00:07What do you think the role of Italy could be? What could Italy do?
00:11Look, you know, Italy is a very important country within the European Union.
00:15Italy is a country that hosted, you know, G20, and that really happened with the recognition of the role that,
00:25you know, Italy could really play.
00:26Italy, we came, you know, because we felt that, you know, Rome was the center of world gravity at that
00:32particular moment.
00:33And so it was very important to launch the Palestinian initiative, drawing the attention to the plight of the Palestinians.
00:44And to tell the world that, you know, Palestine and the Palestinian people cannot wait forever until the world realizes
00:52that, you know,
00:53they have to intervene in order really to put an end to the Palestinian suffering.
00:57And so we came and we initiated such a campaign in Rome in order really just, you know, to spread
01:04then, you know, the world around.
01:07We met with His Excellency the President, you know, the Prime Minister, and we felt that, you know, our message
01:15was well received by the Italian authorities.
01:20And after that, you know, we continued.
01:23We met with the Pope in the Holy See, and we gave him exactly a letter where we asked the
01:32Pope to intervene and to help, you know, the Palestinian people to get their self-determination,
01:40their freedom, and their independence, and to get rid of the occupation.
01:42And since then, you know, we have been sending special emissaries, special invoice to different capitals around the world to
01:52deliver the same letter,
01:55drawing the attention of the whole world about the plight of the Palestinians and asking for immediate intervention to stop
02:02the suffering of the Palestinian people
02:04and to call for the resumption of negotiations that will end the occupation and allow the establishment of an independent
02:11Palestinian state alongside the state of Israel.
