01:13Now, four powerhouse designer-contractor duos from across North America will take on the ultimate renovation competition.

01:54Having won two monumental areas of a home, we're feeling really confident walking into the finale.
02:01I don't know what's in store for this final challenge, but whatever it is, we got to nail it.
02:05I'm very nervous because this is the end.
02:08I am treating this competition just like I do my opposing counsel in the courtroom.
02:13I am going to crush you.
02:15Well, this is it.
02:17You've made it.
02:22Standing here, surrounded by your peers amongst your competition, you should be incredibly proud of what you've accomplished.
02:29But make no mistake, this journey is not quite over.
02:34There's one last challenge that stands between you and the title of Renovation Resort champions.
02:42All season long, you've been crafting a story through design.
02:45Every wall and every detail has told us something about who you are.
02:50And now it's time to bring that vision to life one last time.
02:55For your final challenge, we want you to create a bold branding moment.
03:00Not a room, not a renovation, a statement.
03:04A sculptural standout piece that will be mounted to the front of your lake house.
03:09Something that will tell every visitor exactly what kind of experience lies ahead before they walk in the door.
03:17We've set up temporary workstations by the water for your final challenge.
03:21And for this task, you only have six hours.

04:54You're really honing in on your property now and making sure that you've got the best marketing in the business.
05:01You've got to sell the guest experience, and you've got to sell us that you've done a great job wrapping
05:05this up.
05:05That is going to determine who wins Renovation Resort and who takes home $100,000.
05:12We do have to make something that will be able to withstand the elements.
05:16We already have a logo that we've been using throughout the house.
05:19We can hang something.

05:22So I want to make sure that we lean into that.
05:24At this point, Scott and Brian will expect it.
05:26I love the idea of a sign.
05:27I love the idea of a feeling like it's like hanging from a village inn or an antique shop.
05:32This home needs a gorgeous sign that reminds us of our childhood village.
05:37We have to make a piece of coral or something.
05:39Of course.
05:39I mean, there's no question that it's got to be coral.
05:42For our Lake House Branding Challenge, we want to create a large piece of coral that represents the name and
05:48the feeling of Coral Cove.
05:49But it needs to be really deep so we can create the dimension off the wall that we need.
05:54So now we just got to figure out how do you make coral?
05:57How do you make a really large coral?
06:01I'm thinking something that just is above our bench.
06:04Okay.
06:05A morphed looking space texture.
06:08Right.
06:09I love the idea of sticking two minimalistic textured pieces with little to no wording.
06:17What if we made a nice wood sign and we could do some sort of engraving?
06:20I think I have the tools here.
06:21Yeah, I like that idea.
06:22So we'll have our logo.
06:25We're going to have the Cedar Shore.
06:26When guests walk into our lake house, I want them to have just that exhale.
06:32That they're at a place that is complete peace where they can create memories that they're going to talk about
06:38years after that.
06:39We really don't have a lot of time.
06:40It's got to look good, but we're going to be able to get it done too.
06:45We can make a sandbox to create a flat mold and pour quick-set concrete in that.
06:51I just don't want it to look flat.
06:54At least one or two pieces of coral need to really stick around from the wall.
06:58Yeah, be really textural.
07:00So I'm going to construct the coral on a hope and a prayer.
07:04Quick-set concrete would be dry in like three hours.
07:10So I think we might just take the risk.

07:17This is ambitious, but we're going to take the chance because we need coral at Coral Cove.

07:41I feel like that represents our family with all of our loved ones.

25:58The fact that it's an original piece, they made it themselves,

27:38When you head up north, you know when you start to see all the lake houses that all the signs
27:43are hanging at the road.
27:44This is, I think, right in line with expectations of what you would find in a lake house.
27:51I think this gives you a great sense of the feeling that you're going to have when you walk inside.
27:56It's warm.
27:57It's light.
27:58It's airy.
27:58It's got a traditional familiarity to it.
28:01But I'm looking at this from a longevity standpoint.

29:49Well, as the teams tour each other's lake houses, we've had a tough decision to make.

29:57Some incredible execution and quality of work.

30:40Just because you've got great carpentry skills, and you understand the guest experience,
30:44doesn't mean you always have the best result, because they struggled to get some wins.

30:56They are very hands-on.
30:58They want to do everything custom themselves.

31:01No matter which room you walk into, the quality of their work is top notch.

31:26From the moment you arrive at their lake house, you feel comfortable.

31:35This is the definition of, like, comfort.

31:40They started really strong.
31:42They won the primary bedroom.

32:21If I had to describe the design in two words, it would be soft and subtle.

32:31Their banquette wall, it was a risk, but it paid off.

33:19And she absolutely knocked it out of the park with the fireplace.

33:29Right out of the gate with the primary bedroom, I felt like the actual bedroom itself didn't
33:34hit the mark.
33:35But the bathroom, that was the first sneak peek at what they were capable of.

33:43Shalon, she's got incredible vision.
33:45She definitely flexed the color and the Bahamian vibe.
33:49I think there's some areas of going a little too far.

34:53or the incredible mural work she did.
34:56Liz is incredibly talented and I think she showed us that.
34:59Everyone's faces are so different, but it just suits every house so well.

35:08It's loud.
35:09You know, it invites people in.
35:10You know that's where the party's going to happen.
35:12But is their design too niche?
35:15The Flamengo theme is living large in here.
35:18They went for it and going for it in the short term vacation space is always a win.

35:26Let's just say that Mare Dad started this competition going in circles.

35:38Their primary bedroom and bathroom was impressive.
35:42A lot of custom pieces.
35:43There's a lot of Taylor's heritage going into this.
35:45But she didn't have the confidence to really lean into it until we got to the kitchen.
