The Tom Green Farm Season 1 Episode 2
Transcript
00:07Welcome to the Tom Green Farm, a place where the quiet of the countryside blends with all
00:12the noise of real life. Animals, friends, neighbors, and the occasional celebrity who
00:19wanders into the wilderness of my daily routine. Today we've got a full house. Priyanka is here,
00:25Canada's drag superstar, performer, icon, and just an incredible presence to have on
00:31the property. And Michael Cera drops by. Thoughtful, funny, and grounded in that very
00:38Michael Cera way. Taking a seat at one of the picnic tables outside, we have a great
00:42conversation. And towards the end of the episode, my yearling foal. The baby horse, Aria. She comes
00:51home after six months of weaning at my friend Amy Himmelman's farm. So come along for the
00:56ride. We'll wander through the kitchen, the barn, the pond, and the pasture, and take things
01:02as they come. Welcome to the Tom Green Farm.
01:10This is the Tom Green Farm. It's not the Green Tom Farm. This is my favorite farm, because it is
01:19my
01:19farm. If this was your farm, you'd probably like it more than I did. That's just because it was your
01:27farm. But it's not your farm, it's the Tom Green Farm. It's the Tom Green Farm.

04:04let's ride oh and sorry we almost just killed the chicken almost killed the chicken almost killed
04:10the chick are there any bears there's bears here yeah like on your property lots of bears yeah lots
04:14of bears yeah they will you know in the gay community a bear is a thing i did know that
04:18i did
04:19know that of course you do wow those are the guinea hens they eat the ticks yeah this is the
04:25pond that
04:26we stocked with trout which will uh we'll feed the trout after lunch big burly men are bears in the
04:33gay community i see okay daddies you're a daddy what's a daddy compared to a bear older gentleman okay in
04:39his 50s okay money rich okay this is so magical here's another field there's like seven fields
04:52like this jeez now what about pronouns you know everyone always talks about yeah he she what are
04:58your pronouns when i'm in drag everyone's she her yeah and so when you're not in drag and you're mark
05:04or you mark mark yeah to my close family or some of my friends who known me before i started
05:10the
05:11the whole the whole priyanka thing yeah yeah see this is all like this is all all woods and
05:15if you own all this is all your home yeah what i basically do a lot just when i'm home
05:21by myself
05:21is i'll take i'll take fanny out on a little ride by myself and just so quiet out there you
05:26know just go
05:26through the woods and just and just kind of chill back there my mom gave it to me because they
05:31didn't
05:31want us to get bullied in school okay so i have three brothers steve mike mark chris that sounded
05:37like kind of like tough name ah yeah oh don't mess with mark this is the beach and we're going
05:42to look
05:42at the beach yeah wow yeah it's like a postcard yeah you know it's a sandy beach here and you
05:51can swim
05:52here it's uh it's a lot of fun what's your background then is guyanese guyanese yeah okay so
05:57south american they didn't give you guyanese names then no my hindu name is avi nash what a
06:03great name yeah it's perfect there's something swimming there you know like some sort of a
06:09animal see it right over there this is how i go a muskrat or something like a beaver maybe uh
06:15-huh
06:15are there beavers here yeah it's beavers and might even be a snake no possible water snake yeah i hate
06:21snakes yeah no good thing it's 200 yards away we're going to be back down here after lunch so we're
06:26going to
06:26we're going to be on the boat it's going to be very peaceful and it'll be a nice time
06:42well would you look at this kitchen it really turned out great i don't want to say i've got egg
06:47on my face
06:48but i didn't want to redo the kitchen and now that we've redone the kitchen amanda has been making a
06:55lot
06:55of eggs and now i've got egg on my face but not just because i've actually got a lot of
07:00eggs on my
07:00face but also because i'm a little bit embarrassed because i didn't want to redo the kitchen and
07:04fortunately my mother and my then fiancee now wife convinced me that i should and boy it really turned
07:11out good i didn't think i would enjoy it so much so much so that we're probably going to do
07:15a lot of
07:16the interviews for this show in the kitchen now because i actually feel like it's something that looks
07:20nice for the show this is a studio now it's a it's a kitchen and it's a studio and we'll
07:26be doing
07:26interviews on this series throughout the property in different places in the barn in the loft of the
07:31barn and the gazebos we have various gazebos on the property if you like gazebos or if you just like
07:37to
07:37hear the word gazebos then this is a good show for you because we'll be saying the word gazebo a
07:42lot on this show
07:51hi ladies how are you hi hi how are you
07:59priyanka thank you for coming to the farm i like the farm when did you first start doing television
08:04when i was 16 i volunteered at a local tv station i just wanted to one day be on the
08:11screen that's
08:11you went to niagara call college yeah i did went yeah for broadcasting for film tv radio and then
08:17you have you could do either production or presentation on air i chose of course presentation
08:23yeah i have a lot to present we have similar background i went to algonquin college and
08:27studied uh television broadcasting whoa that's so we're the same person did you have family that's
08:32supportive of everything you're doing or yeah but when you're an entertainer family relationships are
08:37kind of weird sometimes yeah um but when i first did drag race i didn't tell my dad i was
08:43gay or
08:44drag queen so he had to find out with the masses when i was announced on canada's drag race wow
08:50that's
08:50how he found out he found out and i blame my mom but in a fun way she was like
08:56let's not tell your
08:56dad she's like i don't want it to be my problem so did you watch the show with your dad
09:01when it came on
09:02or no okay my dad just saw me perform in december for the first time okay and he's obsessed yeah
09:10he's
09:10like he's like oh i get it but you know when he got it is when he saw me in
09:14the sound check when i was
09:15like the tech person and saying oh turn this up and we're plugging in projectors and because you know
09:19drag is quite diy right um sometimes and he was like oh i understand it now which is really really
09:28really really cool so i think my family my family is it feels like it's so normal to them if
09:34i'm like
09:34oh i got a tv show picked up you're like yeah yeah yeah of course you did yeah and i'm
09:38like yes i love
09:40that you have that confidence in me but i'm very shocked but also i love that you support me so
09:46much
09:47yeah absolutely but this life is normal to them which is so cool but i was on drag race remember
09:52i
09:53remember i was a judge on there i do i remember when they announced who the special guest judges
09:58of the seasons the season was everybody was like what the hell is tom green doing there yeah they
10:03didn't uh thought thought that was kind of weird or they thought it was weird i thought it was awesome
10:08yeah you won right i did you won the whole thing i won the whole thing yes and it's it's
10:13it's wild
10:14is the drag community in toronto uh a big thing that's that's that's inclusive and vibrant and
10:21everyone's having fun or is there a competitiveness and how's that work it's very competitive going
10:26from television into drag was wild because i was like oh this is entertainment this is art i get
10:32to express i could turn myself into a brand like i could start shows i can like build this thing
10:36when
10:37i started drag i was like oh my god like i finally feel like i'm a part of something so
10:41it's like we're
10:42all people that are just searching for a very safe space to feel loved you know but then you
10:49introduce competitions and then you you know more people get bookings based on how good they
10:54are entertaining and it inherently becomes competitive first time you did that like what
10:58was the process of deciding to do that what how'd you think of the idea or you just sort of
11:03felt like
11:03you wanted to and was it as a performance or was it just sort of uh how did that work
11:08it was
11:09i had a birthday party and i booked a drag queen to perform at it and she asked all my
11:14friends
11:16hey who thinks that mark should do drag and i in my head i'm like i was hosting kids television
11:22at
11:22the time so i was like there's no way that i would ever do this plus i wasn't even interested
11:25in it
11:26like putting on a wig would be the most embarrassing thing to ever do are you joking and then
11:32when all my friends were like screaming and they're like oh my god this makes so much sense i
11:35was like maybe i'll try this thing and so the first time i ever did drag it was like a
11:39week later
11:42i got into full drag and did an open stage i like your music by the way i'm a musician
11:46myself
11:47you know i i made rap music when i was a teenager i got nominated for a juno yeah it's
11:52not about me
11:52but i just want that makes one of us it must be an interesting time to be doing drag doing
11:59music
12:01and doing video with social media is it like a completely different thing right i mean it's is it
12:07it's hard to not get infiltrated by the social media of it all because i want to just create like
12:12at the root of it i'm just like a nerd that likes to entertain people like all the videos and
12:17stuff
12:17like i come up with all the treatments and i edit all the videos myself like i'm a nerd i
12:21love it
12:21are you on your social media a lot do you read the comments is it a strange environment when you
12:27are
12:27doing drag and then going on online now with all the craziness going on in the world i used to
12:32love it
12:33and then my content started to reach it broke through like drag race fans and got to normal
12:42people and the normal people are not fun whatever is perceived as normal in this world they're no fun
12:48right like my people are normal y'all are crazy you know what i'm saying yeah um and the comments
12:53are just so that means you're considering that i'm a normal person then that makes me kind of feel
12:57yeah you're normal kind of good actually no one's ever called me dragulation called me normal before
13:01wow you did it you're white and normal i've honestly never been called normal before this is
13:07a breaking it's crazy yeah i mean like when any white man invites me to a farm i'm like that's
13:12the
13:12most normal white man thing to do that's pretty cool i'm proud of you
13:19so
14:07this is so romantic are you taking me on a cute date uh it wasn't
14:12exactly thinking of it like that but i mean just thought it'd be fun to go canoeing really
14:16broke back mountain kind of well it was more just like let's go canoeing and check it out
14:19you're taller when you stand up there like that yes which stand like that there i like that because
14:23you just feel like a man yeah so you've got a life jacket under your under your chair okay
14:29you don't need to put that on you're not going to be out too deep i got a wig on
14:32i'm fine step in
14:33the center of the boat because if you don't then the whole thing will tip over put your foot right
14:37in my foot in the center like this gang you're in you're in you're you know you're gonna do this
14:41yeah
14:41pop in just pop in there and i'm just gonna kind of push this out here like this yep hey
14:46charlie
14:47come on you come too what if it's over jump up jump up jump jump jump yes good girl
14:54oh god there we go oh my god there we go why does this feel so uncertain uh it's no
15:01it's fine
15:01everything's fine nice thing here and we're gonna this feels so wobbly shot yeah so stay keep centered
15:08for sure okay okay but you know if it tips we'll just have fun exactly i'll take my tits out
15:13yeah well
15:14you know and they'll be gonna be floating devices it's not it's not that kind of show critical that
15:20we do that but i mean oh my god we're gonna just turn around we're gonna go back and forth
15:23a few
15:23times charlie's having a nice time so if you grab your paddle there see how grab it like that like
15:30gangs just grab it like that at the top yeah and put your other hand on there and just paddle
15:36this way
15:37yeah yeah and we'll get some speed now now see ah okay i got it there we go oh my
15:43god wow look at
15:44the fish hey y'all ah there we go i'm canadian everyone absolutely this is what canadians do
15:54canadians wake up in the morning getting full drag and go canoeing absolutely we got a good rhythm
16:00going here that's because we're in love i got distracted i got distracted there we go so wait you
16:07you were are you going to play princess diana or you did that oh i just did you just did
16:14that i
16:14just got back from the uk i was in a musical in the west end called diana the musical wow
16:18five drag
16:19queens played princess diana and we all had these short blonde wigs on and we're all just singing as
16:23diana oh that's amazing it was so how did uh the uk audiences respond to that they actually loved it
16:29yeah
16:30was it in london or it was in london we did two weeks in london then a week in manchester
16:34getting pretty
16:35good at this i think you think so yeah i mean we're like moving so when you go back to
16:40toronto
16:42uh-huh are you there for a while you do you do shows regularly in town right now i'm in
16:48my off
16:48season yeah i'm planning for season two of drag brand save my life okay which is crazy to get a
16:54green
16:54light on a second season and hello congratulations thank you and then i'm also working on my album
17:01stuff yeah more music singing singing singing working with this vocal coach who's pulling out
17:07all my childhood trauma one vocal cord at a time i love writing music this is great i feel like
17:13i'm
17:14much stronger than i was yesterday honestly anyways do you help uh i think i'm okay i'm a pro now
17:20so
17:20that's good no that was amazing that was amazing thank you thank you for taking me out on the beautiful
17:26chimichanga lake so romantic super cool what are you gonna do we're gonna touch each other let's go
17:31come on this way come with me come on come with me
17:43so so that wait wait which one's the mule hello so it's actually this big one here is a big
17:50one in
17:50the middle is oh wow okay yeah that's sweet people think a mule and a donkey are the same thing
17:54i did two
17:55years ago but i didn't know they're they're not she's a mule is half horse half donkey and they can
18:00bite a little bit they won't bite a little bit well like don't put don't like i have zero tolerance
18:04for yeah yeah you know i've done there have been some productions i've worked on where i had a horse
18:09you know i was in a scene with a horse sometimes and they i felt that that like the animal
18:14wranglers
18:15were not taking enough pains to make sure that we were never behind the horse right yeah and there were
18:19some situations where the horse would just kind of rotate and i'll be right behind them and i was like
18:22this is not this is not cool yeah you got to be careful behind them they can kick you in
18:27the head
18:27and kill you you're done yeah which is exciting you know when you're riding the mule like you can tell
18:34she's sort of working with you like when you're riding through the woods and there's this you're
18:39going between trees and you can tell she's kind of like feeling your energy oh we're gonna go this
18:44way now we're gonna go this way now you're kind of working together on something a mule's more
18:49intuitive it will actually sense your opinions about it'll sense that you don't know what you're
18:53doing faster than a horse so if like it'll override you yeah exactly like if you when i first started
18:59riding fanny for six months like you know okay well i'm pulling my rein to the right and i'm pushing
19:04my foot and she's not listening well because she also sensed that i was nervous so she's like i'm not
19:07going in the woods with this guy this guy's a fucking idiot get your together and then we'll yeah
19:11oh thanks for coming but i'm just i just think so rad that you were able to make it out
19:14here you're making a movie right now in the area you're directing here that you wrote yeah
19:21and you're here for a while i'm here until december that is so great yeah it had a day
19:26off and you came out here yeah we're prepping you know yeah but we're like um it just happened very
19:31fast that we're making this movie in ottawa yeah it's not in any way set in ottawa yeah no for
19:36sure but
19:36uh and we were never quite sure where we were going to make it but everything we need is here
19:40is it sort of set in a rural setting or is it yeah it's it's set in like a small
19:45town you know
19:46like we were talking about driving across the states and like you know there's like towns that
19:50are everywhere like the kind of quaint ones they're like with like one main street you know yeah
19:55absolutely yeah it's like that we never say the name of the place so we never identify it or get
20:00specific hold your hand very flat oh jesus wait this is where we're gonna or you can just toss it
20:04on the
20:04grass over there yeah i'm gonna do that yeah just toss it over there even if there's a five percent
20:08chance of getting bitten yeah it'd be a drag it'll probably happen it'd be a drag if your hand got
20:12bit off i just don't i don't think i'll do it the right time because you're directing the movie and
20:17then you come over here for fun and you get your hand bitten off right that's just bad timing all
20:21around but it's got pamela anderson yeah and steve coogan that's amazing do you know steve coogan i met
20:26steve last year for the first time yeah i have like you know have loved him for years and pamela
20:32anderson both comedic uh superstars right and the naked gun now and hilarious and canadian as well
20:39canadian icon did you know her before this this no yeah no but you're like pam read the script and
20:45and really responded to it and um came on board you know she was the first person to come on
20:51and is
20:52this the first time you've directed a movie yeah that's that's incredible so it must be kind of
20:57is it in is it uh do you get nervous when you're directing seasoned actors or is it kind of
21:04fun or
21:04i mean you've been in this business for so long it's probably you're ready to direct a movie obviously
21:09right yeah you know i'm nervous i want it to be good yeah so you know but um i don't
21:17think i'm that
21:17nervous about directing them because i really i wrote it yeah and i really know what we're going
21:24toward and i know the characters really well yeah yeah we're gonna like rehearse in the next few
21:30weeks and kind of actually start getting into it but um yeah well you did it that's how was it
21:34for
21:35you don't do what i did well don't make freddie got fingered you know make a make a much better
21:42movie than that are you not proud of freddie got fingered i am now and yeah it took about 20
21:47years
21:47so to become sort of uh oh did it it didn't taste good like well you know what it's like
21:53uh it's like
21:54i was very proud of it when we made it and then when it came out there was some bad
21:58reviews a few
21:59bad reviews we got a couple good ones too though yeah and then uh and then that shoots you down
22:03that kind of hurt my feelings a little bit i can imagine yeah but uh it's like a punch in
22:08the face
22:08yeah a little bit like that yeah i am i am proud of the movie because it's lots of crazy
22:12shit happened in it and we we made a crazy thing happen i think it's weird that people uh
22:18have so much to say about movies you know like it's pretty vicious isn't it who cares i mean
22:22this is what i wanted to do why are you what's your problem there's something about
22:27watching someone get uh tar and feathered uh-huh yeah it's all very sick schadenfreude yeah yes
22:33there's also a great german word called fremsham like friend shame cringe yeah that's a much more
22:40sophisticated sounding way of saying cringe yeah cringe humor is a hilarious thing my favorite
22:45thing to watch these days is like i love police body cam footage of drunk people at the airport
22:50getting arrested it is so crazy how many similarities we have you love those we've been hanging out like
22:56you know today for a little bit is that your shit yeah like i was saying like i i love
23:00those i talk
23:01about it quite a bit about how like my favorite thing to do is wake up in the morning and
23:04watch
23:04karen's getting arrested and tased you know it's like i love the uncut police i love the 40 minute
23:10videos the arguing yes the lead up to it you know what my favorite my favorite expression right now
23:15is is i've done nothing wrong yeah because every single drunk person says that it's like it's like
23:21the mantra of drunk people they always say it a million times in the air but they go i've done
23:25nothing wrong yeah so yeah well we should start sharing some of these videos okay yeah i'll send them
23:29i'll send the good ones you want to take a walk around i'll have a look around let's do it
23:32yeah
23:33cool awesome no that's cool are you gonna push me into the pond now no no the final act of
23:39the
23:39episode look at the trout see wow touch it right there oh my god yeah see what the crazy right
23:47yeah
23:50yeah wow i love it's a rainbow trout right yay my rainbow gate trout here you go yeah mommy's here
23:58it's like i never i didn't even make that connection but yeah it's like they're pride
24:01they're gay fish yeah that's so beautiful absolutely an ally i didn't even realize that here you go
24:11wow oh yeah do you have your name them all no there's 260 of them so oh yeah yeah they
24:18aren't
24:18natural to the pond you just put them in here put them in yeah where do you buy trout to
24:21put in here
24:22a fish a fish hatchery trout farm yeah and then you're going to put them in here then
24:25they grow they grow like big and you're going to let them go and then you're going to eat them
24:30yeah there you go guys eat them up grow nice and fat i don't have the same personal connection with
24:36fish as i do with mammals for some reason well this has been great thank you so much brianka this
24:40is
24:40great all right i have actually done several drag uh bits myself on the old tom green show uh-huh
24:56i
24:56would be in a dress with a wig and i run down the street spray my fire extinguisher around in
25:03the air
25:03and stuff why was why oh just because i was being weird because that's drag yeah what did your uh
25:09fans from ytv sort of they were surprised when you you know grew up and became sort of priyanka
25:15i still am shocked that kids that used to watch me on the kids tv channel grew up and followed
25:21me
25:22here now like a lot of the meet and greets that i have at my shows is that's a lot
25:26of the storyline
25:27like we used to watch you on ytv and now we're here at your concerts and we're so proud of
25:31you
25:31do you think canadians are more accepting people of of different cultures and uh different you know
25:40sexual orientation and drag and sort of things like that or is there is is it is or is there
25:45still
25:46you know still prejudice here in canada too i guess but i think it's the same just canadians
25:50are quieter about it uh-huh because we just make americans the americans are crazy so they they're the
25:55loud mouthpieces and then it transfers over here so when you go to a small town on drag
25:59brunch saved my life uh-huh uh is that kind of to you go to a restaurant tell me about
26:06that show
26:06so we go to a restaurant and we're helping the restaurant just put some pizzazz into their
26:14business maybe they're struggling maybe they want to try a drag brunch for the first time maybe they
26:19just are having a good time or maybe they had a drag brunch that maybe failed like they didn't sell
26:23enough tickets or whatever so i get the call and they're like priyanka help us whoa this is incredible
26:30right this is significantly bigger than any space we've tackled so far wow i've never seen our space
26:35like this never i'm literally speechless welcome to drag brunch at the library bar and then we like
26:41transform you know the team and put everybody in nice costumes and pick a theme and have this big drag
26:47brunch at the end but leading up to that drag brunch you get to know the owners at the restaurant
26:54and you get to know the community a little bit more and you know the local queens and that's where
26:58you
26:58find out how homophobia takes a place in in those small so that's part of the show going to a
27:04small
27:04town where they're not maybe it's accustomed to seeing uh drag or there's been a drag brunch there
27:09and like we don't know why we're selling tickets and then you hear that there's like all kinds
27:11of protests and stuff around and that's why how are you amy good tom how are you today really good
27:20aria is doing really good well i'm glad to hear she must be growing yeah you brought aria back she
27:25was really big in the spring inside the kitchen amy himmelman joins me to talk about aria's time away
27:31her training her temperament the things she learned and the ways she's changed here comes aria oh my god
27:38this is exciting we give her quite a good feeding while she was at the farm and helped her grow
27:43and
27:43did some work with her while she was with us wow holy cow this is amazing hello how are you
27:53she's growing you're really going to notice the uh the difference in her it's been six months six
27:59months oh it's got to be that yes she's bigger she bigger now yes she's growing the other ladies here
28:04are we keeping them separated for a while just for an hour just for an hour okay for about an
28:09hour
28:09and they can just smell each other over the fence and they're going to be okay with her she should
28:13be fine with her yeah i mean it's it is her mom yeah and will it appear like it's a
28:17mother and a
28:18baby reuniting and will there be sort of a lot of emotion no no no they might talk
28:25is she excited to see her mom when she comes home from being away it's not so much her mother
28:31it's
28:31she's a herd animal yeah and that's what gets the excitement going does she recognize fanny and
28:37alora and i would say so yes 100 so she's home she's been away for six months she comes home
28:43she
28:43sees them she's like oh i remember this place i was here for six months i know these guys that's
28:48my mom yes they remember i fully believe that she knows alora is her mom yes and will always know
28:56that i think so even when they're much more older i think so yeah i'm a believer in it and
29:01alora knows
29:02that aria is her baby yes like she's one of these tough little girls in here he's like he's tough
29:07like
29:07a wild mustang oh yeah really oh yeah she's tough how would you say uh aria was as a as
29:14a fall she a good
29:15fall she was a good fall she was pushy but um yeah once she realized that uh we were in
29:22control she was
29:23fine how big is she now is she as big as her mom yet no no no by the end
29:26of the summer she might be
29:27that height when they're about three you're going to be riding her yeah two more years then two more
29:32years any other questions no let's i can't wait to see her this is your new adventure this is your
29:38work cut out for you for the summer oh yeah absolutely you're ready for it yeah no i can't
29:42believe it aria oh i see you right there i love her so much oh whoa look how big you
29:48are hi aria
29:50oh my gosh what's your face hi remember this place hi aria remember me hi welcome home
30:04we're gonna go see your friends okay remember this place hello mama i think she knows now that that's her
30:12baby coming back oh all worked out everybody's happy it all worked out it usually does
30:33what's the best oh look at that wow wow huh
30:56oh that's uh that's the guinea hens yeah oh what uh guinea hen a guinea hen it's like it's kind
31:00of
31:00like a chicken and a it's like a bird they're they're uh they live here they're eating the
31:06ticks and bugs and stuff yeah yeah yeah they're good well the guinea hens got them all they took
31:10care of them don't worry about the ticks if you get bit by tickets pull it off you know it's
31:13no
31:13problem that's why celebrities get lyme disease yeah no but if you pull it off right away i'm a
31:16celebrity i don't want one no no you pull it off right away just no problem just check yourself
31:19when you go you know home tonight or whatever just check for ticks and imagine if you remove it
31:24right away then then you can't get lyme disease if you get a tick and it bites you as long
31:28as you and
31:29it's in your embedded in your flesh right it's sort of burrowing into your flesh right yeah and then
31:34you see it right away then you like within 24 hours you remove it you don't even need to do
31:38an
31:38antibiotic okay when you make your music do you make is the music something you go into a studio and
31:43you
31:43make the music and the lyrics or did somebody make the music you write the lyrics and i write them
31:49too
31:49you make the beats too you make the music no but i have very that's kind of they're pretty cool
31:53i
31:53want to learn my next goal is to learn how to play piano yeah because i want to learn more
31:57about
31:58composition but i grew up in a family of djs my dad's a dj i remember when he brought home
32:02like
32:03my heart will go on on vinyl you know celine has this new song should we all listen to it
32:07so we all
32:08like sit there and listen to that at the time i was a child so it's like boring another slow
32:12song
32:14now it's i mean what an iconic song celine's like is she popular among the drag community
32:20oh yeah do you know one time i bought my mom and i had tickets to go see celine dion
32:24and she called me on the day of the concert and said hey so i was thinking that like you
32:31don't have
32:31to go i want to take your dad so i got uninvited to this concert okay i bought the ticket
32:37you invited
32:38her though that's what i'm talking about what's that all about parent she just took them yeah so
32:42you didn't just say like what the fuck growing up you print you don't talk back to your parents
32:45you don't talk to your mom like that when she's joking we're not white
32:50what's the worst thing you've ever said to your mom well i threw a decapitated cow's head in her bed
32:55once do you feel a sense of responsibility to you know you're representing your community do people
33:04must look up to you as a huge inspiration now i am so happy that i am somebody that people
33:12can look
33:12up to because i cannot believe it what a dream but what what a beautiful thing in life to be
33:18able to be
33:19fighting and breaking down barriers and having your ups and downs having your struggles for other people
33:24to be like you know what prion could do so i could do it do it too well this has
33:27been amazing look we're
33:28not done talking we're we're just gonna get get out of the barn now we'll hang out today i want

34:52world all over murals murals everywhere as far as spain and europe uh the states just got back from
34:59la do you have an idea for the top we're thinking like make it look like the sky with some
35:03clouds
35:03some trees we're up here we might as well bring the beautiful sky into it we got the tree line
35:07so
35:07throw some trees up there what do you think it should be a photo of me like
35:12i mean if that was center then maybe you know be in the focal point so you're ready to like
35:18just
35:18start right now yeah i'm ready to get going yeah nice wow oh that is nice when did you start
35:28painting i did my first oil painting when i was about nine or ten i think in my early twenties
35:34i

36:53me up for
36:54like obvious jokes that are going to get me in trouble or what no you got a hole amanda's sitting
36:58right there oh don't be ridiculous i mean you're obviously trying to do that tommy behave yourself
37:04well it's not very nice to amanda what you just did so you did you obviously oh come on
37:13pretty excited about my new tractor or should i say old tractor it's a 1964 international
37:20naturally priyanka wants to drive it have you ever driven a tractor before i haven't actually
37:25i just got this like recently does it require any kind of special licensing no you don't even
37:30need a license no way you don't even need a license to drive it okay everybody stand back
37:35it's from 1964 so is this the first time you started up uh i have started it before but there's
37:40a elaborate process of uh switches and sort of checks and balances it's a lot like an aircraft
37:46you don't have to mansplain i'm a man remember i wasn't trying to do that it was more like
37:50tractor-splaining right yeah but uh okay so let's see here
37:58nice nice pretty cool huh oh god
38:05and that's how tom green died
38:10that's kind of fun you just kind of just go like this and we'll that's a lot of fun just
38:17stop it like that there we go exactly there we go there we go it sounds like it's going to
38:25explode
38:25at any time it is going to explode and you're explaining the whole time but i didn't hear a
38:29thing i well i'll show you again it's in neutral now right so it's not automatic not automatic if you
38:36want to shift gears you have to stop uh-huh put the clutch down clutch my pearls and clutch your
38:42pearls and then shift it into a higher gear but we'll just i won't do that i won't do all
38:46that let's
38:47just go into first gear and we'll just go slow and i'll be fine we just it's just fun feeling

41:25runaway chicken oh my god like block work amazing
41:36nice time of day here magic hour or golden hour i guess it's great man when you're when
41:42you're making your movie are you sort of involved with the the scheduling of it and yeah the set
41:49designs and all the all of it work and everything i guess yeah yeah and i was saying you know
41:54like
41:54we're shooting in the fall here and uh so we're really like we're we're quite limited with daylight
41:59yeah yeah so we have to be very strategic and we have a 20 basically 23 days to make this
42:05movie
42:05anyway which is kind of fast yeah so we have to move and we're shooting on film
42:09yeah we're shooting 35 yeah oh nice yeah when you've been making movies and shows for so long
42:15do you kind of sort of is it sometimes frustrating you're going oh you're not doing it the way i
42:21would do it and then you you know you do feel that as an actor or at least some do
42:24i i definitely
42:25have but then i think i'll it'll be humbling to be actually doing the whole thing and be like oh
42:31it's kind of easy to be a um armchair quarterback were you prepared for the sort of explosive success
42:37of super bad when that happened was that a a exciting time in your life how old were you when
42:42you made that movie i was 18 yeah yeah and then 18 years old and all of a sudden yeah
42:47and then it
42:47was i mean honestly i didn't know it was going to be such a big movie i think but when
42:52it was about
42:53to come out i was getting a feeling that it was going to be a really big movie there was
42:56like a
42:56building off the 110 like a full building in downtown la with me and jonah on it yeah like
43:01a like a 20-story building we'd drive on the highway and like see us i think i didn't really
43:06quite realize somehow that it was going to be that big a release right yeah like that kind of studio
43:11muscle behind it yeah but it was great i mean i was definitely proud to be a part of it
43:15you know
43:15there was a lot that was like i remember screening the movie in santa monica and bob odenkirk was at
43:19the
43:19screening and i was like all i could focus on was bob yeah and i was like aware of when
43:24bob was
43:24laughing and stuff yeah so i was i felt good about the movie because you were a huge fan of
43:28mr show yeah so every night every friday when i was growing up it was the tom green show and
43:33mr show
43:33do you remember that block like it was mr show and the tom green show was like on the comedy
43:38network on fridays on the comedy network channel 44 yeah yeah because that was fridays so you would
43:43have been living in canada at the time yeah yeah yeah that was before the show was on mtv
43:46yeah i know it was like the roger it was your rogers show yeah yeah i remember i had an
43:50article
43:50in mclean's and it had both mr show and and the same article and i was like wow this is
43:56pretty cool
43:56yeah because you were a huge fan of comedy like you went to sctv like second city yeah right when
44:01you
44:01were young right when you were in i was like 10 doing the classes 10 okay yeah but i never
44:06performed
44:06okay i never i never got on stage but you went to second they had like weekend classes okay and
44:12they
44:12were so fun and honestly i have to say like uh like watching your stuff when i was a kid
44:18was um
44:19kind of um really formative as far as like i was you know just i kind of like feel like
44:27i got
44:27clued into um editing and tone yeah through your work early work like as a kid i remember being really
44:37like i like how this is edited yeah yeah i like the flow of it yeah yeah and obviously like
44:43the
44:44the thing that like you know the spectacle of what you're doing is the thing that draws you in
44:49but like but i remember really admiring also the way that you you know like crafted it
44:56is that early stage of video cameras and yeah getting access to equipment with no real
45:02guidance or formal training yeah yeah no i mean it's it's cool well it's it's pretty pretty awesome
45:08you uh i'm excited to uh i'm excited that you're here in the region doing this movie excited to have
45:17you here and that's great to see your life here to get to hang out a little bit it's it's
45:21pretty
45:21pretty awesome i was i just was thinking i had to go check on something okay um
45:27i'll wait here yeah i think that's well you know because when you showed up i forgot i might have
45:30left i might have left the oven on or something like that okay i'll wait here if you don't mind
45:36it's just i'll be like right back all right is that weird or i literally think i left you're stressed
45:42about yeah just give me one second okay i'll be right back just enjoy the fun set i'll be right
45:47back
45:47all right i want to burn the house down and finally what would this show with priyanka be
45:55without a seance candles quiet at dusk whether we connected with spirits or not i'm not sure
46:03but the moment felt right for the day thanks priyanka okay so i'm new to reading tarot decks and i
46:10thought that i could practice on you okay no that sounds fun yeah but apparently if i mess this up
46:15i
46:15can mess up your whole life or something but you have nothing important coming up so yeah i think
46:20i'll be fine getting married in two weeks but have you done this before ever yeah i do all the
46:25time
46:25so you do all my friends i love it and my boyfriend and i do it and you can are
46:28you sort of connecting
46:29with some spirits of some sort yeah the energy energy nice always energy and just guidance
46:35and if it's real great oh cheers just guidance and energy guidance and energy
46:42ah shit that's good okay is there a specific question you want to ask good shit oh i oh wow
46:48oh no it's the justice card okay don't hold it sure i'm gonna get my trusty book and tell you
46:56what it
46:56means because i know justice okay the scales of justice if justice represents a person in your
47:02reading it could be a libra amanda are you a libra no see i see i don't even know i
47:06didn't know and
47:07you're getting married yeah so that's a good thing it says this is great yes it's great okay

47:50growing yeah i'm investing in creating a wonderful life for my future self yeah that's what i just asked
47:57about that's fucking crazy right that is crazy now do you believe in the magic i don't really
48:01understand how that happened how did that happen i don't know you have a great marriage about to
48:05happen absolutely and the farm was the best decision you made for your life absolutely yeah

48:17you want to read it so can you read i can yeah strength is a much more subtle concept
48:23and strictly force or power covering traits such as compassion resilience courage wisdom
48:32only through hardship and challenge that this exercise occurs i want to feel strong and powerful
48:40that's real i do so how did that work explain how that worked again exactly i picked a card yeah

51:18i hadn't thought uh that
51:20but now that you mention it yeah that's
51:22i guess that's why it didn't work
51:25did it scare you for a second though
51:29when i first when i first noticed there was something there i definitely
51:32yeah my i kind of i was like
51:34there's a there's something there yeah
