00:08Hello everyone
00:09I've decided that since we're in the middle of an election year
00:12that I would do my graduation speech
00:14in the style of some of the 2016 presidential candidates
00:26Along with President Obama
00:28Let's begin with Donald Trump
00:33Hello
00:35And congratulations
00:36You are now getting to hear a speech
00:38from the magnificent Donald Trump
00:40And let me just tell you
00:42that Thomas has been such a great school
00:44I mean quite frankly it's been fantastic
00:50I mean we have had so many great experiences here
00:53You know one of those would have to be
00:56to be starting a foreign language
00:58We're learning languages from Spain
01:00from France
01:01from Germany
01:02and China
01:07And you know
01:07And you know people say
01:09I don't like China
01:09I love China
01:12I mean I love China
01:13I mean I have so many terrific friends in China
01:19But I took Spanish
01:20But I took Spanish
01:21And let me just tell you by the way
01:22that it was fantastic work
01:23Boy fantastic work
01:28And you know foreign languages is one good thing
01:30You know another one would have to be
01:32the showdown against the teachers themselves
01:35We won in 6th grade
01:36We won in 7th grade
01:38But then we lost in 8th grade
01:39But that's okay teachers
01:40We'll forgive you
01:44And let me just tell you by the way
01:45that if we have an entire team of Mr. Craig's
01:47Who by the way is fantastic
01:48I mean he's terrific
01:52If we have an entire team of Mr. Craig's
01:54We will win
01:55And we will win
01:57And believe me
01:58We will win
02:09In fact quite frankly we'll win so much
02:11You'll be sick of winning
02:15And again this is such a terrific crowd
02:17I know you're all loving this speech
02:18But I have to hand it off to Senator Ted Cruz
02:23Thank you Donald
02:29Let me start by saying this
02:33God bless the great school of Thomas
02:39You know some of the greatest memories here of TMS
02:42Were in the creative arts classes
02:44Like in family and consumer science
02:47Baking the wacky chocolate cake
02:50Or sewing our very own miniature pillows
02:54Oh my god
02:55Mine had a Lamborghini on its head
02:59And I can assure you that that Lamborghini is still a throw pillow on my bed each and every day
03:08Or in music class experimenting with the different tones of the boomwhackers
03:16Or jamming on the ukuleles
03:20Creative arts unquestionably part of the great TMS memories
03:25And I know that President Obama shares some of the same great feelings that I have about Thomas
03:30Isn't that right Mr. President?
03:33You know that's right Ted
03:35You know that's right Ted
03:36And I'd just like to start off by thanking our excellent principal Mr. Kate
03:41You know
03:51He's done a terrific job preparing us for high school
03:56Back to the memories though
03:58You know
03:58Some of the greatest memories that we have
04:01Were gym class or PE
04:14You know
04:14We did all the regular sports you'd expect
04:17Like basketball and soccer
04:19But we also did some unique ones too
04:21You know
04:23Like on rainy days
04:25We would go into the small gym and do yoga
04:28And
04:29And I'm proud to say
04:30That I've completely mastered the downward dog
04:36You know
04:39We also did a unit entirely on dance
04:42We did dances like the Bavarian Shoe Planet
04:47And we also did some Hawaiian dancing too
04:49In fact
04:51I even remember how one of the Hawaiian songs goes
04:54It goes a little bit like this
04:58I want to go back to my little grass hut
05:04Where all the old Hawaiians are singing
05:06Komo mai no kawa i kahale wa lakaha
05:11Aloha to that
05:24Anyway
05:24TMS has been filled with some truly terrific memories
05:28And now I'd like to pass it on
05:30To Secretary Hillary Clinton
05:35Thank you President Obama
05:42I'd like to start out by thanking
05:45The great hard working teachers
05:47Of Thomas Middle School
05:58They've been our champions
06:01They've given us the skills we need
06:03To get through 6th grade
06:04And through 7th grade
06:05And through 8th grade
06:07And now we're going to take those skills
06:08And apply them to high school
06:11And thanks to our teachers
06:12We have all the tools we need
06:14To succeed in this next chapter of our lives
06:17And they all deserve a big round of applause
06:30And I know that Senator Sanders agrees with me
06:37Yes I do agree with the Secretary
06:47And hello
06:48Thank you for allowing me to speak to you today
06:54Let me start with the lunches
06:56They are delicious
06:59Things like pizza
07:01And tacos and chips
07:02You name it
07:04And some of the best cinnamon rolls
07:07I've ever tasted
07:09I do have one improvement
07:12For them though
07:14We need to make them free
07:28Why should students have to pay
07:31For their own cinnamon rolls
07:32Doesn't make any sense
07:35What we need is a cinnamon roll revolution
07:44You know another great experience
07:47You know another great experience
07:47Would have to be going to Taft
07:50Who can forget activities
07:52Like night hike
07:53And cross country orienteering
07:55Or indulging ourselves
07:58Into some truly delicious meals
08:01Like pot roast with noodles
08:06And finally
08:08To conclude this entire graduation speech
08:12I would just like to say
08:15That the bottom line is this
08:17As far as schools go
08:22TMS is in the top
08:24One half of one half of one percent
08:27Of schools in the entire country
08:29Thank you all so much
08:31Congratulations
08:31Grazie mille, grazie mille.
