What is your favorite hot sauce and are you gonna eat that?
Transcript
00:00Bring in Kang here.
00:02I got a question for you.
00:04You know how every once in a while Gator puts something on a show sheet that he emails over in
00:07the morning?
00:08And we're more interested in why he asked the question than the actual question.
00:12Oh, yeah.
00:13Something triggered him.
00:14Yeah.
00:15Something jarred loose.
00:16Yeah.
00:16He'll send these questions like, why is he asking this?
00:20And that is what we're really interested in.
00:23So I'm going to ask you.
00:24We have one of those moments today.
00:26On your show sheet, you put, I don't know why.
00:30Which do you prefer?
00:31Frank's Red Hot, Cholula Hot Sauce, or Tabasco?
00:36And I'm sitting there in the office and I'm like, is it National Hot Sauce Day?
00:40Is it?
00:42What triggered this question?
00:46Well, we're getting this summertime.
00:47We look for different topics, different times of the year, right?
00:50Yeah.
00:51And as, you know, I do my prep work at my dining room table.
00:58And I have left on my dining room table a bottle of Cholula.
01:04It's just out there because, you know, typically in the morning.
01:07That's a permanent place?
01:08No, it shouldn't be.
01:09It just has been lately because if I have, like, I got these frozen breakfast burritos
01:13and, you know, if I have a breakfast burrito, it's right there.
01:17Of course I should put away it, but I'm not putting it away.
01:19So I haven't.
01:20So I'm staring at this bottle last night and I'm like, Cholula, what do you think?
01:29And because I've never been a fan of Tabasco ever.
01:33I've always thought Tabasco was bad.
01:35Like, I never liked the flavor of it.
01:37Really?
01:38And yet, is it terribly dissimilar from Frank's Red Hot or Cholula?
01:43And I really think it is.
01:45Yeah, I think they're different.
01:46I think they're very different.
01:47So I don't know.
01:48I just, it's just one of these, you know, kind of random questions.
01:51Okay.
01:51Almost like it's a big old tub of pretzels question of the day type thing.
01:55But Tabasco has a Chipotle flavor that I'm a huge fan of.
02:01It has a green label, but Cholula.
02:05You like the green Tabasco?
02:07No.
02:07It's not green.
02:08It has a green label.
02:10Okay, so they have a green Tabasco.
02:10And Chipotle, yes, they do.
02:12The Chipotle Tabasco, or the, yeah, the Chipotle Tabasco sauce, my favorite, probably my favorite
02:19hot sauce, although I haven't seen it in a while.
02:23But Cholula's, it's pretty damn good.
02:26I really like it.
02:26I'm not, I can't remember the last time we had Frank's Red Hot in the house.
02:29I like Frank's Red Hot.
02:30I mean, for me, it goes.
02:31So you were just sitting, just to be clear here.
02:33Yeah.
02:33You were sitting at your kitchen table with a bottle of hot sauce that you've left out
02:38for weeks, months.
02:40Nobody needs to know.
02:42You're just staring, you're just staring at the Mexican lady.
02:44Yeah, I mean, I was sitting there last night.
02:46There's a Mexican lady on there, right?
02:48In the hot sauce?
02:48Sure.
02:49Cholula?
02:49Yeah, she's, you know, she's smiling.
02:51Kind of.
02:52Kind of.
02:53No teeth.
02:54Just like a smirk?
02:55Well, it's just.
02:56I think it's hysterical.
02:57We've been on the air for two and a half hours.
02:59Kenny's out today and Bobby's been sitting there and all of a sudden Bobby leans forward
03:02and wants to be involved in the conversation.
03:04Gator, you are speaking my language.
03:05Not only the frozen burritos, but also leaving the hot sauce out for, it doesn't matter how
03:10I mean, it's there.
03:10It's condiment.
03:11You know, it's part, it's now it's become part of the table.
03:13I don't think it's, it has to be refrigerated.
03:16I bet it says refrigerate after opening.
03:18No, it does not.
03:19It doesn't.
03:19Are you sure?
03:20Are you sure it's not in Spanish?
03:21You just can't read it?
03:21Oh, pretty sure.
03:24It speaks to the authenticity of the hot sauce.
03:27What do you put your, you put your hot sauce in the fridge?
03:30Most of them say refrigerate after opening.
03:32This one does not.
03:33Sometimes I keep it in the pantry, but you do treat your dining room table like a diner.
03:37Like, do you have napkins in that little tin thing too?
03:40Like, you just show up to Gator's house.
03:43There may not be some napkins on the dining table right now.
03:46All the condiments are sitting right there.
03:47So you can just.
03:49My dining room table is different than yours.
03:50You guys have families.
03:51You got to keep it tidy, whatever.
03:53It's, you know, if I have people coming over, I will clean it up, but I don't.
03:58So it is what it is right now.
04:00All right.
04:01Well, there you go.
04:01So that's why you asked the question.
04:03Yeah.
04:03That was why I asked it.
04:04Well, we always come up with some kind of rando questions when we get into the summer.
04:09It's June 2nd.
04:11I just, you know, I'd already written to my sports topics, gotten them down.
04:14And then I, you know, you know how, how the thing works.
04:17Other stuff or stuff is what I label the extra stuff is.
04:20And this was one of the extra stuff questions.
04:21Okay.
04:22Yeah.
04:22I just, I wondered if there was a flashpoint moment that had you in a, had you in a, in
04:27a mental pretzel, like, which am I going to choose here?
04:31Yesterday morning, I had a breakfast burrito and I used the Cholula sauce on that.
04:35And then today I did not.
04:36Today I just had English muffins.
04:38So no Cholula, just, just butter on English muffin.
04:40But yeah.
04:42So for me, it's Cholula.
04:44Frank's red hot and a distant third is Tabasco.
04:47There's a Louisiana hot sauce is in there too.
04:50I like that.
04:51We're getting a lot of text.
04:53Tapatio.
04:53Yeah.
04:53That's up there.
04:54Yeah.
04:55We got a lot of texts on what?
04:56Just different hot sauces.
04:58Oh, God.
04:58Well.
04:59And you ask why I bring up these questions.
05:02The people want to speak on this.
05:04People have opinions.
05:05Why are you trying to stifle the opinions?
05:07I'm not at all.
05:09Okay.
05:09Anyway, if I was trying to stifle the pin, I do like many of your show topics.
05:13I would have just ignored it.
05:15It's just, these are, thank you.
05:17I brought it up.
05:18What about you?
05:18You got, you got a ranking?
05:20Uh, based on those three.
05:21Yeah.
05:22Uh, Frank's red hot Cholula and then Tabasco.
05:24That's amazing.
05:26Like our, our, cause to me it's Tabasco, Chipotle, Tabasco.
05:31Okay.
05:31See, but it's not, I'm talking about just original Tabasco.
05:33Yeah.
05:33Then it would be, then it would be Cholula, Tabasco and Frank's red hot, a distant third.
05:37You're a Frank's red hot guy.
05:38I like Frank's red hot.
05:40I'm going Cholula, Frank's, then Tabasco.
05:42All right.
05:44Have we settled anything?
05:46I think we all like Cholula.
05:49Kang doesn't.
05:49Yeah, he does.
05:50He's not the most.
05:51All right.
05:51Uh, it's a perfect segue into, are you going to eat that?
05:54All right.
05:59Can I throw Cholula on any of these items you think?
06:02Yes.
06:03Oh, now I'm really intrigued.
06:10All right.
06:10What do we got hot shot?
06:12I'm going to tell you the perfect item for Cholula is the last one.
06:16Okay.
06:17Keep that in mind as we get to the last one.
06:22Kang, you know what these items are.
06:24Can you suspect what the last one is?
06:25Yeah, I know exactly what the last one is.
06:27All right.
06:27We'll start with this.
06:28McDonald's.
06:29The Big Mac sauce.
06:31Big Mac sauce cups are rumored to be available soon.
06:35In 2023, the Big Mac sauce could be added to any McDonald's offer for a limited, as part
06:41of a limited time promotion, but Snack-O-Later has reported that McDonald's is considering
06:46a return of the sauce cups.
06:47The chain began testing the dipping sauce at a few Chicago locations.
06:50The chain will include individual cups of Big Mac sauce as part of its upcoming FIFA
06:55World Cup meal, which reportedly launches on June 9th.
06:59McDonald's, Big Mac sauce cups.
07:02Are you going to eat that?
07:03So like buy that in addition, let's say we get the two cheeseburger meal deal and I
07:07get a side of the Big Mac sauce.
07:08Is that what you're saying?
07:09Yes.
07:09Yes.
07:10I love the Big Mac sauce.
07:12I think you can get it just all by itself.
07:14Like if you want to take it home, a Big Mac cup.
07:16Yeah, no, that sounds great.
07:17I would use that for just sandwiches because it's like a Russian dressing type thing, right?
07:22Or Thousand Island.
07:23And I love both of those.
07:25Kang, you?
07:26Oh, yeah, man.
07:26I'm a big fan of that sauce.
07:28I wonder how much like it would cost extra.
07:30You know how some places like it's extra for extra sauce?
07:32Yeah, it is definitely.
07:33It sounds like they're selling it.
07:34Yeah.
07:35I'm intrigued by this.
07:37I start thinking about dressing up a turkey burger.
07:40I think this might work.
07:41So I think I might give that a shot.
07:44Wow.
07:45Wow.
07:45All three of us.
07:46I know that doesn't happen often.
07:48Wicked Cuts and Cinnabon team up for a series of savory bakery inspired meats meat snacks.
07:56Wicked Cuts, which I guess Cuts, which does jerky, has gotten together with Cinnabon, internationally known for their cinnamon buns.
08:07They're collaborating on authentic Cinnabon cinnamon bun flavored protein pack bacon jerky made with Cinnabon's original cinnamon for a genuine
08:19savory meaty taste.
08:22So Cinnabon flavored bacon jerky.
08:25Gator, are you going to eat that?
08:28I'm not a big jerky fan.
08:30And you're not a big bacon fan.
08:32I'm not a big bacon's fine.
08:34And bacon jerky sounds really strange.
08:36But Cinnabon.
08:37Yeah.
08:38I mean, I love cinnamon and Cinnabon's are great, although I can't tell you the last time I had one.
08:44I probably, I mean, would I try?
08:46I'd want a bite of it.
08:47I'd want to try it.
08:48I just don't think it'd be something I'd want to continue to have.
08:52Caring you.
08:53That sounds delicious, man.
08:55Bacon, Cinnabon.
08:56It's like a maple, like a maple bacon.
08:57You know what I mean?
08:58Yeah, and I do like a maple bacon.
08:59Yeah, come on.
08:59Just a little crispier because it's jerky.
09:01That's all.
09:02Or a lot crispier.
09:04I think I'm going to pass on the bacon.
09:06Next up, Whole Foods.
09:08This is from the list of best new products at Whole Foods.
09:11The 365 brand has come out with a new pickled flavored dressing.
09:16It doubles as a dip for everything from chips to salad to chicken fingers.
09:22But it is a pickled flavored salad dressing.
09:27Gator, are you going to eat that?
09:29Yeah, I would try that.
09:30I envision this to be like a dill dipping sauce of some kind.
09:38So to dip vegetables in it or potato chips, yeah, I think so.
09:43Gator's a yes.
09:43Can you?
09:44I'm out.
09:44I don't like pickle stuff.
09:46Yeah, so.
09:47I'm out too.
09:47It doesn't appeal to me.
09:49Another one here.
09:50Best new products from Whole Foods.
09:52Barris is the company brand name.
09:55Pistachio and white chocolate covered raspberries.
09:58These are in the freezer aisle.
10:00It's a combination of a raspberry with white chocolate on the outside with a pistachio stuffed in the middle.
10:10One frequent shopper described them as the most incredible combo of bright tart fruit and rich nutty sweetness in every
10:16single bite.
10:17It looks like they come in little cups with like 15 in them or whatever, but they're in the freezer
10:21aisle.
10:21So the pistachio and white chocolate covered raspberries at Whole Foods.
10:25Gator, are you going to eat that?
10:26I think I eat the hell out of that.
10:27That sounds delicious.
10:29If you had the raspberry, I don't know if they're white chocolate or not, but the raspberry cashews, they come
10:38in a small bag.
10:39They're really expensive, but I've gotten them a couple.
10:41They're amazing.
10:42They're so good.
10:43I never have.
10:44Um, yeah, so I would absolutely demolish this because pistachios are great.
10:49It's a really tasty nut and you're going to add the raspberry and add a little white chocolate to it.
10:55Yeah.
10:55Uh, okay.
10:57Can you?
10:58Yeah, I'm trying.
10:58This sounds good.
10:59I'm surprised at how like pistachio can make a lot of desserts actually really good.
11:04Like that involved pistachio.
11:06So I'm in.
11:07Well, let me tell you, this sounds amazing to me.
11:10I have a weakness for white chocolate plus pistachios are great.
11:16Put them inside a fruit.
11:18That's right up my alley.
11:19So yeah, I might get to eat that today.
11:22Yeah.
11:22They're the, uh, the ones I was talking about, they're a company called Sahale, S-A-H-A-L-E.
11:27They're cashews with pomegranate, vanilla cashews.
11:30They have so good.
11:32Sounds decent.
11:33Finally, here's the last one.
11:34For $12.99, you can get a three 100 count packages of the latest from Dude Wipes called
11:44Poopsicle, Ice Pop Scented Extra Large Flush Wipes.
11:50Gator?
11:51I'm sorry.
11:52What?
11:52They have a picture.
11:54The Dude Wipes are Popsicle Scented.
12:00So Gator, the Dude Wipes, Popsicle Scented Dude Wipes, are you going to use those?
12:05Are you going to wipe those?
12:07I mean, are you?
12:12I've used Dude Wipes.
12:14And?
12:15Would you use the Cool Mint Dude Wipes?
12:17Oh, you're a Cool Mint guy.
12:18This is a Poopsicle, is what they're called.
12:20It says Poopsicle.
12:21I mean...
12:22It's like the Bomb Pop, right?
12:23I don't think so, necessarily.
12:25Like I said, Dude Wipes are fine, but I don't know if I...
12:27After you drop some bombs, use a Bomb Pop, you know, wipe.
12:30It kind of has that Bomb Pop look to it.
12:32The red, white, and blue, it has a Bomb Pop look to it.
12:35I don't know.
12:36Sure.
12:37Would I try it?
12:37Why not?
12:38I don't care.
12:39I don't know.
12:39If it cleans up your business, who cares?
12:42I'm not sure what sound effect to use.
12:43It's not at all.
12:45Oh, I think you know what sound effect to use.
12:49Oh, no.
12:50Just to remind people, the other sound effect is...
12:53Yeah.
12:55I don't know.
12:56Keg, you?
12:57I'm good with just non-scented.
13:00Non-scented is fine for me.
13:01Me too.
13:02I'll pass.
13:02But let's go back to our original question.
13:05When you asked, could I put hot sauce on any of these?
13:07And I said, only the last one.
13:09No.
13:11You might need these after the hot sauce.
13:13Yeah, exactly.
13:14I mean, have them ready.
13:20That concludes another edition of Are You Gonna Eat That?
13:25Carson Anderson, 97-1.
13:27I said, you know, I've got the hot sauce on the top.
13:27I said, yeah.
13:27I said, I'm good with some people.
13:27I said, you know, how you've got to have a hot sauce on the top.
