00:00Joining us now is Bloomberg's Hannah Miller. Hannah, it's amazing that he's so confident,
00:05given the fact it was only at the end of last week that they announced that they were pausing
00:09this deal, what, until June of next year or until some of these court cases are settled.
00:13Yeah, there's a lot of uncertainty here, but there is high likelihood that this is going to be very
00:18expensive for Paramount and the Ellison family. So very expensive. Which direction does it look
00:24like they're headed if it is, again, this pause and we're waiting for these court cases?
00:27Well, we know that they're going to have to pay ticking fees to shareholders if the deal does
00:32not close by the end of September. So this trial could definitely throw a wrench in that.
00:37I mean, this seems more common to have more states really interfering with this.
00:41Was it a surprise when the judge ultimately paused this? Or is it not a surprise that we are seeing
00:47these states come in and really trying to challenge these deals? Because we had had some challenges
00:51from the Europeans and it seems like we might have gotten past those hurdles.
00:54Yeah, we have to remember in the U.S., the DOJ had already blessed this deal.
00:57So it was a bit of a surprise when there's this holdup now with the states.
01:02But really, since this deal was announced, there's been concerns in Hollywood that, you
01:08know, this will hurt cable and television distribution.
01:10Yeah, it hurts them. And again, is that why we mostly see the cases like concentrated in
01:15California, for example?
01:16Yes. Hollywood is talking about this deal and it's no surprise that California stepped up.
01:37Our country is in the US and it also went through this deal. It's the 거는 of Lip of the
01:38Television's and Terrorism. So I think that's true.
01:38And I say that's a good example of this deal.
01:39But there wasn't some people playing here to this deal with the students.
01:39And I tend to have a little bit of a discount between them.
01:42And I think that most people preoccupied, I know, I know, coming up, if you know
01:47Whenever they can come to America, when music will come up with us, there's not really
01:47nor do that, yes, you know, look around, they don't use each other goal.
