00:00The most shocking result of any of the first 60 games of the season, no question for me, is Detroit.
00:06I did not see them being one of the worst teams in all of baseball, if not the worst team
00:11in the American League.
00:12I believe 16 games under .500.
00:14Their season is over in June.
00:16Tonight they play the Rays.
00:17The Rays are minus 150.
00:19They have Griffin Jacks, a converted reliever, starting.
00:21He's done a nice job for them.
00:23The total is eight.
00:24Why?
00:24Because Detroit can't score.
00:26And I don't know that Madden is going to be able to pitch his way through this.
00:29But certainly the idea here is that the Rays are, at least for the time being, not playing their very
00:34best baseball at the moment.
00:37Like you said, Detroit hasn't looked good all year.
00:40If you told me two months ago we'd be fueling Scooble trade offers in early June here, I would have
00:47called you crazy.
00:48I don't know exactly what's wrong with Detroit other than everything seems broken right now.
00:53Tampa Bay, I think they're a sneaky AL champion kind of lurking here.
00:58The way they approach the game, and I think you see it tonight, it's just contact, put the ball in
01:02play, put pressure on the opponent.
01:04Which may or may not work as you, you know, ramp up in the level of competition.
01:08But against the Detroit team that's struggling, yeah, give me Detroit, or give me Tampa Bay, I'm sorry.
01:12I'll take the home team in the first five innings here.
01:14You get a decent price to do so and fade a Detroit team that's, you know, falling faster than we
01:19can handicap.
01:20Take care.
