00:02Take two, take one, beam up.
00:09My name is Charlie Cox and I wrote Nothing Feels Better.
00:13So my name is Brian D'Souza and I'm the music producer on Nothing Feels Better.
00:18I think the challenge in this day and age is trying to get people outdoors and moving
00:23and it's obviously really important for people's health, physically and also mentally.
00:27How do we get people who aren't feeling inspired to move to get up and do something really small?
00:34It can be a very simple 15 minute walk down the road.
00:38When I first started experiencing mental illness and you have those very kind friends who say,
00:46you should go for a run. It took me a long time to take that advice seriously.
00:52So we know that stress and anxiety are at all time highs.
00:56We also know that people are moving less and less.
01:01What if we could create a poem that was so powerful it could move the world?
01:07Ready?
01:08Okay, here we go.
01:14We wanted to capture the voices and capture the words and feelings of elite athletes, everyday athletes,
01:22people who right now wish they were more physically active and then share how moving makes them feel.
01:28I had all these incredible contributions from the Asics community.
01:34Some of the first words that came in were motivated, happy, blessed.
01:39I resonated with that.
01:43One of the first things that we started with was thinking about,
01:46well, okay, if this is really to inspire people to start running, then what pace do people run at?
01:50How that can be translated into a BPM of beats per minute?
01:56We were in the studio and we were literally recording me with my running shoes on,
02:00trying to work out exactly what pace that was.
02:02And we worked at about 127 beats per minute or steps per minute.
02:06And that gave us, you know, the tempo of the track that we can base the whole piece around.
02:15Starting off very minimalistic with the piano, just very simple.
02:18And then being able to like introduce other elements that help to amp up the energy,
02:23to evoke kind of positive emotions and to really bring them to the point where after three minutes,
02:27they want to get up and start moving.
02:28I am the crowd of my mind's elation, showing myself with every minute that what I never thought possible,
02:35even this morning.
02:37Happy?
02:37That's pretty powerful.
02:39Yeah, I feel good about that one.
02:43I really wanted those people that had given us such amazing inspiration,
02:48to see that they had built the best part of the track,
02:51which is that moment when you realize everything is possible.
02:56That really delicious moment where you're just like...
03:01The ultimate goal is that when people hear this track,
03:05they will be inspired to go out and move.
03:08Because we know that when they go out and move, they will feel better.
03:13If every day we feel a bit better, then society and the world will be a much better place.
03:18And do the same thing on that one in the next part.
03:19And do that.
03:19And if we think about the real Aww.
03:24And do that.
03:27After all.
03:27And the next part.
03:27We hope you enjoyed this.
03:28Bye.
03:29Bye.
03:30Bye.
