Getting the rights to a pop star's music is one thing, but getting a review is another! In this video, Marc Maron shares the story of securing permission from Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff to use a track in his comedy special. Watch him laugh about covering the song live and still waiting to hear what she thought of it.

00:00We had to get rights to it, right? And I interviewed Jack Antonoff, who co-wrote that song.
00:05So I reached out to him first, because we were running out of money, you know, for the special.
00:12I texted Jack, and I was like, hey man, I just want to use part of New Than The Whole
00:16Sky,
00:17and I just want to know if maybe there's any way that you can help me out with that.
00:22And Jack said, no, you should go through the regular channels, and we'll see how that goes.
00:30So I don't really know. No, he's all right.
00:33The thing was, is that I think in order for me to use the Taylor Swift song, she had to
00:37okay it.
00:38So I don't know that she watched the special. I certainly, you know, put it out there.
00:43And then I covered the song live. I sang it.
00:46Oh, nice.
00:46I sang that song, and I sung it twice, and I put that out there.
00:49But still, you know, nothing from her.
00:51I am sure that she has a paralyzing crush on you.
00:56Definitely.
00:57I promise you she does.
00:58But she's with the football guy.
01:00Just because you're on a diet doesn't mean you can't look at the menu.
01:04Okay. I'll live. I can take that.
01:09I love her, too.
