00:00So, J.Y., the floor is yours.
00:02The New York Knicks are in the NBA Finals.
00:05Kevin, I can't believe it.
00:06I mean, I thought that they were going to get there,
00:09but the matter of how the Knicks have gotten there
00:12is something short of miraculous.
00:15And I sat here with Kevin a year ago,
00:18and I told everyone that Mike Brown was going to be an upgrade over Tom Thibodeau.
00:23And some people came after me about it,
00:25and I said for two reasons.
00:28The offense was going to be a little bit more fluid,
00:30and he was going to use his bench,
00:32and he wasn't going to wear his guys out.
00:35Now, it did take the offense like, I don't know,
00:3882, then 83 because of the NBA Cup,
00:42and then, let's see, 85, 86.
00:44It took about 86, 87 games to figure out
00:48that you just can't pound the ball into the pavement with Jalen Brunson.
00:51And you've seen the evolution of this Knicks team.
00:54It's been miraculous.
00:56You can't say enough about the team.
00:58You can't also say enough about ready-finish folks.
01:01I'm going to say the two words that you're never going to think I'm going to give credit to.
01:05I'm going to give it to James Dolan.
01:07Why?
01:08Because he decided to stay out of it.
01:11He put people in place.
01:13He didn't meddle like he did when Donnie Walsh forced Carmelo trade.
01:17He didn't meddle like he did when he tried to get LeBron James to sign with the Knicks.
01:20He let the people he hired do their job.
01:26Are you listening to me, Woody Johnson?
01:29I know it's not a football show, but are you listening, Woody Johnson?
01:33He trusted his guys to do their jobs.
01:38And it's beautiful times in New York City.
01:40I think the Knicks, if they play this way, are very much in play in the NBA Finals.
01:48If it's Oklahoma City, you're dealing with injuries, which I don't know when A.J. Mitchell and J.L. Williams
01:55are going to come back.
01:56That can give the Knicks an advantage at times.
02:00And if you look at San Antonio, if it's them, what are the Knicks going to do?
02:07They're going to pick and pop and run the offense through Cat.
02:11Wemby's got to come out and play it, which opens up driving lanes for Brunson if he can get to
02:16the rack.
02:16And New York Knicks have shot the ball extremely well from three.
02:20I'm not saying they're going to win it.
02:22They're going to be underdogs.
02:23But if people think this whole East thing and the Knicks just ran through everyone and they're going to get
02:29swept out of the Finals,
02:30folks, you've got to sell that bridge to someone else.
02:34Whoever the Knicks play in the Finals, it's going to be a really good series going at least six games.
02:40I am really, really excited for the NBA Finals.
02:43I think the Knicks have just – I mean, look, it's not even a thought.
02:49It's not an opinion.
02:49It's a fact.
02:50They've gone on a historic run here and, man, I don't know how they did it to some degree.
03:00Like, I know how they did it, but I don't know how they came to the conclusion to do it.
03:05Brunson was brilliant in the Eastern Conference Finals.
03:07Cat has been great.
03:09McCall Bridges was going to get run out of New York and is now –
03:14I'm being – I have Knicks fans texting me that Knicks won the trade with the Brooklyn Mets.
03:21It has just been a remarkable turnaround and it's been a lot of fun and the city is on fire.
