dance were now only a memory.
06:19And all that Cinderella had to remember them by was a single glass slipper.
06:24The other glass slipper was in the hands of the prince.
06:28Oh, such workmanship.
06:31Oh, glass is so fragile, so unique.
06:36I'll find this princess if I have to search the whole kingdom.
06:39And when I do, I shall marry her.
06:45And so, the search began.
06:49The prince tried the glass slipper on every foot in town.
06:53But it fit no one.
06:56Finally, the prince reached the home of Cinderella.
07:00He waited patiently as the twins tried on the glass slipper.
07:05Oh!
07:05Ladies! Ladies!
07:08Ladies!
07:09Hi, everybody!
07:11Whatcha doin'?
07:12Oops!
07:14Oh!
07:16Oh!
07:16Oh!
07:16The glass slipper!
07:18I've got it!
07:19I've got it!
07:20I've got it!
07:33I've got it!
07:36And so, the prince found his princess and his bride.
07:41Cinderella was as good as she was beautiful.
07:44She forgave her stepmother and her stepsisters for being so mean to her.
07:49Then, married her stepsisters to two gentlemen of the king's court.
07:54So everyone lived happily ever after.
08:10lovely, beautiful.
08:14Cheers.
08:16Cheers.
08:19Cheers.
08:20Cheers.
08:21Got it!
08:32Cheers.
08:33Cheers.
