00:00Il cambiamento climatico influisce sulla qualità di vita dei pazienti affetti da patologie respiratorie,
00:04non soltanto in termini di salute fisica, ma anche di benessere generale.
00:08È quanto emerge dal nuovo report pubblicato dall'Economist Impact,
00:11supportato da Chiesi, sugli effetti negativi di una scarsa qualità dell'aria.
00:15Il legame è molto forte tra crisi sanitaria e crisi ambientale.
00:21Considerando che l'Organizzazione Mondiale della Sanità ha già incrementato l'allarme
00:28sul fatto che arrivati al 2050 avremo molte vite perse legate ai cambiamenti climatici.
00:36E questo si riflette un po' su tutta la sanità, quindi non soltanto sui pazienti e sulle comunità di pazienti,
00:42ma anche sul sistema proprio sanitario come a 360 gradi.
00:46E quindi per noi è molto importante anche gli insights che arrivano,
00:50cioè gli input che arrivano dal report dell'Economist Impact,
00:54proprio perché sollevano l'importanza della prospettiva dei pazienti
00:58sul impatto dei cambiamenti climatici e anche dei fattori climatici,
01:03come per esempio le ondate di calore oppure l'aumento dei pollini e della stagione dei pollini
01:09come impatto sulla salute, che va un po' al di là anche dei sintomi di per sé del paziente,
01:16ma che comprende anche la loro possibilità di fare attività, per esempio fuori,
01:23di fare esercizio fisico, quindi può avere un impatto a 360 gradi,
01:28che va oltre l'impatto sulla salute fisica, ma che può anche riguardare la salute mentale.
01:34I think we've found that there's a high level of report of issues for people with lung conditions,
01:40so they're reporting that their air quality is getting worse for them,
01:43and that's very significant reporting that air quality is getting worse along the last five years,
01:48when we consider that worsening air quality means they're having worse times with their conditions,
01:53very high reports of people having issues when they exercise outdoors,
01:56and as a result they're avoiding it, issues in their air quality in their workplace, in their home,
02:02so it's really significant that it's a multi-sectorial kind of issue and problem
02:07that all these different settings are having poor air quality.
02:10I think it's really significant the inequalities that people are facing
02:15if they have vulnerable groups who are unable to exercise outside
02:19or have to weigh up the benefits of getting the exercise versus exacerbating their lung condition,
02:24and they need to avoid exercise, and as a result of that they're missing out on a lot of health
02:28benefits as well,
02:29so it puts them at a real disadvantage.
02:31So I think a real priority needs to be making them able to live their life to the fullest.
02:36But our research suggests we need to align national policies and EU-level policies with WHO standard.
02:44The current levels that we're exposed to nationally, they're below national guidelines,
02:49but they're above the WHO levels, meaning that an awful percentage of the population
02:53are exposed to unhealthy air that's going to have negative health consequences.
02:56That means cardiovascular conditions, respiratory conditions, there's a range of diseases,
03:01so there's a lot of issues that are developing.
03:04They need to have targeted policies, so they need to first bring in guidelines
03:08that ensures that people are breathing safe and healthy air,
03:11but they also need to have targeted policies for different settings
03:15to ensure that air quality standards are met, that are going to be optimum for people's health.

03:49noi ci impegniamo in maniera molto trasparente in un impegno di valore,
03:54di creazione di valore anche nei confronti dei pazienti e delle loro comunità,
03:59quindi dei caregivers anche, delle nostre comunità e poi dell'ambiente chiaramente
04:05e questo va anche proprio al di là considerando tutti gli stakeholders con cui interagiamo.
04:11Per cui a questo riguardo Chiesi ha messo degli obiettivi molto ambiziosi e molto chiari.
