00:09Leo come back. What's up AD? It's your girl Kiki Palmer and this is Leo and welcome to my house.
00:15Come on in.
00:30AD, what are you doing in the Stanley Cup cabinet? Yeah, that's right. This is where we keep all of
00:36our Stanley Cups. We are a water drinking family. We got this kind of cup. We got this kind of
00:43cup. I've been drinking out of this kind of cup today. Even Leo has some Stanley Cups. Anyhow, let me
00:52show you guys the rest of the kitchen.
00:55Leo's climbing. I always loved this setup from the moment that I saw this house. It was the bones of
01:01this house that I love so much. It makes me feel like I'm on an episode of I Love Lucy,
01:05okay? It felt like a diner or something. You know what I mean? Like the whole booth element. I really
01:09do love that kind of style and the windows and the drapery. Anybody that knows me knows that I love
01:15old school sitcoms. Like the classic multicam sitcoms.
01:19So I think that even my house, it feels like, how the hell did you get up there by yourself?
01:25Dang, you're good. That's crazy. You climbed?
01:31I ate me a cereal.
01:34He's getting so big. It is so hard to know how he's able to do all this stuff. Baby saving
01:40this house is like a constant thing that I'm always doing. It's his cereal at this point. Nobody else is
01:46going to be able to eat that.
01:47Anyway, I love multicam sitcoms so much that I think that that's what attracted me to this house is that
01:52it felt like a multicam sitcom house from this dining area to the way that the windows are.
01:58And so I always have little versions of things that remind me of those classic shows. Like, no, you don't
02:03need to eat this one. You can get a new one. Like this Smeg toaster oven.
02:07You know, it feels very classic. It feels very old school. I also have a lot of different Tupperware that
02:14reminds you of those old school, like sitcoms.
02:19Eventually, we'll make our way to Leo's room, but we'll also keep seeing him throughout. He's always just going to
02:23pop in and out because he is very bossy.
02:27I absolutely love snacks. I also am the kind of person that I try to always overdo it with the
02:33organizing. Let me show you.
02:35Now, it's not going to be extraordinarily impressive, but I have everything like labeled. We have a lot of kids
02:41in the house.
02:42I have my son who's three years old. I have my nieces and my nephew. Somebody ate all of my
02:48rice chips and they all try to act like they don't like gluten-free food.
02:53Yes, you do. Yes, you do. Because every gluten-free item I put into this house somehow end up missing.
03:01They try to lie in here. They try to say, I don't want your healthy snacks. I don't want you.
03:03But they're gone.
03:06And I didn't eat them. Over here, it's the same stuff for his. I got into a really bad way.
03:11I couldn't stop going on Amazon, getting these little bento box of things for Leo's lunches.
03:16I don't know why I was overdoing it like that, but I really love the idea of him just having
03:20his stuff all worked out.
03:21I've watched too many Instagram photos of these moms going in on the baby's lunches.
03:26I mean, I've seen one person making their baby snack and they had caviar in it and lobster.
03:30And I was like, oh, damn. I can't keep up.
03:33This is where we cook the food, but I'm going to show you where we eat the food in the
03:37dining room.
03:40So, I absolutely love this area.
03:44This is where me and the family eat, hang out, talk.
03:49The wallpaper was such a big deal for this room because I felt like it was, again, an ode to
03:53traditionalism.
03:54It kind of reminds me of my grandma's house growing up.
04:01Leo loves hiding here in this spot and doing what he just did.
04:06I didn't really give him the reaction I usually do where I'm like, oh my gosh, Leo, you know?
04:11But this is kind of a thing that he likes to do.
04:13And then over here in this area, we have this big picture of my parents.
04:17I have a picture of Leo up here when he was little.
04:19I even have a picture that my niece drew, my eldest niece, Allie.
04:23She points to the picture and she says, that's Leo.
04:25And then this is the Just Kiki doll.
04:27This comes from the Just Kiki album.
04:29And so this doll is very representative of the evolution of this conversation that I've been having in my art
04:34since I started as a kid.
04:35Well, that's where that picture is at.
04:38Damn, they done hid that picture.
04:39So, it's a picture of Leo's dad is up in here.
04:43It usually was sitting on the mantle.
04:44I don't know why they done put him away, child.
04:46But it usually sits up here as well.
04:50So, just so Leo can see everybody in his family, right?
04:54Who's that?
04:56Who?
05:02Then over here, it's the same thing.
05:04Also, my mom did this.
05:06I need to talk about this.
05:07She does this to me in my own house.
05:10Why the hell did she do this?
05:11And it makes me seem like I'm obsessed with myself, but it's her.
05:14She's obsessed with me.
05:15It's not even a professional photo.
05:18It's a selfie that she liked, that she had blown up and framed.
05:21I just always loved your hair like that.
05:24And I told you since you was a little girl, your natural hair was beautiful.
05:27That's got to be in the house.
05:28But it should be in your house, mom.
05:37Okay, guys, this is the living room, and it's pretty much the center of the house.
05:41So, these chairs are very comfortable.
05:44I spend time in this room a few times a day, honestly.
05:48Like, this is like an area that my mom and I will have an impromptu meeting.
05:51Like, something about it feels like a very casual boardroom.
05:55This chair is very comfortable.
05:56This one doesn't look like it is, but baby, it is.
05:59I get my makeup and hair done in this chair.
06:01I have a drink in this chair.
06:03I talk shit in this chair.
06:04I like this chair.
06:06Then over here, this is like, this is just such an underrated.
06:11And actually, I'm lying.
06:12It's not really underrated.
06:13I've had a lot of people pass out at the parties up on this thing right here.
06:16I've caught, you know, the kids looking out the window, just chilling, playing, throwing the pillows.
06:22For me, growing up in the Midwest, this is like, to me, the Midwest energy.
06:27And so, we have a different pattern here, and we have a different pattern here with the drapes.
06:31But the colors and the fabrics, although they tell a different story, they're all a part of the same whole.
06:37Another thing I do like about this that I just mentioned are the drapes, right?
06:41Because it's like, ugh.
06:46And now you're just in your own world.
06:48You know what I mean?
06:49And then, like, again, we have a sitting area.
06:51And I know that this seems like it's just about the look and the vibe, but it also, it's very
06:57comfortable.
06:58It's a comfortable couch.
07:00Same thing with this couch over here.
07:01Now, I'll tell you a story about this couch over here.
07:04It used to be in my bedroom before I moved my reformer into my bedroom.
07:09It's a little bit firmer, but very comfortable.
07:12The material, I remember when the interior designer told me about getting this couch.
07:16It was a very expensive couch.
07:17And they were like, are you sure you want it?
07:18Because it's, like, vintage.
07:19And I was like, let's get the fucking couch.
07:22You only live once.
07:23That's the model.
07:24YOLO.
07:24No, I'm kidding.
07:28A record player is underneath here, but my parents forced me to put my awards on top.
07:33A lot of my awards are actually at their house, but they want them to be at my house.
07:36I know that I've accomplished things and it's nice to have, but it sometimes just feels
07:41like a random shrine of accolades.
07:44This is a very popular place for the Palmer family.
07:47We got wine.
07:48We've got the regular liqueur.
07:50We'll slide over here and don't move too much, okay, because I don't want you to fall.
07:53We have a fridge here where it's, like, you know, Bud Light, olives, juice, seltzers.
07:59I would love to be like, hey, you trying to get a drink or something?
08:02You know, and be able to whip something up real quick, but I only know how to whip up a
08:05glass
08:05glass of milk for him.
08:07Leo loves milk.
08:09What do you know?
08:10You want your leche?
08:11No, I'm drinking leche.
08:14Yeah, he loves leche.
08:16He calls it leche instead of milk.
08:19I was sleeping.
08:21You were sleeping?
08:22Yeah.
08:23Are you happy that the people are at the house?
08:26No.
08:28You want them to leave?
08:31No.
08:36So now I'm going to take you guys to where all the magic happens.
08:41I wish at least.
08:43Let's go.
08:44Before we get there, I think I do have to talk yet again about the pictures that are on the
08:48wall.
08:48This right here was all Sharon.
08:50And I know it sounds like I'm lying, but I'm serious.
08:52She wants this stuff in my house.
08:54And this one, though, this is a photo from Akilah and the Beat, which is, it was probably
08:59like the third movie I did, but the first movie I starred in.
09:03I was 11 years old, and I was number one on the call sheet, and it was a lot of
09:07responsibility.
09:09I got to work with Laurence Fishburne and Angela Bassett, but it was just such a particular
09:12time in my life.
09:13And so when I look at that little girl, it's just like, oh my gosh, she's still with me,
09:18and she's brought me so far, and I want to continue to make her proud.
09:21So I just love that picture over here before we get into my bedroom.
09:25This was right after I became a mother, and my boobs were amazing.
09:30I guess I have to have another baby to get those back, but I love to look back at this
09:35picture and remember who I used to be when milk filled me up.
09:38You know, things happen.
09:45I love, love, love Pilates.
09:47I really, really do.
09:48So much so that I put a performer in my bedroom.
09:51And at first, I remember when I was talking with my estate manager and moving, you know,
09:55rearranging my furniture for this.
09:57They were like, oh, do we want to build out another space?
09:59So they didn't know, but I like it in my room.
10:01Because it's like, I can be sitting here watching something on Netflix, and I'm laying down,
10:07and I'm doing just some legwork.
10:08My nightstand has everything I need.
10:11By my bedside, I always have, like, several different pairs of glasses because, yes, I'm
10:16blind, and I've got my drawers.
10:18I have all my, like, vitamins, just different things that I take before bed.
10:22I am, in fact, a very ritual person.
10:24I've got my eye mask because it's so funny.
10:27I like for the TV to be on, but I also like for my eyes to not see the light.
10:33I just like to hear the voices.
10:35Yeah, it's just me.
10:37I also have sleep tapes.
10:39They help me to make sure that I'm not breathing through my mouth when I sleep and I'm breathing
10:43through my nose.
10:44This right here, this is because I am a crazy Virgo.
10:47So every now and then, at the end of each week, I might say what are going to be my
10:51outfits
10:51for the next few days.
10:54And so I'll hang them up right here so that I don't have to think about what I'm going
10:57to be wearing.
10:58It's just fun.
10:59I do like to get into a girly vibe, even though I know how to play with the boys, too.
11:03Don't get it twisted.
11:04She's a renaissance woman.
11:05Now, let's head into my bathroom.
11:08But it's kind of like my take on a boudoir.
11:14I'm talking about fashion, glamour, getting into outfits and everything like that.
11:18But I will show you that I don't just get dressed up.
11:21I also get dressed down.
11:23I'm going to show you one of my favorite things to wear.
11:41I'm going to show you one of my favorite things to wear.
11:48I'm going to show you one of my favorite things to wear.
11:56She's got a little frills and a little bit of stuff going on.
12:00But I always want to go to a flea market and get one of these little moon dresses to go
12:04to sleep in.
12:05I mean, I grew up watching Lucille Ball.
12:07I grew up watching Bewitched.
12:08I grew up watching ladies get into their grandma bag, but be sexy about it.
12:13But also, it's like, no big deal.
12:14No big deal.
12:15And so I love grabbing these items.
12:17So this is like my, let's get ready to turn down.
12:20Let's get ready for the night to end.
12:22And I have like a really, really big ritual to it.
12:24I'll take my shower or I'll take my bath.
12:28Here I have all my bath stuff.
12:30So I have like face masks that I can put on when I get into the bath.
12:33I'll have like my boom box if I want to put on some music.
12:36Boom box really aged me.
12:38I have like, you know, my bath, bubble bath.
12:42I even have like a little spray for the room.
12:44Like just to set the tone, it's like, I really am into creating a moment for me.
12:52One time I made a whole charcuterie board.
12:54I took my little, you know, side table.
12:57I put it on there.
12:58I was in the bath.
12:59Okay.
13:00I've got my little wooden bath thing, which I don't know what you call it, but they're
13:03great and they're on Amazon.
13:04I got my bath salts.
13:06I got my book.
13:07I got my remote so I can watch a little TV if I need to.
13:10If I just want something up there, it's ambient noise, you know.
13:13I got my little bath back pad.
13:15It helps me to relax when I'm in the tub.
13:16I got my towel warmer in case when I get out, I want to make sure that I'm not immediately
13:20cold.
13:22I have so much skin routine stuff.
13:24It's kind of crazy.
13:26I have like different things under here that I might use, you know, and everything is,
13:31again, like has a name on it.
13:33These are my contacts.
13:35Backstock fakes products.
13:37Maybe I'll put on a bonnet depending on how my hair is.
13:40If I have braids, if I have a wig that I'm trying to save, I'll probably put on a bonnet.
13:43But if I have my short hair, a durag, okay, because we want the durag to keep the hair
13:49smushed down.
13:50But obviously we have everything for anything.
13:52If I want to do rollers and preset a wig, all the wig people are going to be like, Kiki,
13:56this is so disrespectful to your wigs.
13:58But these are all my wigs in all these bags.
14:02Tons and tons and tons of wigs.
14:03I've got black ones.
14:04I've got copper ones.
14:06It's crazy down there.
14:08This is where all my jewelry is.
14:10Don't try to rob me.
14:12You'll get got.
14:13I'm starting to get older.
14:15So a lot of times you might need a powder puff for the sweat like the grandmas used to do.
14:21It really helps you.
14:23I know it.
14:23No talc.
14:24Talc free.
14:25Yeah, I know.
14:33This is Leotis' room.
14:35He is seconds away from an NAP.
14:38Don't say the word, because then he'll suddenly get a burst of E-N-E-R-G-Y.
14:42But this is his bedroom, and I really want it to feel like his little sanctuary.
14:47So he has this big window that I love.
14:49He also has his shelf of books.
14:51So many books.
14:52And Leo loves to read.
14:53I remember when he was born, I came back home to my home in New York, and I had a
14:59big
15:00like box of books that Jamie Lee Curtis sent me.
15:03These were like books that she had been given to her children that she was then sharing with
15:09me.
15:12Good job, buddy.
15:14Safe.
15:15He also loves his Lightning McQueen bed.
15:17That's one of his favorite characters ever.
15:20He actually graduated to this bed this year.
15:22Obviously, he has this wallpaper on his wall that's like Leo the Lion, because he's in
15:26the jungle.
15:27He's in his own jungle, in his room, in his space.
15:30He plays basketball.
15:32He also has this, which is kind of creepy, but he really, really loves it.
15:39My dad gave him this.
15:41It's like a little fake dog.
15:43He loves this little fake dog, and it breathes and everything.
15:47My dad got this.
15:48This is some shit that your parents do, you know?
15:50Over here is where he has all his little toys.
15:52And then, unfortunately, the toys don't stop there.
15:56Okay, go ahead.
15:57Show us.
15:58Lots of toys.
16:00Lots of clothes.
16:00We've actually given a lot of them away, because he don't need all of that.
16:05You know what I mean?
16:06I think the thing that I love most about seeing Leo in his room is that he feels that it's
16:10his sanctuary the same way that I feel mine is.
16:13And it really reflects his comfort, the things he loves, his personality.
16:18And a lot of times he'll say, like, I'm going to my room, or leave.
16:22I want to be in my room by myself.
16:23And so, it's his safe space.
16:25And I'm really just happy that, you know, as a mom, I could provide that for him.
16:29Did you want this?
16:40This is the media room.
16:43Also, another great big window moment.
16:46You see the consistency around the board.
16:48This is a custom couch that I had made.
16:50Green, in true Earth sign fashion, all the family gets in here together.
16:55We watch movies, and not just the regular movies.
16:58We watch VHSs.
17:00My sister, who is absolutely amazing, got a VHS that we could hook up to our TV, our modern
17:07TV, and watch all these old school movies.
17:09So, we've got The Glass House, The Predator.
17:12I mean, we've got Ghost.
17:14We've got Aladdin, Back to the Future, Blank Check.
17:18Baby!
17:18This is a deep cut.
17:21This right here, y'all don't know nothing about that.
17:23Y'all know nothing about that goose bumps.
17:25Y'all know nothing about that fox and a hound.
17:28We even got Thumbelina.
17:29Even when you look over here, we have all these old school classic horror books.
17:34I mean, my sister always loved, like, Christopher Pike.
17:37I mean, she's got all different types of stuff, but we love horror.
17:41So, this is her addition to our in-home collection, and it is so fierce.
17:45My sisters and I lead very different lives, but our core values are always the same.
17:49So, we love movie nights.
17:51We have so many blankets in these lower cabinets where we just pull pallets out on the floor,
17:56and we ride back there in Robbins, Illinois, when all we had was one room outside of our
18:01bedrooms and a let-out couch, and we would put on those VHS tapes, and we would get lost
18:07in cinema.
18:07The environment may have changed.
18:09We may have a lot more, but who we are at heart always remains when we curl up on these
18:14couches, and we sit back, and we watch some movie.
18:21All right, guys.
18:22Well, that was my house.
18:24I'm so glad that you came and checked it out.
18:26I really cleaned up real nice for you.
18:28So, hopefully, you enjoyed yourself.
18:29Now, you ain't got to go home, but you got to get the hell up out of here.
