00:50Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano and Interior Secretary John Vic Remulia clash over the execution of an arrest warrant for
00:57Senator Jinggoy Estrada at the Senate Monday, June 1.
01:00Before Estrada surrendered to the PNPC-IDG in the Senate, Cayetano insists no one should be arrested inside Senate premises.
01:07He cites the separation between the executive and legislative branches of the government.
01:13But Remulia says that privilege was lost when Senator Bato de la Rosa escaped while under Senate protection.
01:19Ang sabi ko sa kanya, Sir, I'm sorry, you lost that privilege when Bato escaped.
01:27Okay, that's...
01:28So, ano yung sabihin?
01:29Awalan na?
01:30So, yes.
01:30Ito yung honor yung ganong separation?
01:33We will inform them, we will give them the courtesy, but if there is an arrest to be made, we
01:38will make the arrest.
01:39Only members of the Senate minority are present at the session hall for the plenary session Monday.
01:44Before going to Camp Crame for his surrender, Senator Jinggoy Estrada is accompanied by Cayetano and Majority Senators Aimee Marcos,
01:51Rodante Marcoleta, and Camille Villar.
01:55Senator Jinggoy Estrada is detained at the New Quezon City Jail in Payetas past 8pm, Monday, June 1.
02:02He earlier surrendered to Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group personnel at the Senate for plunder and graft
02:08cases linked to the flood control scandal.
02:10I will not seek Senate custody.
02:32During a press conference before he went to Camp Crame, Estrada also says he instructed the Senate Secretary to put

02:57temporary liberty by posting a 90,000 peso bail.
03:03Vietnam cancels the scheduled visit of Vietnamese President Tho Lam to the Senate and his meeting with Senate President Alan
03:09Peter Cayetano on Monday, June 1.
03:11The Senate's Office of Internal Relations and Protocol says the Vietnamese government canceled the Senate events.
03:17The Monday plenary session was moved to 5 p.m. from the usual 3 p.m. schedule in anticipation of
03:22Lam's visit.
03:23No official reason was provided but the supposed visit coincided with the arrival of PNPCIDG personnel who served the arrest
03:30warrant for Senator Jinggoy Estrada.
03:32Lam arrived in Manila on Sunday, May 31 for a state visit.
03:36He was in Malacanang early Monday for a bilateral meeting with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and a state luncheon in
03:42honor of the Vietnamese leader.
03:43Lam's visit marks the 50th year of Vietnam's diplomatic relations with the Philippines and is expected to advance trade, security,
03:51and maritime cooperation between the two countries.
03:55China's Coast Guard conducts law enforcement patrols in Taiwan's eastern waters.
04:00This is seen as a response to Japan and the Philippines' plans for maritime border delimitation talks which overlap with
04:06areas China claims.
04:07The two countries said last week they would begin these formal talks in accordance with international law.
04:12But China's foreign ministry said Friday, May 29, the area covers waters east of Taiwan which Beijing views as its
04:19territory.
04:20China's Coast Guard says a flotilla had carried out the patrol in accordance with the law to the east of
04:25Taiwan, though it did not specify where exactly.
04:28It says,
04:29We urge Japan and the Philippines to immediately seize all illegal actions that infringe upon China's sovereign rights and interests.
